I loved staying at the Crosspatch Horse Ranch! I set up right by the pond where I could watch the horses come to drink out of the pond and run in the field. It is very peaceful but only 10 minutes from Ellicottville. Dolly is very welcoming and is always quick to respond. I highly recommend staying here. I liked it so much that I am staying here again!

When we pulled into her driveway Dolly greeted us immediately and we followed her to the campground across the road. We found a sweet little spot next to a stream and we were lulled to sleep. And we enjoyed seeing the horses.

Dolly and Jim’s land is absolutely stunning and their hospitality is even more impressive! We showed up just before the rain started and they came down to welcome us. It was cold and raining the whole time but they helps us make the most of it. Dolly played games with my kids and we talked about life in the evening around a campfire. I couldn’t be more grateful for their help and time! Would definitely recommend!

I had such a peaceful stay at Crosspatch. I arrived after dark and Dolly came down to welcome me. The view of the valley and the creek was great. And the horses in the misty field! Would recommend.

This might not be the place for you if you're looking for solitude. It was a busier weekend than usual, as I understand it but everyone encouraged me to join them for meals. So I did and ate really well! Dolly and Jim are the nicest people and attract similarly wonderful people to their ranch.
Beautiful property, lots of sweet animals, a great patch of grass to set up my tent, and a communal fire pit with plenty of wood available. AND a privy!! (I typically backpack and don't have access to privy)
I absolutely recommend Dolly and her hipcamp (and her gorgeous airbnb, too!)

Very beautiful area. Dolly was a great host ! Very friendly and welcoming. I would stay here again! Right down the road there is a town with cheap gas, grocery stores and such. Only 10 min away. She has very beautiful horses too :)

Nice for an overnight stay

We selected this site initially because it was almost exactly half way to our final destination but this ended up being more than just a stop. If you like horses and a rustic location, than book your stay now. While there are no amenities for your stay, the price more than makes up for that. We would have spent more for dinner staying in a free Wal-Mart or Cracker Barrel parking lot than we did here. Waking up to the horses neighing is the best alarm clock you could ask for.

Dolly’s land was so beautiful nothing prepared us for the rolling hills and amount of horses and peacocks that greeted us. We were also pleasantly surprised by the amenities like out house, fire wood, and fire pit as aren’t used to that. We hope to return one day. Great hosts! Would definitely recommend

We really loved our weekend at The Crosspatch! Everyone was extremely welcoming. We had a cute little spot near the horse pasture which had an adorable cute in it! So peaceful there. We will be going back! It’s only like 10 minutes to Salamanca or a little further to Quaker Lake. The Allegany River is also pretty close.

I only stayed the night, and got in after dark. Jim was very helpful getting me settled in the campground across from the farm. Will definitely be back when it’s not raining and I have an extra day or two to enjoy the space. Seeing the horses, as I drove away, was the cherry on top of the already pleasant experience!

Dolly and Jim are great hosts! Friendly, funny and accommodating! The camping area is across the road from the stables, office and horse livery. Amenities are a bit primitive (outhouses), but there are firepits, a running stream and the feel of a campout out on the plains during a roundup. We were there camping prior to the eclipse and had no plans to ride, but at the last minute decided to. And eventhough the rides were full, Dolly accommodated us and we had a great 2+ hour ride on the trails. Jim and Holly were great ride leaders and storytellers. Jim was a hoot! I highly recommend Crosspatch for a riding experience or a great place to camp!

Dolly was an amazing host at the Crosspatch! We look forward to returning again soon. There was a lot of freedom to choose where to set up, which was so great as you could pick a location that you enjoyed based on proximity to the outhouse, the horses, the stream, and the road. We stayed in our car-camping set up (sleeping in the car), and there were others in tents and vans, so you can really do whatever works best for you here.
It was so lovely to talk with Dolly and get to know her and her family's history at the Crosspatch. The location itself is in a really beautiful valley with hills on every side and beautiful views in every direction. The stars at night were absolutely unreal.

Outhouse was dingy, not well cleaned, and the door latch was broken and door didn't shut completely. Grounds are littered with old equipment and farm debris and garbage. We were directed to camp in an area that was very soggy and muddy after recent rains.

Camping with horses!

Dolly was very kind and helpful! Spending the weekend around horses was a very nice and unique experience. There was even a baby horse! It was a hot afternoon but we enjoyed the relief of the shade from the tree in the center of the camping area relaxing at one of the two on-site picnic tables.

Dolly’s place was a sweet little spot to stay. We were supposed to be there for 2 nights, but due to rain in the forecast, we only stayed one night so that we didn't have to pack up in the rain.
I will warn you, if you don’t enjoy farm smells, this may not be the location for you as this is a working horse farm and there are other farms in the area. I grew up on a farm, own a horse, and my folks still own their farm; therefore it did not phase me one bit.
We will definitely be back in the future!

We got in late, as per the instructions we went to the barn and we’re greeted by a bunch of adorable, friendly barn cats. We didn’t see anyone so I called and Dolly directed us to the site.
We had the place to ourselves so we set up close to a horse pasture. And started a fire in the common area, which has a rear supply of wood.. a visiting toad and a bat that was happy our headlamps brought out more bugs! (This was so exciting for us!)
In the morning we woke to the herd of yearlings standing by the fence. We stood by them and watched as we had our coffee. The pavilion was full of cool antiques. The campground had lots of adorable and neat touches. We loved the antique wagons. This place was the perfect way to start our road trip! $10 for the night was not NEARLY enough for this place. Recommend 110%

Peaceful rest on a beautiful farm
I felt lucky to be able to share time on this beautiful working farm. It was peaceful and calm with outstanding sleep. I enjoyed all of the farm noises and all of the perfume. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to get away from city life.
