Overall sleeping there was fine. We usually choose a campground with activities to do while there but that wasn’t the case with this campground. At check in we were told NO MUSIC. NO EXCEPTIONS. I thought that was wild. The pool is super small and doesn’t open until 11 am. While you can swim at the swimming lake, it is gross and the bottom is super muddy. The store doesn’t open till 11 either and we found that to be inconvenient. There was nothing to do (other than fishing) so we had to fill our time at other places for the day which only made us spend more money than expected. If you’re looking for quiet then this is the place for you. The campers weren’t what we usually encounter either. Plenty of waves and we never felt unsafe or anything but you aren’t making friends. Just not the place for our family, unfortunately.

The site 50 had standing water, none of the others around it did. It would be OK for a tent if it was dry. The pond is within 50 feet of the camp site. So that was great. The highway noise was alot from my point of view. , we had a truck camper so it didnt muffle the highway sounds. The campground was clean and maintained.

We loved this campground and it was perfect for us! Hidden gem!! This is campground is not for the faint at heart! A true nature/wildlife and fisherman’s delight for camping to get away from the noise, hustle,bustle technology. Strict rules protects this well maintained and quiet area (read the rules) The small red firelights at night makes it for a true camping experience to appreciate the noises that nature holds. Bring a flashlight there are no bright electrical bright lights anywhere expect the front entrance. The dark sky star gazing tops off this experience by allowing to get up and close with nature. We were able to relax and decompress. Spacious spaces gives privacy from the neighbors. There is tent and group camping so those spaces are closer together. Few sites have sewer. Rest have Water and electricity. (did not take photos of the group sites, just where I was at.) there are options for pull through and it is spacious enough for big rigs and mega rigs. Friendly service from the hosts/owners. It was one of my favorite places to have been. They did have activity planned for the kids. Comfy from being away from Home with amenities to make it a great stay. They have three ponds for fishing and swimming. Close to attractions and 5 lighthouses within an hr and major shopping areas. We loved this country campground and would camp there again !

We went for my son’s birthday weekend. The campground was clean, bathrooms were very clean. Friendly staff on site. Our wood got wet due to rain & they allowed us to exchange it for dry wood which was very accommodating.

First off there is no check in after 6pm while some of us are working class people so we can not get there between the available hours, second they allow pets as long as your dog is not of a specific breed. To judge an animal based off its breed is no different than judging a human by color of their skin. When we arrived we were followed in by a sheriff deputy who then proceeded to ask us if we worked there and if we heard the gun shots they had reported to them. Shortly after that another camper had approached us asking about the unavailability of an after hours number to fix a water issue he was having while his family including children were camping there. Definitely will never attempt to camp here again!

014) Mega Pull Thru 50 Amp Site 14

The campground is very quiet, nice and spacious. It was not too busy when we were there but it wasn't a ghost town either. My main issue with the park is that they really enforce a lot of rules. When we pulled in to the campground we found the map a bit confusing and we found the site numbers difficult to read. As we were trying to navigate the sites to find ours, my attention to going their very strictly enforced 5 mph drifted and I was going 10 mph, at which point an older gentleman on a tractor (I assume the owner) was going irate and screaming at me in front of my kids. When I realized it was because of my speed I gave him a thumbs up to acknowledge I understood and said I was sorry. He continued to scream and yell, meanwhile easily going over 5 mph on his tractor. I thought about the guy later that evening wondering at what point he was going to have a stress induced heart attack because nobody should lose their chill like that. I was annoyed that my children saw that but we had a good talk around the fire that night about how some people just have no chill and generally those are the types of people who don't have friends - so it is best to just feel sorry for them.

Beautiful spot! Nice level sites, our kids swim in the lake/pond, and I was amazed by the lack of mosquitoes despite all the water! Should note that the pool was closed 2(+?) days a week, so we were unable to swim there during our stay which was a bit of a bummer. Also the big hall seemed unavailable (locked) AND check in was a strict 2-6pm or a $35 charge.

They were very accommodating in allowing us to switch sites from 14 to 352. Site 352 was absolutely lovely! Private and secluded. Under the trees. Exactly what we need to unplug and get some rest. 14 was out in the open and not at all what we were expecting. The picnic tables should be updated. 😊 Thought the firewood was a little expensive. We absolutely had such a restful time tho! Loved how quiet the campground is! Close enough to Lake Erie to drive and enjoy the beautiful waters there! Thank you!!

Not very happy with the anti trans comments from the fellow campers. Picked this as an escape from reality for my kids birthday. Will not camp here again especially after the owner claimed to be an ex cop an arrest my son for spinning out on gravel. Was he going too fast yes about 10 mph he is a new driver cut him some slack.

This campground is very quiet. The biggest thing that stood out is the size of each site. There is a pond for swimming and floating. Several ponds for catch and release fishing. Saw several bass get caught.

We loved the site, the grounds are beautiful, well kept and spacious. Although the area had significant amounts of rain, the maintenance staff did a wonderful jobs of grading the roads and keeping the muddy spots at bay. We had a great view of the lake that you can kayak on. The campground also had a pond for swimming, with a sand beach and another pond for catch and release fishing. It also had a swimming pool and nice playgrounds for kids too. However, no site had sewer, but there is a dump station. Other than that, we would definitely revisit here. Staff is informative and friendly.

Due to a mix up with their Hipcamp information we arrived on a Tuesday when the owners thought they had no campers coming in. I had everything on my phone to show our reservations and payment so we joked that we were the unknown campers or squatters the rest of our stay. Even with the rough start "Squatch" was friendly, accommodating, and has a good sense of humor. Our site, #68 was perfect for us, it looked out at both the swimming lake and one of the smaller fishing lakes. The walk to the shower house was reasonably short, the restroom/showerhouse is well built with flush toilets and hot showers. My husband and brother-in-law fished in the mornings, catching Bluegill and Bass before we headed out to explore the area. The drive to Cuyahoga Valley National Park was easy and allowed for hiking, our dog enjoyed playing in the Brandywine creek on our hike and we all enjoyed seeing the falls. We also ventured out to take in a couple of lighthouses, and had dinner at the dog friendly Old Firehouse Winery while enjoying live music. Hidden Lake Family Campground provided the best of everything, we ventured out and found a little nightlife one night but mostly we enjoyed being able to return to relax around a campfire, fish, and just enjoy the quiet nights for sleeping.

Had a great time, cleaner and more accessible than any campground I’ve been to in a while. Actually caught like 6 fish in the span of 30 mins with a fly pole in their beautiful lake. I highly recommend stopping here.

We had so much fun here! Was quiet and our spot was shaded perfectly for our tent outfit! The pool and swimming lake kept my 8 year busy the entire weekend! Loved the tractor ride and Sasquatch hunting with marshmallows! My girls and I love this place and will be back on the weekends!
