STATUS REPORT: totally intact after hurricane. No damage and the land is not flooded. Even RVs can drive to the creek. Attention RV and van-lifers, here's your safe haven! Introducing a brand-new listing, and I'm seeking your assistance in navigating the ins and outs of hosting. Located just 25 minutes from downtown Asheville, this property sits in a rural, fertile valley, offering breathtaking views to the north and south. Encompassing a total of 23 acres, 5 of which are nearly flat and ideal for parking/camping, while the remainder provides excellent hiking opportunities. A charming bubbling creek, a storage barn suitable for construction or running a business, and the promise of future hydro-power with solar and a battery bank by the creek add to the property's appeal. For those parking near the main house, a 120v extension cord is available for power and internet access. Alternatively, if you prefer to park by the creek, please note that there is currently no power, internet, or water available in that area, though plans are underway for hydro-power with solar and a battery bank. IMPORTANT NOTE: heavy rains turn this area into a mess, it can be tricky to get in and out after a big rain. You are welcome to park at the top by the barn and walk down with a tent, but your RV could get stuck, so keep that in mind. Anticipate future offerings with RV power hookups. Presently, the amenities are somewhat rustic, serving as a trial to gauge interest. Composting outhouse is available now!. Rainwater and shallow well water are provided. Looking for a place to park your vehicle while you convert it into your home on wheels? Happy to set that up with power, water, and even a barn in which to work. Looking for a getaway? Don't need power and water? Pick one of three spots for your tent or off-grid RV. We do have well water to fill your tanks. Down by the creek is most peaceful. There’s almost no cell service in the valley and it’s smart to get your directions before you leave town. I’ll create a sign soon but for now you’ll be looking for a White House with black shutters on the left side of the road. Need to keep in mind that the ground can be soft if recent heavy rains, which could make getting in and out a challenge, but this is rare. Message me if you have concerns and a heavy vehicle. Please note: any single booking includes ONE car at the campsite. Extra vehicles can be stored behind the barn.

Looking for a getaway? Don't need power and water? This campsite is secluded and offers incredible views to the north and south with a fire pit. For a cool swim in a 6' swimming hole, the creek is just 100 feet away. Just pass the red barn, pass the fork in the path, and you'll see it on your left. There’s almost no cell service in the valley and it’s smart to get your directions before you leave town. You’ll be looking for a White House with black shutters on the left side of the road. Need to keep in mind that the ground can be soft if recent heavy rains, which could make getting in and out a challenge, but this is rare. Message me if you have a heavy vehicle. Reid's place was a great spot to camp the night! Only 30 mins from downtown Asheville. No/very little light pollution, so I could see the starry sky clearly. Level ground good for tent setup. Fire pit was well placed. It was very peaceful falling asleep to the sound of the running water in the nearby creek and waking up to the soft bellows of pasture cows in the distance. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you!

We had a great time camping here! The camping sites are in a large grassy meadow/field which sits in a valley with beautiful mountain views. A creek runs through the property, and there are lots of farms nearby. The facilities were very minimal for our tent site, only an outhouse which was perfectly fine with us. Everything was as described in the listing. This spot was centrally located to the places we wanted to visit (such as Pisgah NF, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, etc.), while still being far enough out to enjoy some peaceful, quiet mornings & evenings. We would definitely recommend this site and would love to come back!

It was super nice! Reid was super nice and made sure he got the bundle of firewood out. There were also other people on the land but they were so far away so it was still secluded. Amazing views as well both at the campsite and around the area.

I've stayed here twice and would stay here again. It's a beautiful, quiet valley outside of Asheville. There is also a nice, bubbling creek nearby for a relaxing backdrop. I don't require any hookups so this place is perfect. Only note is that the spots down by the creek could be slippery after a lot of rain due to the slope of the topography.

We had a great time at this campsite. It’s in the back yard of someone’s home but it was very quiet. The host was very communicative and gave us great hiking recommendations. I would stay again.

This campsite is truly a gem tucked away in the mountains. The property is beautifully maintained, quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Reid was extremely helpful and made sure to let me know ahead of time that he’d be out of town but that someone would be available if I needed anything. I did get the chance to meet Brian who introduced himself. We had a great time here and really enjoyed the mountain setting. Overall, a wonderful spot that I’d gladly return to

I had a wonderful time at this campsite! It was beautiful everywhere I looked. I was happy to see so many butterflies flying around and enjoyed the creek nearby too. It was a perfect quick little getaway from Asheville.

My boyfriend and I loved camping on Reid’s land. We pitched our tent at the creek side site and cooked dinner over the fire. The views were gorgeous. It was nice to have access to the creek because it was super hot until the sun went down. Came from Asheville so it was a nice little escape and we’ll recommend our friends.

Great stay here! Easy-to-follow directions, great communication from Reid, plenty of space to spread out and still feel private. Fell asleep to the sound of the creek and awoke to birdsong. The views are expansive and beautiful. Very green and lush. It's a really pretty drive out there and the local market (Grateful Roots) is an excellent breakfast stop. Would recommend, and would stay again. ☀️

I really loved this spot! despite all the rain the site stayed pretty dry, had gorgeous views, and the host was super communicative. I’d love to come back to hear the cows and see the light night bugs!

Reid has a nice piece of property. The view is amazing and there is nice space between campsites. We were a bit disappointed to find that we were camping in a narrow strip next to an unmowed field. We were under the impression that the field would be usable for activities but it was not. Also a fire pit located near our site and a table would have been nice touches. Overall a good stay and Reid was an accomodating host.

I know Reid personally and he’s very attentive and motivated. He’s building a beautiful space. He wasn’t at all upset when we had to call an audible on the amount of people staying. The ony issue we had was we needed a little bit more mowed space but that’s it. Thanks Reid!

Very cool space, and nice sunrise. Our host even left a sign with our name on it to mark our spot because we told him we wouldn’t there until dark. Would stay here again!!!!

My sister and I car-camped on Reid’s land, and it was awesome! We parked down by the creek, and it was so peaceful. The WiFi worked well for us, and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Very nice area. Not too far from Asheville. Reid is very welcoming. There is a good Wi-Fi connection if you stay not far from the house. Very useful since my cell service was almost up nothing. I will be back there.

My partner I just needed a peaceful quiet, but reasonably priced place to crash after visiting Asheville. Reid’s property was quiet, and charming with a little creek next to the field. We didn’t use the power hookup, but appreciated the early morning bathroom. Thank you for the last minute accomadation!!

I enjoyed my stay at Turkey Creek! Reid was communicative and has a beautiful property. Unfortunately, we were just there to sleep on a cross-country road trip and didn’t get to fully enjoy our time, but parking by the creek was peaceful and the sunrise was stunning to wake up to. I would highly recommend a visit!

I would highly recommend staying out here to anyone. Whether you’re staying for a day or a month, the owner of the property is a very nice guy and is very eager to make sure you feel at home. The land is beautiful and is surrounded by mountains. There is a nice creek at the end of the land as well. Beautiful area and only 17 minutes to a grocery store. Don’t hesitate to book here at the beautiful oasis. God Bless!
