Purchased in 1989, this small piece of heaven was developed by Peter & Suelaine Poot into a home for their family and beginning in 2004, a welcoming alpaca farm.  The bush area has been used for camping by many local and visiting scouting groups over the years.  In 2021, we joined Hip Camp and now allow others to enjoy the beauty, peace, and challenges of camping in our bush. The alpacas are a peaceful herd to watch as they graze their way through the day. Crias (baby alpacas), love to pronk and play in the pastures near their mothers. During May you may observe us shearing the alpacas.  June is the birthing and breeding month.  They birth quickly, so watch carefully.  Tours of the farm with explanations of the fibre harvest process and opportunites to walk the alpacas are available to be booked through our website.

Absolutely beautiful people, beautiful piece of property, EXTREMELY low prices for quality EVERYTHING and there are a ton of alpacas!!! (My favorite part of the stay was the 3 puppers coming to say hi every now and then hanging out with everybody xD... Don't worry if your not a dog person they said that they could take the puppers away :p we all loved them though!!!)

Arrived to be greeted by owner Suelaine. Spacious site with fire pit and picnic table. The grandsons were very interested in participating in feeding and walking the alpacas. Very peaceful on a back country road. We used the site as a base to take in surrounding area and the host had several suggestions to visit. Saw the Palmerston farmers market and train museum. A nearby Quilt and Tractor show was a bonus. Would highly recommend this camp for families with children of all ages.

Alpacas 🦙
Absolutely best camping experience by far! Alpacas…what more can I say. Very nice campsite in the trees. Huge picnic table which is super handy to put your stuff on when setting up camp. Suelaine, Peter, and Ben are very hospitable and informative. We were able to help feed the alpacas and walk the young ones to get weighed. The stars were breathtaking one clear night. The store had very practical and cute alpaca products. I am telling all my friends to go, even just for the day tour. Thanks again Suelaine, Peter, and Ben!

This one's for BP! 🐕
Nice quiet place, the hosts are kind and happy to include you when it's time to walk/weigh the Aplacas. They have a great little shop, and a beautiful, friendly dog. Firewood available as needed, too. Very accomodating. Check it out.

Camping with Alpacas
We loved setting up our RV on the Pootcorners Alpaca Farm. The location was next to the fields where the alpacas roam and had amazing views of the entire farm. The hosts are very knowledgeable and friendly. Suelaine let us help with feeding and weighing. There is an adorable shop on site that is a must for all things alpaca!!! Wonderful experience...will be back!

Alpacas and Kids <3
Waking up and stepping outside our trailer to face clear skies and alpacas was terrific. The host allowed our children to help with morning farm chores and recommended we attend the sunflower festival. It was such a highlight. We recommend and will gladly return!
