We had a great experience at Holly View Farm. The property is set back far enough off the main road that it's quiet and secluded, but somehow also only about a 10 minute drive from Walmart, restaurants, breweries, and cell service.
Tracie was able to accomodate a request for an early check-in, and came out to meet us within just a few minutes of our arrival to make sure we were all set and had everything we needed.
The grass in the field had been mowed to the perfect height for camping - so much nicer that pitching a tent on pea gravel. Also, because my son was with us, it looked like the grass had recently been mowed shorter around the swings - that was a nice touch.
There are swings, horseshoes, and a basketball hoop to keep you entertained while hanging around camp, and plenty of animals to see on a walk. The shower and bathroom were clean and worked just fine.
We found this spot to be the perfect base camp for exploring the area. Perfectly situated between DuPont, Looking Glass Falls/Sliding Rock, and Brevard, with easy access to the Parkway and not far from Asheville and Cashiers.
I did also want to address a comment a previous guest left saying that the farm "had seen better days" or something to that effect. This is a real, working farm, not a fancy English riding club or the backdrop to some Taylor Sheridan show. There is peeling paint. There are missing fence slats. The stables are not whitewashed. And if you have a problem with animal noises, moooove along.
