There was an absurd amount of dog shit. When I say absurd I mean every few feet massive mounds. Completely ruined multiple pairs of shoes other wise was very cute.

Great First Time Camping Experience

We loved tent camping on Ashley's land! He was very hospitable and kind. We loved hearing about all the animals and things he was doing with his time. We were right by the creek, so at night it was very soothing. Our children loved playing and throwing the ball with Ashley's dogs. It was our first time camping, so we didn't know what to expect but it was one of the best experiences yet and there was even a shower! We can't wait to go back! Thanks for the great time guys!

I loved camping here! My friends and I spent a couple of nights here and had an awesome time. The owner Ashley was so kind. He also had 6 super sweet dogs who would come visit us daily.

So peaceful and pretty!

It is a beautiful spot next to a creek. We woke up to ducks in the morning feeding and playing, and got to fall asleep to the running water at night. There were plenty of other campers - everyone was friendly and Ashely was an extremely helpful host. He is very present, and brings a great vibe. The bathrooms were almost always accessible, even with plenty of people there. The land was so unique. It is located perfectly close to Asheville and BMT - the drive was scenic and easy. Our one complaint (I say lightheartedly because it was truly no matter to us) was the wifi did not reach our camping spot. We figured this was the universe telling us to logout for awhile anyways(: It was a lovely stay and we plan to come back with friends and family in the future.

#18 Across The Creek@ Stoney Creek

Ashley was so accommodating. The guy driving the golf cart picked a bone with my husband at 7:30am about us parking in the wrong place, as if there was anything we could do about it then. The numbers were very unclear. We couldn’t even find #18, and asked 3 neighboring campers if they knew where the number was. I walked to the blue office and around the greenhouses and no one was there. The dude gave my husband an unnecessarily tough time…all it did was give my husband the impression that the golf cart guy was on an ego trip with no desire to actually be helpful. It was bizarre. My recommendation after staying here would be to clearly mark the campsites. Weather-worn spray paint and non-chronological campsite placements was not helpful. On the positive, we much appreciated the heated bathroom, close proximity to the creek, personal fire pits and table. The views were great and the sunset was gorgeous and so easy to see.

#9 Stoney Creek Oasis Campsite

It was okay. We got there late at night and there was no lights at all so it was really difficult to see where we were going. The sign was also very overgrown so we never really knew. The pictures are very deceiving and it is not like the pictures. We texted both hosts that we couldn’t find our spot but never got a response, granted we got there late but still have not gotten one 24 hours after. We couldn’t find the bathroom or amenities. The picnic tables are labeled with your number but your neighbors are very close (we could see everyone from our table) and we actually never found our table so ended up having to stay at another empty one. We did get there late at night so it was very dark, but the directions were unclear which did not help. We just needed someplace safe to stay for the night while passing through so it definitely got the job done and I would have liked to see the creek if we got there early, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend unless you’re in a pinch like we were. Communication was difficult. Definitely wasn’t private.

The site was fine. The stone fire ring was nice, the bathroom was a plus. There was a fair amount of dog poop piles, which is ok. We have dogs and I get it. But stepping in a pile on accident was not the best. Ashley was very nice when we talked with him. I do reach out to ask a question and didn’t get a response. But I was able to get my issue solved. Overall it was good. The creek was nice and for being a rainy weekend, it worked out well.

The spaces weren't labeled. The bathroom is kinda far from the sites. But host was happy to help. Communication with host wasn't ideal. The ducks on the property were super cute. The dogs were super friendly. We ended up in space #2.

#3 Stoney Creek Oasis Campsite

Was advertised with site numbers painted on picnic benches. My site was not on any picnic table, the wifi that was advertised didn’t even work, made me think I wasn’t in the right place but everything else looked like a sorta description from the app like being in a field sort of. Ended up leaving and not staying because I didn’t trust we were supposed to be there, couldn’t find site #5, the sites were not set up like the description said, all out of order or not there at all. Says to go through a green gate but signs saying basically you shouldn’t enter. Did not feel safe.

Beautiful piece of land nestled at the foot of a valley. Great babbling clear water creek with small fish and a nice sized swimming hole my six year old son enjoyed tremendously.

The site itself was beautiful. We had a great view of the mountains and the creek right next to us. It was easy to get to everything we wanted to do as well. The downsides – I’m not sure how often the owner walks the grounds and checks things out after people leave. There were two piles of feces at our campsite that we noticed as soon as we pulled up. If you have dogs, this may not be the spot for you, as the owner seems to let his dogs roam the property. The spot can also be quite loud during the day, as it is right next to the road. There were also some super loud explosions right next to the site the weekend we were there. Not sure what that was about. Overall, it got the job done and we had a nice weekend despite these things.

Overall a great campsite. The directions to get there were very clear, and falling asleep to the sound of the creek was so nice. My only downside is that the numbers were supposed to be on the picnic tables for each site, but almost all the picnic tables were gone. I think someone else was in my site, but as I was staying one night, I didn’t mind not having a picnic table or fire pit. I wish sites were labeled some other way

Overall a good experience, laid back owners, maintained space. They did have one dog who was not very friendly, but they had a few others who were very nice. The creek was beautiful and the views were great, thought it was pretty close to the road and we could hear neighbors playing music and working. It was easy to get to town and had WiFi, if you’re looking for something remote and peaceful this isn’t your spot, but if you want a safe place to come back to after a day of hiking this will do!

Amazing stay here for 10 days. Right on the river and secluded but close to many trails and city's. Ashley made sure everything was alright and his dogs are a wonderful perk of the site. Will recommend and come back!

A true oasis

This place is amazing, it is the perfect place to get away from the worries and stress of the world and connect with the simple beauty of nature. The sounds of the creek and the light coming through the trees will recharge your spirit, while sleeping under the starry sky will bring a since of peace to your mind. It is simple but not primitive, there is a bathroom, shower and even a laundry machine to help feel fresh as you unwind in the sunshine.

Very nice setting in the valley. Ashley was very nice and only there if we needed him. Access to surrounding areas was good, but being away from the hustle and bustle was nice.
