I had a lot of fun on this trip! The dome was nice and comfy even though there were a bit of ladybugs inside seeking warmth I assume. I didn’t mind either way because being in nature comes with the bugs. speaking of warmth, the heater kept us warm throughout the night even overheating us at points until we realized there was a temperature set on it. I’m very glad that accommodation was there for the cold. I do suggest getting there before it starts getting dark so you can get a fire going for light when nighttime comes. Even though the bathroom is a bit of walk (as expected with camping), it was a very nice bathroom and well kept. Definitely bring some flashlights or have your phone with you for light because there isn’t too much lighting provided outside except for some lamps and ground lights here and there along the trail to the dome. The area around the dome and the dome itself felt very private and secluded so it really made you feel immersed in nature. I saw some reviews saying all they heard were cars because it is next to a road, but the dome is up in the hills so there were barely cars driving by and I didn’t notice them. I also saw reviews saying the dome in right next to the owners home and it didn’t feel private. Even though I saw the home in the distance, They have fences built around the dome to ensure campers’ privacy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and suggest it for anyone looking for a getaway. One night was a relief from our unnaturally busy lives!

Earth Dome ~ "Comfort Camping"
This was a really peaceful and chill experience. We came out to get away from the city and it was a perfect little retreat. The stay was well accommodated and the dome tent was such a fresh and easy way to camp. Even though it rained, we stayed dry and the next day was lovely enough to enjoy some of the great natural hikes in the area.

Best hipcamp I’ve stayed in by far! Marci has created such a calm and tranquil space that provides the best parts of camping (wildlife, nature sounds, fire pit) with enough amenities for total comfort. I felt very safe camping alone at the site and am grateful that Marci accommodated a same-day stay. I will definitely be back! If you’re looking for a good local hike, I recommend Lookout Trail at Buzzards Roost.

Very sweet and accommodating hostess. Nice bathrooms and fun greenhouse shower. The Geo Domes feel safe and is a fun glamping experience. You have to experience this diamond in the ruff small town. America at its finest way of life! Great Recreational Cannabis Dispensary nearby called Ascend in Carroll, OH. Hip downtown historical scene in Lancaster. Experience the healing sacred lands and spacious dome equipped with features.

We loved the Dome! The bed was so comfy, we slept great! The greenhouse shower was fantastic. Plenty of hot water. It was perfect for a quick getaway. Our only challenge was getting our things up the hill. My husband and I are older, and it was tricky. Other than that, we had a great time and would stay again.

This dome offers an unusual and eye-catching accommodation, but travelers should be aware of several practical factors before booking. Privacy is minimal - there are no blinds, and the walking path passes less than 10 feet from the window. The location is near a road, and semi-truck braking is clearly audible at times. Neighboring Airbnbs and homes occasionally play music at volumes where bass vibrations can be felt inside.
The property is part of a larger space used for yoga retreats, and during our stay, a retreat brought more than 20 cars, which surrounded the dome and made vehicle movement difficult. The on-site shower is semi-transparent, and restroom facilities are inside the owner’s home, accessed through their living space. There’s no way to know if it’s locked from their side, as they have their own entrance.
Inside the dome, we encountered cockroach activity. Ventilation is limited to the door, and with its plastic windows and insulated walls, the dome traps heat, becoming uncomfortably warm during much of the summer day. There is no picnic table, which makes outdoor cooking challenging, and the firewood provided contained large ant colonies. Multiple wasps were inside the dome upon arrival.
While this stay may appeal to those seeking an unconventional, community-adjacent glamping experience, guests looking for seclusion, cooler interiors, or uninterrupted privacy may want to weigh these factors carefully before booking.

This made for a wonderful stay during our visit to Hocking Hills! The instructions from Marci were clear, and everything was easy to find and use. The new outdoor shower was refreshing and added to the overall experience, and the bathroom was nice and clean. The temperature in the dome was perfect, but there was a fan and a space heater provided, along with a mini fridge that came in handy. Some of the outdoor lights weren't working (or just not charged enough by the sun), but the pathway had lights that assisted in walking in the dark. Though this location is about 40 minutes away from most Hocking Hills activities, it was a reasonable price, and away from all the busyness of tourists. Chillicothe was a cute town to explore and had great eats!

Our stay here was incredible. Marci was welcoming and generous and the dome itself was so much fun to stay in. She lives on the property within view of the dome and is just a short walk down to the bottom of the hill (where the restroom and shower is, too). There are neighbors just on the other side of the dome, too, but wooden fence dividers retained our privacy. Everything was so clean. We even got to use the larger dome, meant for yoga retreats and group classes, as our own private yoga studio for a day. This is a beautiful place to stay and we’d love to come back!

We had a lovely time on Marci’s property - she was a great host. We walked the loop on the property which our dog loved exploring and sat around the campfire that night. The bathroom was beautiful - we were only there one night so did not use the shower but it looked very nice. Would go back! (We do recommend bringing tick repellant as you would with any wooded area)

The site was very well maintained and wonderful for feeling a part of nature while still having some shelter from the elements and creepy crawlies. The only negatives were the fact that the bathroom was down a bit of a steep hill that was completely dark after sunset so was hard to navigate down and when we did we found that the toilet was out of commission so we ended up having to leave pretty early the next day so we could find a working bathroom.

Had a great weekend alone here. It was exactly what I needed. Very clean, unique, and well made!! Marci was very kind and I was lucky enough to meet her mother who has lived there 20+ years (I think!). Can’t wait to go back and may also hold a group retreat in her amazing meditative dome. The perfect 50 min escape if you are in Columbus.

Clean and cozy - it was a unique little getaway for hubby and I. Even though it was a bit nippy outside, the heated blanket and small heater kept it comfy inside for us. Thanks Marci!

The landscape is picture perfect. A gentle rising hillside of tall hardwoods for 180 degrees is your view from the large, fully graveled parking area. Deer are on site every single morning and night of the 4 nights I stayed and as close as 30 yards all the time. A quick walk up a gentle single track trail on the right leads to the small geo dome where you have total privacy. The dome is awesome, the bed and pillows are SUPER comfortable, and just the space heater is all I needed to keep it warm in there while the outside dipped to 40 nightly. I didn’t need the electric blanket at all. The cedar wood greenhouse with on demand hot water shower was amazing, I miss it already. The plumbed bathroom inside supplemented the need for a sink and mirror. Hosting was flawless and Very responsive to answer all questions. Overall, my stay was amazing and I highly recommend this Hipcamp!

Earth Dome ~ "Comfort Camping"
Absolutely loved our last minute get away at the dome! It was so quiet and peaceful. The dome was chilly at night but the heated blanket was a god send! Woke up and watched a Doe search for food for a good 30 minutes before getting up! Marci was quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay. Thanks again for a unique stay!

Overall we had a great experience and it was something unique that I am glad we were able to share as a group. However, based on my entire interaction with the host she explained that she really doesn't like hosting groups in the larger dome in which we stayed in. She commented on unlisting it as a lodging option on this site and I agree that she would probably be better off listing just the smaller dome for 1-4 guests instead.

The shower house was amazing.!!! And the woods we stunning and full of wildlife !

So Relaxing, Peaceful and well appointed. The terrain to the site was so easily navigated and while we came prepared for hot and possibly stormy weather, the Dome was the PERFECT napping space and Marci supplied all we really needed. We will be back!

This dome tent was very pretty and characteristic! Nice views inside and out, fans, mini fridge, and comfy bed. We enjoyed looking up through the sky lights when it rained. Bathroom and shower nearby. Perfect spot to get away with a cute trail on the property. We hiked at nearby Great Seal and Buzzard’s Roost. We’ll be back!
