Site 17 - WALKAbOUT Electric Large

We have been taking my nieces and nephew camping here for years. It’s quiet and secluded, and the grounds are well kept. The owner, Carl, is always friendly and helpful, and we’ve enjoyed seeing how he’s invested in amenities and grown his business over the years. We typically stay in Wolf Cabin but have stayed in Bear as well. Both are very nice and clean. This year my parents came along and stayed in the new Eagle Cabin. It’s very beautiful, and they really enjoyed it. See you next year, Carl!

Try WALKAbOUT Creek Campground

Eagle Cabin

This was our first stay at WALKAbOUT Creek and it was a great experience. Eagle Cabin is new and we were so impressed. Plenty of room for my husband and myself, with a loft available for two more. The layout and decor are well thought out and the cabin is very clean. Having a full bathroom is a definite plus. The host, Carl, is friendly and approachable. He led us right to our site, explained the layout of the campground and also offered information on the local area. The campground itself is very quiet and out of the way. It is the perfect place for a getaway.

I needed a simple place to set up a tent and grab some shuteye in the middle of a long drive. This place was perfect. Beautiful setting. The owner was very chill and helpful. I would definitely recommend.

Site 7 - WALKAbOUT Creek Primitive

We had a great experience staying at Bear Cabin! We had to find something semi last minute in the area, and this was such a hidden gem! Far enough away from town to feel like you are in the middle of the woods but close enough that you don't have to drive too far for groceries. Cabin was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Area around the cabin was very spacious and we had plenty of room for the kids to run around. Walkabout also had numerous things that anyone can use, including an arcade, to keep us busy no matter the weather. The only downside was not being able to drive up to the cabin, however they did provide a wagon they we could use to take trips back and forth. Would highly recommend and would stay here again!

What a great camp! Carl is very personable, the grounds are beautiful, it’s very secluded (ie; off the beaten path). The camp has a common area to hang out and cook or bonfire or play games. There is also a full ~on grid~ bathroom with a shower and that’s attached to a small game room with a tv and air hockey (if you absolutely feel the need to stay connected). A really peaceful getaway but only about an hour drive to Marietta to the SW, Granville to the NE & Hocking Hills to the south. My sister and I tent/car camped here for 4 nights and 5 days and really hated to leave. 😊

Owner was very kind and inviting when we arrived on site. He also gave us clear directions to get there when the GPS would not. There was plenty of space between campsites and the other campers seemed very respectful. I overall enjoyed my stay

Carl was an amazing host. The cabin was a perfect size for me and my girlfriend with room to host more. It is clear that much effort has gone into making this site welcoming to all. The cabin and bathroom were very clean and anything needed was provided. Additionally Carl was very flexible with our arrival time and even helped us get moved in late at night.

Nice clean place. Carl received me very well and was well informed. The WIFI is very good. P.S. Don't always rely on Google Map, arrive via route 60 south of Duncan Falls, it will be easier, ask Carl.

I loved camping At bear cabin, it was one of the most peaceful experiences. It’s so quiet and private. It feels like you’re all alone. It really feels like a cabin in the woods and it’s so nice to have an indoor bathroom and shower. Overall, this is amazing espically for the price! I would recommend this to all of my friends and I already have :) The host was very helpful, He even has fishing and farm animals to see! This would be a great weekend trip even for somebody who is a local. Loved it!! So clean and nice.

Carl and company were very communicative and hospitable! They made sure we felt right at home. Secluded campground with some good amenities! We were there during a heatwave so it wasn’t too crowded, but I imagine it can become pretty social there when busy.

Site 8 - WALKAbOUT Creek Primitive

My best friend and I tent camped one night here and we will be back again! Carl upgraded us to a better site when we arrived and took us right to our spot. He showed us around and chopped wood for us, too. We stayed up far too late catching up and gazing at the stars, but that was not a bad thing. Highly recommend!

The host was super helpful! Anything you forgot he could either supply or recommend a place to go get it. He also had a website with links of all the local places and attractions. He's working hard on building the campsite up. It will be interesting to see how it changes over the next 10 years.

My kids and I live in NY and we’re city people so we were extremely out of our comfort zone in the country side of Ohio! But as soon as we got there Carl was nice and friendly that we felt safe right away. The kids enjoyed the game room that was on the property. It was a very pleasant stay!

Absolutely love this place, and we will be back. the remoteness but being connected(Wi-Fi) is wonderful. they have all of the amenities for even a tent camper (bathroom and game room)

Wolf cabin

We loved our stay here at the wolf cabin ! Carl was very nice and very quick to respond if we needed anything . We love that it was so close to the parks and fishing areas Plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play The inside of the cabin was perfect for what we needed. Definitely nice the have the fridge and microwave It was very clean inside and such a peaceful stay We will definitely be back

Carl for the win!

We love Carl. He was great with communication, helped us feel comfortable, went out last minute and bought a propane tank just so we could use his blacktop grill. Told us no one else was staying be as loud as we want. Hooked us up with free wood, showed us how to connect to his surround sound at the community pavilion. And best of all helped us pull off a grand prank on my brother! Carl is the best, we will for sure be back my friend, you are great.
