Waddington&#x27;s Leishman Point

Wonderful spot and view! We were the only ones there which was great as the sites are very close together. They are not in the field anymore and lined up side by side. We’re not sure how we would have liked it if others were there. But the views were awesome. We do travel with our dog and there are a lot of dog walkers especially in the evening. Most are respectful and keep their dogs on leash but not everyone and we did have a dog run up to us while we were in our screen tent having dinner with our dog. We wish people would respect the rules but there’s always people who don’t. We were there mid September.

Site 4 - Leishman Point Park

Great camping site with plenty of area. Lots of locals hanging out at night and unattended dogs visiting the campsite. Wasn’t as private as we would have liked but that was due to others not necessarily the campsite itself.

Spent 4 days there and loved everything about it.It was our first time boon docking but we managed.The grounds are nicely kept up and the scenery is beyond anything that I have seen.Especially the ships..We will be back thank you so much.

Site 4 - Leishman Point Park

A nice four site HipCamp overlooking the St Lawrence River and Canada. It looks like they are working on adding utilities. We had a nice constant breeze from the west that kept us cool. It is a public park so you will see others and a lot of people took advantage of the open campsites for the river view. There were also a lot of dogs off lead so watch where you step. The cut pasture made for a nice hiking trail and the beach and playground areas looked nice. We didn’t need it, but we never found where to get potable water or where to discard your trash bag at the beach keepers cabin.

The view is amazing. James, the host gets back to you quickly with answers your questions. I loved watching the sunset and the barges going by. The restrooms are clean and available during the day. There is swimming in the park on the same property and a wonderful playground if you bring kids. They have made a lot of improvements to the campsites including rock driveway and pads. I very nice park.

Unique location overlooking Canada

We loved this unique site on a peninsula bluff jutting right into the St. Lawrence River. It's very open so there are sweeping views of the river and of Canada across the way, and we were treated to a beautiful sunset. We had a nice conversation with the manager of the park (and his dog) about future campsite developments. We really enjoyed our overnight here.

Perfect Scenery/Pet Restroom

The scenery is some of the best. Location is perfect. However, locals are not conscious of campers. We had to remove at least five piles of dog droppings before even setting up camp. When we left for 45 minutes, there was a fresh pile in the middle of camp. Frustrating on the lack of care locals have with respect to pets and campers.

Great spot with amazing views!! Had the whole place to ourselves. It was very quiet and peaceful. A few local dog walkers and park visitors during the day, but nothing after dark. Everyone was very friendly and a few stopped by to ask about the camping. I directed them to the sign which has the town website info. Great place to sit and watch the world sail by. Only issue was that the identified showers at Island View park were locked. I look forward to camping here again in the future.

Beautiful place! Quiet. It is a public area so gets some traffic but everyone is respectful. Host takes a while to communicate and there was a mix up with the site I reserved but everything worked out anyways. Maybe some porta potties closer or something could make things a little easier. Will probably stay again some time.

Site 3 - Leishman Point Park

The views were beautiful. 🤩 It’s being developed more to be able to host RV’s so that’s a plus. The beach needs some work but the grounds are meticulously maintained. We enjoyed our stay there and will go back.

Beautiful view of the St. Lawrence

It was a beautiful view for sure. I had a camper so the bathroom being way down the hill wasn't an issue. There were no electric hookups but I used a generator. Also no dump station, we had to go to Lisbon beach for that. There was quite a bit of traffic throughout the day - most of it was people walking their dogs. Not sure if I'll go back.

The only problem we did have was with people letting their dogs run free and the owners not picking up after them. We keep are two dogs on a leash at all times and cleaned up after them. There is not a shower in the bathrooms as indicated on the website. The views are beautiful.

It was very quiet up there, I was the only one at the four sites. People drive through the circle at all hours of the day and night though. Since it was just me and the dogs, this made it a little weird in the middle of the night. There is also absolutely no shade so no privacy or areas to cool off. Bring a canopy if possible. It was so cool seeing the ships go by but if it is foggy they will wake you up with the fog horn. a very scenic spot, bathrooms are a bit far and no electric but it was a nice weekend getaway. Also no grate on the fire which could have helped with cooking.

The campsite was perfect. Beautiful view of the river, clean and well maintained. The bathroom was a short walk and we used the showers at the Island View pavilion which were also very clean and great hot water pressure!! We loved drinking coffee watching the ships go by! Good choice of places to eat in town. Pizza at the bowling alley restaurant was great! Looking forward to our next camping there!

It is an excellent location, St. Lawrence River about 270 degrees and elevated. Trail around peninsula. Beach with playground very close, maybe 2 minute walk, just down hill where restrooms are. Soda machine.

Just WOW! This might just be the best campground I've been in all year.. The 270 deg views of the river from our campsite were stunning. You could look all the way east down the river south of Ogden Island. You could watch the big ships go east and west as well as the professional bass fishermen speed by (but you could barely hear the motors). The campground is on a hilltop and there was a cool breeze both day and at night. We were the only campers in the campground and other than the big ships and boaters passing you could only hear wildlife. There's several secluded fishing spots in the campground. Paddlers can put boats in at the beach and paddle to Ogden Island where you can camp in another secluded spot with great views. The bathrooms were clean and the host friendly. You can get water for your holding tank at a spigot at the town pavilion where the showers are. The spigot at the campground was too far from the road to use for filling an RV but is usable for filling containers. Visit this gem now before you can't get a spot without reserving a year ahead.

Everything was great, my only complaint would be the lack of any and all trees for shade on the campsites. As well as the shower situation downtown was unclear. Visited it once and it was closed. The older people that came to check on me in a golf cart were very helpful and accommodating. I would suggest bringing tarps or some sort of canopy to avoid cooking your brains out. Tip: there is a business selling wood on the main hwy very close to the campsites (Geneva Rd and Lincoln Ave/Hwy37)
