This campsite was incredible! It was nice and private, there was a creek not too far away and Leda was a great host! The site was really big and Leda had a little spot of supplies for us that had anything we forgot(like a spatula and bug spray). Would absolutely come back with family again!

Amazing site, great host
Stayed for two nights, but really should have done three. The site is huge, and if you have a dog, it's a wonderfully enclosed site where they will run around to get their zoomies out. I'm pretty sure my dog is mad at me that we left. The hiking trails nearby are gigantic, and make incredible daytrips, and Tay Township also has a great walking trail if you want to go into town.

I recommend to put a carpet also inside the room, toilet much more usable with WC can be useful, a small heater in case of cold nights, a table lamp. Thanks

I really enjoyed the space given to us, being able to choose where we were putting our tent was nice. It was a large space, very secluded from anyone else . Loved that! Swimming was fun but we did find some leeches so just be cautious and check yourself after your swim. The water was really nice though and the walk to the water was very nice! Overall we loved it and definitely plan to go again!

I had a great time at Leda's farm. Leda was very caring and accommodating. The cabin is brand new and very private! I could make my camping experience even better and comfy with electricity available, as I brought a small heater/fan and a coffee maker! The place is in a good location, about 10 minutes from attractions. The farmer's workers didn't disturb me; they just worked a couple of hours while I was enjoying the campfire. The stars' view was fantastic, and there was a herb garden just in front of the cabin, where I used some fresh oregano for my meal preparation. I definitely want to go back to this beautiful and energetic place!

Family camping with our Pup!
Great space to hammock camp or hit the soft pine forest floor. Leda was quick to respond to my questions and Wolf was prompt in leading us to our weekend space. They have a cool little veggie stand with fresh farm eggs, homemade kombucha, pickled radishes and more. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to camp in the area.

This place is perfect. Pedro and his wife are a lovely couple with their friendly dog. They accomodate us since our van and tent was not fitting on their land by offering us their nice and confortable bunker at the same price. They have a mini farm chickens, goats, rabbit also, Thanks

Not like the pictures
This property has great potential. Unfortunately our site didn't look anything like the pictures. Only similarities was the hammock, a couple chairs and a firepit. It was so overgrown with weeds that we couldn't see the river, nor have any safe access to get in the water. I dont think the weeds had been cut at all this year. They were 4ft tall. So we couldn't swim or fish. There looked to be floating dock, but it wasn't tied to anything so it was stuck under some weeds. The ladder to the water was damaged beyond use. Also I would suggest to pack light and bring a good wagon to walk your stuff to the site. Its about a 5 minute walk along the grass or through the bush on some rough trail with stairs. The bridge is not smooth enough to roll a wagon so you must lift it over the bridge. Overall this site had potential if the area was taken care of.

Camping with 2 tents and 3 dogs!
We stayed at Site #1 in the Pine Forest; a gorgeous, wooded area with plenty of space for multiple tents, a soft pine needle floor, and direct access to trails leading to the Hogg River and swimming holes. The site had a bench and two chairs, a raised/contained fire pit, some camp cooking equipment (grill, dishes, kettle, pots, pans, tongs, skewers etc) and there was an outhouse only a couple min walk up the lane. Leda was helpful and friendly, and provided us with a printed map to orientate ourselves upon arrival. There was firewood available to purchase right on site. The other site(s) are far enough away that we could not hear or see the other campers. Felt like we had an entire forest and river to ourselves, despite there being others around. We brought 3 dogs and they loved roaming around the campsite and swimming in the river. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Amazing!
Amazing camping grounds. Didn’t get a chance to go swimming but there was a lake to use. Leda is probably the coolest host you can find on this app haha. She was extremely nice and helpful. Even offered us some drinks because we forgot to bring our hard liquor with us on the first night. There was also fresh eggs to use in the morning and fire wood to use for campfires at night. Overall 10/10 would recommend.

Great secluded campsites right by the river. We loved our stay. Leda was very kind and showed us around the farm. Lots to do in the area as well. Close to some bigger stores for last minute needs.

We stayed at site 2! We loved it and it was so peaceful. There was a hammock my son loved to lay in. You can hear the flowing water as you fall asleep that was the cherry on top. Leda was so friendly and even lent us a mug when we forgot one. I 100% recommend you check out this little oasis

Simple. Beautiful. Perfect.
There was a bit of an unfortunate booking mixup when we booked. And, I think Leda was worried we’d cancel and book somewhere else. She offered us another spot on the property and we accepted, because, sometimes the best adventures are the ones that didn’t go as planned.
While staying at PayDirt Camp, we had an opportunity to explore the beautiful property. The river, the trails, and the other sites.
PayDirt Camp is perfect.
Both the Pine Forest and the Cedar Forest are beautiful sites. The beautiful tree canopy, and soft pine needle ground cover make it a comfortable place to set up camp.
The location - about 15 minutes from Midland and 5 minutes from Victoria Harbour makes it the ideal spot for campers who always seem to forget something. (Or, the campers who still need their Tim’s every morning.)
Its close proximity to town shouldn’t dissuade you. From your site, or anywhere in the property for that matter, you’d have no idea at all that you weren’t in the middle of Algonquin.
There are trails throughout the property, as well as the old rail line that cuts through it. You’re also not far from the Ganaraska trail. If you aren’t that ambitious, then just lay in the hammock and listen to nothing but the birds and the river splashing over the rocks.
Leda and Wolf were superb hosts. Attentive and accessible, but never intrusive. Thanks so much for sharing your slice of heaven with us! We’ll be back!

Paydirt was an excellent camping experience! Our campsite was secluded and spacious! We loved that the site was dog-friendly, and that we were right next to the swimming hole.
Awenda provincial park is a 25 min drive away from the campsite, which was perfect for us!

Leda has a little slice of heaven with her property! We stayed at the river side location from July 24-26 & it was absolutely beautiful. The ferns surrounding the campsite reminded me of BC and hearing the river while going to sleep was magical. We were even blessed with fireflies both nights! There is PLENTY of firewood available at the site. I noted another review stating that they wish there was more tree covering at this spot which honestly doesn’t make any sense. You set up your tent in the lovely pine forest & can enjoy sitting in the hammock/muskoka chairs available. It was 34 degrees when we went and we were very comfortable in the shade. The fire pit is located in the open area by the entrance to the river but seeing as most people have their camp fires at night, it was not an issue.
The riverside location is a little bit of a trek from where you park, so if you bring a lot with you just keep that in mind.
All in all my partner and I would absolutely love to return to PayDirt farm in the future!

Leda was an amazing and responsive host. She wasn't on site the second day when we needed firewood from everything being wet from the rain and she told us exactly where to get some. We stayed at site 1 which is in a beautiful pine forest and a 1 minute walk from the river. If you have a tarp you 100% should book site 1 because setting one up at site 2 would be pretty difficult. The only con I can think of for this site is that you do hear quite a lot of car noises as it is very close to the road. Other than that this place is amazing an I highly recommend it.

The wooded area was large enough for multiple tents and spaces to cook/relax. We went a little late in the season and most of us were too chicken for a dip in the water but our doggo and the brave one amongst us loved it. Even without a dip in the water just having somewhere scenic to wander to was great. The biggest bonus though was as this is on the pay dirt farm we drove up to our order of fresh veggies waiting for us! The stars were so bright in the clearing where we parked our cars and I loved the slasher film style drive through the cornfield to get to our space. The hosts were lovely to deal with and so quick to reply when we needed anything. We were happy to get to meet some of their doggos and chickens too! All around a pleasure, we will visit again next season!

We had a wonderful time camping at Leda's farm for a couple nights. The pine forest was really peaceful and a great spot to camp. The swimming hole with the bridge was a particular surprise, it was great for a refreshing swim! Would definitely camp here again sometime, it's great.
