Lower end 4 acres of the Property (3 acres of ponds and pasture)  is available for camping. 3 stocked ponds (for catch-n-release) and a mountain brook wrap around the bottom of the property. We are just 3 miles to Warren Wilson College equidistant between Asheville and Black Mountain.  We are on a Private Rd. with no light or noise pollution.

Nice and quiet with everything we needed! I like how close it is to downtown Asheville. It allowed us to explore the city when we wanted and then come back to peace and quiet in the mountains. I would definitely go back. (if it rains this particular site will be muddy, but they had a large tarp available which helped a lot.)

I've read reviews that complained about toilets/WiFi etc. If you are someone who is experienced with backpacking and other truly remote experiences, this will be such a cakewalk for you. You will not have internet, so come expecting to unplug. But Timothy takes care of the Port-O-Let which for me, was like glamping. The spot we chose is right across a stream from where we parked, very lovely. Timothy brought us a generous supply of firewood. It didn't get quite cold enough for us to use it and I brought my campstove so didn't need it for cooking, so we left it for the next campers. We had a beautiful dock with chairs over the pond to sit on in the evening. We used the 5 gallon jug of water Timothy provided for washing dishes and drinking on local hikes. We also had chairs at our campsite so we didn't need the chairs we packed. Really, I thought it had everything. He has a few sites on 10 acres so you might see others afoot but we didn't. We only saw Timothy at welcome, but we knew where to find him if we needed anything.

If you want to find a place hidden in the mountains, this is the place! Located on a fairly large property with different units spots spread around the property. A stream runs through much of the property, giving a beautiful sound of water throughout the property. Some hills driving in are a little steep and curvy.

Great area nice people, but wood we paid for was wet and would not light. Had to leave them behind. If coming around winter time I would recommend bringing own firewood.

Our host was really cool. He made sure we had everything we needed and helped us pick a spot that was best for us. After he helped get us situated he gave us our privacy and let us enjoy the time there. Really cool little hidden gem.

Amazing site! Would highly recommend to anyone. One small concern we had was a large amount of poison ivy scattered randomly around. Just keep an eye out for it and you won’t have a problem.

We had such a great time at this campsite! It’s nice being able to pick from a few different sites, and we chose a spot by the stream that ended up being perfect. Will definitely return!

Camping in the rural NC mountains

This was a nice spot in the mountains and not too far from the BRP. The site (#1) was a bit damp since the sun doesn’t seem to hit it much. There was a nice stream running behind it and a make-shift porta-potty tent! Fairly private site. We enjoyed our short time here!

Timothy’s property is beautiful and he hosts it so thoughtfully. He has a few different nooks along the hillside. My girlfriend and I stayed along the creek where Timothy had set up a tent, picnic table, hammock, water station, and even started a fire for us. He is generous and kind as a host. My girlfriend and I took the steep hike up the property hill and made a bush crafted fort, maybe it will still be there when you go. Be sure to take Timothy’s advice if other great nearby hikes

Babbling creek and crackling fire

My husband and I loved camping at Timothy's land. It was a winter wonderland. Snowy and peaceful! Very few cars drove by on the mountain road we were near. Timothy was friendly and personable, he helped us back into the site when our truck got stuck in the snow. He provided firewood and made sure we had everything we needed to stay safe and warm. There were no other campers at nearby sites so it was quiet and relaxing! Definitely highly recommend!

We had a great stay at this property. We showed up late and in the pouring rain and Timothy had started a fire for us. He was super responsive and gave us lot of suggestions for activities. The kids had a blast. Highly recommend this property.

Nice, semi-secluded campsite near a very low-traffic country road. Spacious site by a babbling brook that was pleasant to sleep by. There are a few sites and a house on the property, which made for a steady stream of neighborly noise throughout the weekend. But then again, it's pretty hard to go car camping and get total peace and quiet. Campground owner was friendly and accommodating.

The space was great, Timothy met us where he said and showed us where we would be camping. A porto toilet was set up a good distance from camp but was not difficult to get to. Another camp group had apparently canceled their trip so we were had more space to spread out our group.

Honestly I read the reviews prior and thought they were exaggerating. But they were not! Timothy was amazing. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable! We welcomed us with open arms and gave us suggestions for restaurants and fishing places. He brought us tons of fire wood, offered us lawn chairs and extra water. He constantly checked on us to make sure there was nothing else we needed. He was great! Highly recommend staying here!

This place was simply beautiful! Best Hipcamp spot ever. Pictures don’t do it justice! There are very private sites for tent camping as well as RV camping. We pulled our 19’ Airstream into a spot located between 2 small ponds stocked with bass! Behind our fire pit was an active stream that led to a waterfall. You could hear it at night! The property is super private and you one with nature. There are dozens of tree and bamboo varieties planted everywhere. Host Tim met us upon arrival in his four-wheeler. He is a HOOT! Super cool guy who loves his property, nature and music! He was fantastically accommodating and brought us firewood and anything we needed. This slice of heaven is up in the mountain (steep but paved road) and only 15 min away from downtown Black Mountain which is a quaint town with great restaurants and bars. Definitely a spot we want to return to!! Perfect getaway!

My family and I were looking for a weekend tent camping near Asheville to see the leaves changing. We never meet Timothy, but he was very responsive and communicative via text in preparation for our trip. We did meet Chris and he was very nice and helpful. The steep curvy road up to this site was no problem for us. That said, we felt the price was a bit high for what we received (over $50/day for 2 adults and 4 kids). There were two reasons we felt the value was lower than the cost: 1. We paid $5 extra for firewood and there was wood waiting for us... but I feel like it was there regardless if we paid extra or not; some pieces were three times the size of the small fire pit and, though it was under a tarp, most all of it was either wet, very old and fast burning, or green and uncured. 2. We booked this site partially because there was a “toilet” however, you should know it was a small tent with a small carryable potty in it which was shared between our site and another site. Perhaps this was stated and we missed it, but it would have been nice to know going in. The potty had not been emptied (or flushed) recently when we arrived. Overall, it was a beautiful, peaceful site off the beaten path, but just priced a little high for us to consider staying there again.

This was a wonderful spot nestled up on the mountain. Highly recommend. Tim was so helpful in getting our Camper backed up as well as providing good convo. Beware of the hill on the drive up as it is SUPER STEEP!

I would highly recommend Tim’s beautiful land for your Asheville mountain oasis. We stayed in site 1 & waking up and going to sleep to the sound of a stream was just a dream. The site was just private enough- tons of space & couldn’t see anyone else. Great trees for hanging a hammock, and a beautiful pond to do yoga next to. The site is about 20 mins from downtown Asheville & about 30/40 mins from all the great trails on the parkway. Tim was a fantastic host- he made us feel extremely welcome & safe. I cannot wait to come back!!

Timothy was very communicative and welcoming. Everyone who worked at the campsite was really helpful and brought us fresh firewood after a rainy day, which was very welcome. The site was all around great and we would stay there again!

First the good: The area is beautiful and the site is beautiful. As many have described, there is a little creek that runs through the property, which is a mixture of wooded areas, open grassy areas, and a pond. We did not have any issues with mosquitoes, which was great considering it was summer time. Timothy met us upon arrival and helped us park our 22' pull behind camper (more on that below). He was very friendly and eager to help. The stargazing was great and nights were extremely quite, which was nice. We enjoyed our evenings by the fire pit. The bad: The site is very challenging to get a camper/trailer in and out of. There is a small (10 foot) opening in the fence that you have to back through, and it's made even narrower by the bushes on each side of the opening. Our standard, 8 foot wide trailer was brushing the bushes on both sides. Timothy was great at helping to guide the trailer in, but it was challenging. Making matters worse, the site was pretty muddy, which Timothy explained is typical since the area is technically a rain forest. This made our 4x4 truck slip and slide a lot during the very challenging entry and exit. Also, the neighbor woke us each morning using a loud weed wacker for about an hour starting at 7:30. Not sure if this is typical, but it might be good to know if you're sensitive to non-nature noise while camping. Our takeaway is that the site is great for tent campers but not trailers. With easier access and less mud this would not be an issue.

This is a fun spot, all around. A friend and I stayed here briefly while exploring the NC mountains, staying mostly at hipcamps. On Timothy's property there are lots of different kinds of trees, mushrooms, and streams to walk around and check out. I saw several types of decent sized fish in the pond as well. I personally enjoyed climbing up several of the trees (I'm 36, so that doesn't happen as often as it should) The drive is really pretty, and once you're there it feels pretty private/secluded. The host makes everything really easy, offering several spots to set up tent as well, depending on your preference. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this spot to almost any kind of camper.
