First settled in the early 1800s by Joseph McCracken as payment for his service in the revolutionary war, the original farm encompassed over 100 acres. It has exchanged many hands and is now where we call home, a quiet little farm on top of a hill on a dead-end road.  Today, we raise Katahdin sheep, use horses to work the land, eat fresh eggs, grow our own vegetables, and raise our own meats. This is what we would like to share with you. Kids can get in on the action and help with chores, brush the horses, learn to garden and so much more. We are welcome to answer any questions you may have. Learn more about this land: Let's count sheep! Bring your tent and campout under the stars in our sheep pasture. Hilltop views looking down into the valley. Combination meadows and woodlands to suit your wants. Brisk country air and lots to do. Help with daily chores and seasonal tasks on a working farm. Ever been on a horse pulled wagon ride? Our chickens love any leftovers that you may have. Ask about Oprah, she loves meeting new people. Bring as many people as you want on our 30 acres of pasture and woods. Want to be next to grazing sheep? Just pitch your tent. Want to be next to a babbling creek? Just pitch your tent. A composting toilet will be provided, so no need to feel uncivilized. Breakfast will be provided on Saturdays and Sundays. Some advanced notice will be required. Complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate is available.

Sarah and Jason were excellent hosts. My 4&7 yo enjoyed collecting chicken and duck eggs, exploring, and helping groom the horses. The view from the spot behind the barn was excellent. It was in a double grade, which made sleeping uncomfortable and the rooster crowed all night. I think there were other spot options, but Jason and Sarah were at the farmers market when we arrived and this was the only clear spot to set up in. We would’ve preferred to be in or closer the woods, which may be an option. We ultimately left after 1 night because of the torrential downpours for the day.

Sarah and Jason and wonderful hosts. They have a beautiful farm with several different areas to camp. We chose a spot on top of a hill with sweeping view of the surrounding mountains. They provided a composting bucket toilet, some fire wood and access to drinkable water. They allowed us to roam freely around the farm, visiting the sheep, horses, chickens, and pig. We were also able to buy some delicious lamb from them. We had little to no cellular service on and around the farm. I recommend connecting with them before you arrive so they know what time you're arriving and you know where to go if you arrive when they're not home. All in all, a great experience. We would definitely recommend this location to others.

Much needed family time with a view
We had a fantastic time staying at Weathered Hill Farm. Jason and Sarah were wonderful hosts! Jason showed us around the farm and introduced us to all of their friendly animals, even our 14 year old son enjoyed his time and fell in love with the horses. The fields above the farm were a perfect place to catch some much needed family time and enjoy the most incredible views of the valley. Sarah is a wonder-woman and sent us off Sunday morning with a belly full of the best French Toast I have ever had! My brother -in-law is already planning a visit!
