camp spot was flawless and cheryl was very accommodating! we plan to visit again in the summer so my kids can fish and we can enjoy the nice, peaceful scenery in the warm weather! my lab loved being able to play fetch and get in the [ freezing ] cold water without being on a leash :)

So the site was not as expected so we decided to leave and go to another place for the remainder of the weekend.
The site does not allow for use of a camper as it is intended. The space is small, the hookups are on the wrong side which caused concern for tripping over the cords/hose. It is definitely not a "pull in" site as out tow vehicle would have taken up the majority of the pad. We were unable to utilize our awning and there was no sufficient place to set up a hangout area outside. It was crowded and provided no privacy due to the house right next to it. It has the potential to be a great place but seemed like an after thought to add the site with no planning. We also did not feel safe because the camper sunk into the ground overnight so the lack of stability was apparent.

Had a great time at cheryl’s land backs right up to the river against a garage which actually helped on the last night there was as a storm came through and it blocked a lot of the winds. We have 2 german shepherd’s and they wore us out walking and swimming in the new river. Unfortunately wasnt so private as there was another couple there from Saturday to Monday so had to keep the dogs on leash till they left. Will definitely be going back will just verify before wether anyone else has rented lodging in the home on property. But again had a great time .

What a beautiful place by the river! We enjoyed exploring around West Jefferson and Boone. We have a travel trailer and we decided to back in to the site so we could go site seeing in our truck. That made the hook ups a little tricky but it worked.

Absolutely perfect! Our first trip with a newly acquired older camper with some issues, as well as dogs whom have never been camping. This campsite was level, and all the hookups to water, electrical, sewer were very easy right at your finger tips! Great view and access to the river. Will definitely be back !!!!

We had an awesome time staying on the river. The spot was level, making set up that much easier. It was really nice having a view of the river from the back of the camper! The deer grazing about right across the water were serene and our dog loved getting to jump in as well.

This camper spot is the best of both worlds. Sitting adjacent New River which welcomes you in for a cool wade, a relaxing sit or even fishing. The views have a mostly private feel allowing for exceptional relaxation, especially in the evening and nighttime when the highway noise abates.
An exceedingly well maintained lot with nearly perfectly level gravel camper pad sits among gravel walkways and alongside a small garage. Full hookups are easily accessible. There are two other vacation rentals on the property, but they are mostly-self-contained cabins. They were both occupied during my stay but were not intrusive whatsoever.
Plenty of space for your dogs to roam and explore, and there’s even a fire pit right near the water. A perfect place to see deer, raccoons, frogs and plenty of birds including ducks!
The site is well located off the highway and close to Jefferson, Boone and many other small towns.
I highly recommend staying here and hope to stay again soon! Thanks Cheryl!

Incredible river front camping! My wife, 3 kids, and our black lab, spent 2 nights here and wish we could have stayed longer!! The river was amazing to wade in. Our kids spent hours playing in the water. We did some fishing and enjoyed watching the deer crossing the river in the evenings. We’ve camped many places, and this spot is one of our favorites! We will be back!!

We had a FANTASTIC time at the river spot of Cheryl’s. It was serene and peaceful. We so enjoyed watching the deer cross the river in the am and the lightening bugs in the evening. What a wonderful experience. We’d highly recommend.

It’s a nice place but if you want privacy, quiet and solitude, this is not the place for you. The host was nice and helpful. The power and water worked. The internet worked mostly.

Very peaceful spot! Loved going to sleep with the river gurgling in the background.
Hookups were all 100%. The only missing element was no fire pit, otherwise a great venue.

Miss Cheryl was a great camp host with a wonderful RV site located right on the river where it was nice to get out and stretch and walk our dogs. We stayed at Miss Cheryl’s for a couple of weeks due to circumstances, and she was gracious enough to allow us. Great spot! It was peaceful and quiet. Our dogs love the grassy area & we loved seeing the wildlife on the river. The dumps are on the back side, easy to do once we packed up. The power/water is also on the opposite side, our 25ft hose did reach it fine. We will be back!

Cheryl's spot is absolutely phenomenal. It's a picturesque lot tucked away from the highway, so you have your own area to relax and unwind. We had our Starlink up with no issues, so we could work the entire time, and Cheryl was extremely responsive with everything! I highly recommend this HipCamp 💜💜

We had such a great stay here. It's such a beautiful spot and, even though we didn't have much desire to leave, the location is perfect for exploring the area - from West Jefferson to Boone. Being right on the river was perfect for the hot August days. Cheryl was a great host and the hookups/wifi worked well. We highly recommend this hipcamp and hope to return!

Cheryl is a great host and has a wonderful property. Excellent way to visit West Jefferson and the surrounding area. Everything is clean with great access to the river. In 3 years of rving and going to KOAs, state parks, and rv resorts, this was my favorite stay. Great to wade or fish in the river. Mountainaire golf course is nearby, and the town of West Jefferson is always worth a visit. I will definitely be back to this amazing property! Keep in mind the road coming in is narrow and the hookups are on the opposite side. No issue however, as we have a 36ft 5th wheel and plenty of hose.

Cheryl has a beautiful spot on the river. Some neighbors but very quiet. Hookups were on the door side of my rig so I used the electric then dumped tanks before leaving. No problem finding with Google maps but approaching from south 221 a u-turn must be made, but turn around is easy. Very nice host with great communication. Would camp there again. It is about 30 minute drive from Boone North Carolina. West Jefferson is a neat little town. Great time was had by my whole family.👍

On The River is the perfect name for this peaceful spot. A delightful experience of what I imagined country living in the hills of North Carolina could be. It is a short distance from The Blue Ridge Parkway with many good hiking trails close by. After boon docking at near by federal parks it was great to plug in and catch up on life’s details with internet provided. It would be delightful to return to this spot again.

Serene and full of stars, this spot was fantastic! Enjoyed having morning coffee in the rustic chairs overlooking the South Fork of the New River! The driveway felt snug coming in but was easily navigable, even in our 36-foot 5th wheel with a full-bed extended cab tow vehicle. In fact, winding through the driveway added greatly to the sense of privacy. Communication about where to park was clear and timely, which made it easy to have a great time!
