If you're looking to escape to the mountains, look no further! Wild Ridge Trail is a place where you can come to unwind, relax, and take in the fresh air of our N.C. mountains! We are located only 10/15 minutes from all of the exciting things Asheville has to offer and just as close to the charming small town of Black Mountain! The cabin at wild ridge is OFF GRID (meaning no power or running water) but I promise, with our solar panels and rain collection system you won't miss being ON the grid at all! The cabin and the drive (or hike) up was designed for the adventurous at heart! So, drive on up if you have 4WD or AWD and if you don't, no worries! Just park in the designated space, grab your gear and hike on up! (The hike in is steep... about 300 ft but takes less than 5 minutes) We have a cooler up there for any perishables you may have, just bring ice :) Please note: We have to close the outdoor heated shower during the cold winter months, however we provide an all season 5 gallon solar shower bag to use during this time. We also have a list at the cabin of other places nearby that provide hot showers in the winter months for a small fee. In the rare event that heavy snow is expected, we will have to close the road leading up to the cabin because of its steepness. If this occurs, you will be given a full refund for the cancellation. To heat the cabin, there is a un-vented wall mounted heater that heats the space really well! Since the cabin is insulated, the heater works quick to heat the small area up so you will stay nice and cozy!If you're looking to escape to the mountains, look no further! HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE: AFTER 2 months of being closed due to neighboring property landslides, our cabin is finally back open, and the Asheville area is welcoming visitors!! Small businesses in and around the Asheville area need your support!! Please visit the area with patience and a kind heart! Just so there are no surprises... on your way up to the cabin you will see missing asphalt in an area (you will have to go slow over the bumpy rough area) you will also see some mud piled up on the sides of the road in areas from where we had some gracious volunteers clear a way up to the cabin! Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these difficult times. Our cozy glamping cabin is off grid and unique! It is sure to leave you yearning for more time here! So, come escape the hustle and bustle of normal everyday life and get back to nature! PLEASE NOTE: The cabin at Wild Ridge was designed for the adventurous at heart! Drive on up if you have AWD or 4WD, and if you don't, no worries! Incredible fall weekend!
The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
Our parents stayed at the cabin over a fall weekend in late October and it was perfect! We had a campfire, an outing to Asheville and a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and spent a rainy day cozied up in the cabin playing card games and chatting. You are immersed in the trees at the cabin and they have done such a wonderful job of making every part feel well thought out and cared for. The toilet and shower felt cozy, even outside! Deserae responded to all my messages promptly and communicated well! Our parents, visiting from Ireland, said it was one of our best vacation spots and they had such a refreshing time.

Perfect Fall getaway
The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
This was such a cool cabin. Waking up to the trees right outside the big garage door was amazing. The swing was such a highlight! We had a perfect vacation here. Warning though, pack light unless you have a 4w drive vehicle that can make it up the trail (we didn't). The hike up to the cabin is a strenuous if you have a lot of things to carry.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
This campsite was phenomenal. The hosts have everything you may need there (and more). We are grateful for the opportunity to stay here and enjoy our time by the campfire. We also went for a nice hike nearby at Catawba Falls. Don’t forget to stop at Recess Cafe in Black Mountain along the way!

Beautiful spot! The cabin was super comfortable, had everything we needed. Lots of outdoor space and plenty of privacy. We absolutely loved the garage door and mixed indoor/outdoor vibes it allowed. We’re already thinking about when to come back!

This place is amazing! Was there over new years and it was COLD, but there was a gas heater which was amazing. It was a perfect place to escape and reset.

Really beautiful cabin! A 4WD will be needed to get up to the cabin. The hike up is not too long, but definitively steep and not something to sneeze at. The outdoor shower was wonderful and the toilet very cool! Definitively bring some lanterns. But overall, the cabin and the kitchen was well stocked and we really appreciated having fresh eggs to enjoy! Deserae was a wonderful host! She was quick to respond, helpful and very accommodating. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in the Asheville area!

Perfect 4x4 Getaway
The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
We had an amazing time at Wild Ridge! Loved the fact that we HAD to use 4x4 to get up the mountain and once we were there almost didn't want to leave. All the little details inside and out made it feel home-y, while still enjoying each night by firelight and candles. The fenced deck was a huuuge plus for us with our 2 adventurous dogs! We hope to be back and enjoy more sunset views!

LOVED IT!!! So serene and relaxing can’t say enough good things about it. The only thing I would keep in mind is you do not have 4WD be ready for a short steep hike!

Off-grid, beautiful cabin. Be ready
The Cabin At Wild Ridge Trail
Beautiful OFF GRID cabin that is super well appointed. I really enjoyed my stay here, I will be back, you should be ready for the off-grid stay. The driveway DOES need an AWD or 4WD vehicle. The toilet is super cool, but follow the directions. The shower is amazing! Rainwater fed and a propane heater warms it up, but expect the water to smell a bit like stream water. There is no wired electricity, so bring a lantern. A small battery pack is available for charging your devices. There is some solar lighting, but you will want more light - especially for cooking once the sun goes down. The cabin was super inspiring and gave me inspiration to build a place like this for myself. Off-grid cabins configured like this are far more comfortable than I had imagined.

Exceptional time in the mountains

We loved our time at this spot so so much. Close proximity to the blue ridge parkway for Mountain hiking, and Asheville for food and entertainment. However the campsite alone is a DESTINATION all by itself. Once you are here you really might not want to leave. (And with a conveniently located grocery just a few minutes a way, you could stock up and do just that for a few days) 10/10 would recommend.

It was such a great stay for us and our pup! Shoutout to Deserae for being such an accommodating host with a quick response time when we messaged her. The cabin was super cozy and we could watch the sunrise and sunset from the bed. There are a lot of trails and things to do super close by and there’s stores within a 10 minute drive in case you forget something. We definitely want to come back again!

We loved the cozy and beautiful cabin on the mountain! It was well made, very comfortable, and had everything you need. The heater kept it perfectly warm even in 20 deg temps. We had no problem getting up the hill with 4wd. We’ll definitely be back!

Deaerea was a great host! Very quick to respond, kind, and helpful with any questions. The cabin is exactly as pictured! The only thing is that it is in a bit of a residential area and not quite as secluded as it seems. This wasn’t an issue though, as we were up away from everyone and only on occasion heard a person or dog. You can see houses from the cabin though. There are also many more “amenities” than expected. She had multiple heaters, lanterns, condiments, games, a power bank, etc. Additionally, grocery stores and such are only about 10 minutes away, which was very convenient. Altogether, we had a great time at the Cabin at Wild Ridge and would go again! :)

The Cabin was so cute, the hike up to it is no joke, would recommend if you’re not driving up to pack a smaller bag of just what you needed. The portable heater is a champ, it was like 38F and we were fine. The only downside in the winter is there isn’t a shower available. There is only the outdoor shower and a list of places around that you can pay to go take a shower. But the sunset view while lying in bed was amazing.

This place had everything you would want. It was great being provided all the kitchen things as well as the blankets and extra batteries that are also hard to remember qhen packing for a trip. The view was amazing, and it was a great space for a getaway.

We loved staying at this little cabin. It had a lot of really thoughtful details that made our stay comfortable and fun. The description was accurate so we knew what to expect and the host was very communicative leading up to our stay giving us all the details we needed. It got chilly but the heater provided was more than sufficient. Only 15-20 min drive from Asheville so it felt like we were somewhat off the grid but still easily accessible to things. We loved the sunset view and the swing :)

This was such a beautiful cabin in a beautiful place. Easy drive from downtown Asheville with restaurants and grocery store within 5-10 mins. My little car definitely couldn’t make it up the gravel drive (which was expected) so we parked in the parking spot at the bottom. As soon as we walked in me and my pup Dakota felt at home. From the welcome sign and dog treats and all the personal touches in this cabin I truly never wanted to leave. There wasn’t a detail that was left out.

Absolutely loved our stay at Wild Ridge Trail! The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed, even provided coffee to enjoy out on the deck while soaking in the beautiful view! From the view from inside the cabin to the deck and fire pit area, we barely wanted to leave the cabin we enjoyed the space so much ! They even had a dog bed and treats for our pups :)

My daughter and I wanted to hike off the Blue RIdge Parkway and spend the night nearby in a seculded natural setting - without having to set up and take down a tent. This cabin tucked on a hilllside in the woods was the perfect spot for us! We loved the aesthetic of the cabin itself and the thoughtful personal touches - flowers in the bathroom, welcome on the table and firepit set up for a fire. The kitchen was outfitted with more than I expected. Loved the fairy lights, outdoor solar powered lights on deck, path and above picnic table. The swing was a fun surprise that we both enjoyed.

After hauling up the gravel hill a beautiful cabin appears! Equipped with more than you could need and thoughtful touches inside and out, you’re sure to enjoy your stay here! View of the trees from the bed out the roll up door and many beautiful windows sealed the deal on this trip. With proximity to Asheville, we’ll definitely be staying here again!
