Antelope Basecamp

I had a great time hunkering down waiting out the weather while cycling through. The cabins are small and cozy, and the bathrooms are clean. Brandie was very welcoming and I had no issues, a very pleasant stay.

A great quiet escape!

The cabins were clean and cozy and just wonderful! The bathrooms are also great. We had a rainy day, and with the sheltered porch we were able to cook dinner (we brought a camp stove) and stay dry. When the rain slowed down, we enjoyed the fire pit and Brandie built a nice campfire for us! We had clouds, so didn't get to enjoy the stars, but we will be back! This property is lovingly cared for and it shows that so much thought has gone into it. We are excited to return and see the vision continue to grow. We enjoyed exploring the nearby rocks at John Day National Monument- Clarno Unit, and loved this area!

Stargazing

October 2025 We went to the Antelope basecamp to stargaze and we saw Comets! It is a dark sky area AND there are heated cabins. In October it is cold at night. We liked so many details minimizing light pollution - like red lights outside at night, and fluorescent bits of glass in the walkways so you can see at night. The campfire is a nice area where we talked to other travelers. The bathrooms were very clean and warm. We loved the visit and will come again. Looking forward to next year to see the planned improvements.

The Antelope camp is a very nice arrangement, with a new bathrooms & showers building. My cabin was cozy & warm. Another building is being built next to the bathhouse. The starry sky was wonderful, well worth staying up later & getting bundled up for the 35ish temps. I was there for the October new moon. The chair from the cabin made a nice semi-recliner for leaning back for great sky viewing. I got in late, nearly 10, & was greeted by a herd of deer that weren't at all concerned by my presence. Next time I will stay for 2 nights because there are some really interesting things to see nearby.

This is a sweet little cabin community in beautiful central Oregon canyonland! Our cabin, #9, was clean and just as shown in the pics. We spent the day at nearby Cove Pallisades State Park and then stargazed outside our cabin at night. The lovely sunrise over the hills the next morning was the cherry on top.

Awesome glamping spot

We really enjoyed our stay at Antelope Basecamp. Everything is newly updated and super cute and cozy. The shared bathrooms have showers! Star viewing was amazing!! The town is practically a ghost town and there is no store anywhere around so pack everything you need! The fire pit was super nice and kept burning easily. There were so many cute details like the glow in the dark pebbles inlaid in the pathways. The cabins look tiny on the outside but feel roomy inside. The host was super responsive and helpful. Cabins are affordable. Check out Clarno National Monument about 30 minutes between Antelope and Fossil. Absolutely gorgeous rocks mountains and a nice hiking trail.

Happy Camper

We loved the cabins, they looked great, and were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and clean. Locking key pads for the bathhouse. Cement walkways with glow in the dark rocks to help in navigation at night. A beautiful community fire pit with chairs. An up and coming breakfast area. Covered patio with an honor fridge (as there are no amenities in Antelope).

It was a great stay. Our group had 4 cabins and all were clean, warm and cozy. There was plenty of room for us to gather together. The facilities were all clean and the whole area is really charming. And the stars! 🤩

A gorgeous spot for stargazing. They’re really throwing all of their love into this place. Thoughtful touches throughout the camp, and glow-in-the-dark pebbles light up the paved walkways at night. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time staying here! The cabin was cozy and clean, and the campground is really coming along! We are excited for all the work Brandie is planning for this camp ground, and will definitely be back! This is a perfect spot to spend the night while exploring the area.

Spur-of-the-moment overnight trip

What a lovely overnight adventure trip on a whim! The proprietors are visionaries making this into a unique experience, with present and future amenities. I was pleasantly surprised to find a free solar EV charging station on site for my Rivian. Bathrooms/showers are brand new, clean and even heated. The "A-frame" cabins are rustic and cozy, and include heat for cold nights. We enjoyed mixing with fellow travelers and enjoying this style of camping--basic but deluxe.

I had a very peaceful time at the Antelope Basecamp. It was just me and my dog staying in one of the cabins and I felt very comfortable, welcomed, and safe. I saw plenty of deer and heard coyotes crooning at night. The bathrooms were easy to access. I did not use the showers but they looked nice. The lighting in the cabins was very cozy and nice which is always a nice detail. The bed was very comfortable and the heater worked great! Loved having access to a fridge while on the road. Even though it was cloudy and I wasn’t able to see any stars, I had a wonderful time and will for sure be back.

Cozy cabins in a beautiful place

I had such a great stay at Antelope Base Camp! The cabin was warm and cozy and the bathrooms were easy to get to and clean. What a beautiful place! Very quiet and peaceful. Brandie was helpful too, when I arrived after dark and couldn't figure out which cabin was mine, thank you!! Can't wait to come back again!

The cabin was great! I would love to go back again. I appreciated the care taken with choosing high quality fixtures in the bathrooms. It was very quiet and serene. I saw a lot of deer while walking around in the early morning. There was a flock of wild turkeys nearby.

I saw deer and wild turkeys!

Everything was perfectly perfect! Great directions from Brandi and eady to get to. I felt very taken care of as to nice bathrooms and showers, very comfy bed with a variety of lights. A frig full of snacks, water and soda on the honor system. I saw so many stars the 1st night there and that was exactly what I needed. I saw Brandi a couple times the next day and she is super focused on making her Basecamp accessible, comfy and very affordable. I will return!

Had a great stay in Antelope. The A-frame was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. We made and ate meals in the open air shelter and listened to the incredible quietude - except when interrupted by birdsong. Saw the Milky Way by 8:30. Wow!
