Area is popular with all outdoor enthusiasts due to the central location of 7 lakes, East Fork of the Tuckasegee to the Tuckasegee River (The Tuck), Blue Ridge Parkway, Nantahala & Pisgah National Forests and Smoky Mountain National Park. Cashiers, Highlands, Cherokee and Asheville are all within an hour of a scenic drive.

Camp Uptown Backwoods (CUB)

Who knew primitive camping could be so comfortable?? We had a great time staying here! The land is gorgeous and Gregory has provided pretty much all the supplies you could possibly need. Probably the best night's rest I've ever had while camping. As a physically disabled person I also found the space pretty easy to navigate! While not exactly wheelchair accessible, the space had no stairs or tricky inclines to deal with. Definitely will return here if I'm ever in the area again.

The Right Amount of Remote

Camp Uptown Backwoods (CUB)

CUB had everything you could want for a night of "roughing it". It's not glamping, but I'd say it's the next closest thing. Personally I can never get a night's rest on an air mattress, or so I thought. Turns out there are comfortable ones and Greg has found them. Would definitely camp here again. Thanks Greg!
