Great campsite. We were planning to do some dispersed camping in the national forest but were worried about leaving our gear for hours at a time. We felt safe here and our belongings went undisturbed while we went on a few different outings. I’d strongly recommend this site if you want to camp while visiting Asheville and the surrounding area.

The spot was tucked away, felt private but close to town with stores. The view was incredible and the property was very spacious. The property had a picnic table which was not listed and some string lights which was nice to have! I would definitely come back again.

Nice private ridge along a mountain gravel road, trees for hammocks, we had 2 tents but I think there was another spot that would work for a third. There is a picnic table which was super convenient. Having the option of electricity was nice especially since I didn’t have to drag my CAT battery along this time. Close to town and the parkway. We had a great time. Would love to return.

Loved our quick stay and will absolutely be back! The location is up the ridge but easily manageable to get to with our truck and off road trailer. Extremely quiet and maybe saw 1 vehicle during our stay. Rigs would be parked closer to the road but if you are tent camping you can easily tuck back into the trees by the fire pit

We had a lovely overnight stay here :) Ground is level and area was very clean and well kept. There was plenty of privacy and the added picnic table was a plus. Would definitely recommend this spot for a mountain get away .

Really loved this site. Super private and only saw one or two cars on the gravel road my whole stay. The views are stunning in the morning and evening and the ridge is just cool on its own. Great for folks with reactive dogs too. Can’t really hear any other animals except far off in the distance.

Had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful site and surrounding views. Had good space and was able to set up an 8 person tent and 2 person tent without issue. The drive up was not too bad at all and our Chevy Trailblazer with 2WD and Jeep Cherokee with 2WD were able to make it up in the rain without issue.

The site was perfect for a weekend getaway, and so quiet I feel like I could hear a pin drop down in the valley. Having shore power is always a plus! I think I saw two cars pass the entire weekend and one was Jill leaving, so even though the site is right off of the driveway so to speak it felt extremely private. Not that it’s any surprise if you’re local to the mountains but the road up to the site is definitely steep and would recommend 4wd if the weather is questionable. With it still being very early spring time there was no sun coverage which albeit was beautiful for the 75 and sunny days we had.

Excellent view of the valley. Feels remote, but only a few minutes from town. They weren’t joking, the road is VERY steep, and also very narrow. Fortunately, we did not have a trailer. I would love to come back during spring. It was way too exposed to the wind for winter camping, even with the proper gear. I love a survival challenge, but it was not for the faint of heart! The valley had 30mph wind gusts and wind chill of 5. It was way more intense on the ridge though!

This is the second time we have stayed at this site. Once in early summer and now late fall. It is one of our favorites. We wanted to try some cooler weather camping to test out some new gear and this was the perfect spot. The leaves were mostly off the trees at the site, but the leaves on the surrounding mountains were still spectacular. I would recommend to anyone looking for views and a beautiful place to camp.

Very peaceful and relaxing spot. Had it all to myself. Felt safe too as I was camping alone with my dog. Town is close so that’s a plus. Got to see coyotes while I was driving down the mountain one morning and saw a few pileated woodpeckers among tons of other birds and wildlife. I had and amazing much needed trip. Would definitely camp here again.

We had such a a relaxing time on Jill and Fara's land. The communication was great... Directions led us right there with no problem!
The views were breathtaking with the leaves changing. We had plenty of room... We had tents. The electric was a absolute plus! We had perfect cell service! It was close the the Blue Ridge Pkwy which was beautiful during peak foliage. Feels far away but your close to grocery and gas. It was a quick drive to get to Maggie Valley. Had a great experience!!

Our stay at Jill and Fara’s land was extremely peaceful! We were able to let our dogs roam free and they had a blast. We took advantage of the fire pit and brought recliners to enjoy the view. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something outside of the city.

Overall we had a good experience. Directions to the site were great.
The views would have been great in the fall or winter when the leaves are off the trees. At the time we were there, the views were very obstructed. The site needed some maintenance and the campfire ring was too far away from the gravel campsite.
The site does feel very private and isolated, yet within about 15 minutes you can be at a grocery store or restaurant. We really enjoyed that. We ventured out and explored the town of Canton after hiking the hosts’ other property, which is really beautiful.

Responsive host, very nice. The space is very well maintained. Views are beautiful. The gravel path can be tough here and there for 2WD (We have a KIA Sorento) even when dry. There is no trail around but that was a nice spot to start the trails on blue ridge the next day. We liked the privacy.

What a great spot!! Absolute privacy and top of the Mountain View's. The driveway isn't too bad, but the road directly from I-40 is super steep. I found Upper Crabtree Mountain Rd, a few miles down, to be much more forgiving!!! Thanks Jill and Fara for a great stay!!

Girls Camping Weekend

This place is wonderful. The views were stunning and the site was spotless with freshly mowed grass, solar string lights, firepit and picnic table as well as a flat spot for a trailer (we had a roof top tent). It was a long and windy road to the top of the mountain, again with stunning views. The last 1/2 mile on the private dirt/gravel road was pretty easy for the Jeep, but may be a little challenging for a low slung car. We saw deer, heard owls and bull frogs and the bugs were minimal. There are two houses just off the trail but you would never know they were there except for the residence entering the property. We felt truly isolated but comforted know someone was close by if needed. Cell service was great on top of the mountain. Bring binoculars for a really great views of the other peaks around the area. We will be back!!
