Think Yellowstone, but swap Montana for the Shawangunks and drama for chill vibes. Rustic Ridge Horse Farm has gorgeous views and friendly hosts, highly recommended

Great place to camp while climbing in the area! Wally is an exceptional host and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. A short drive to the climb sites and grocery stores.

Absolutely wonderful spot that was so nice to be around like-minded hikers and campers enjoying the area for the weekend. Wally was so attentive and welcoming, was bummed i wasn't able to meet him but there was a lovely wedding on the property he was tending to 🧡 the honey farm is also an absolute must stop - so many goodies and local groceries, grabbed some apple cider donut bread pudding and my cup full of Democracy coffee 🙌🏼🙌🏼 cant wait to come back!! thanks Wally and lovely honey market lady!! 🙏

Nice, partially secluded individual campsites my sport sedan could easily get to during the dry season. Might get tricky if it rains though.
There's also a Walmart 3 miles away for supplies. Also, Jen's breakfast sandwiches nearby are absolutely worth it!

We enjoyed camping at this peaceful horse farm. The sites felt private with their own fire pits, and it was super convenient for hiking in Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. Easy drive from Jersey City, dog-friendly, and the “Damn Good Honey” shop on the corner was a gem. The only hiccups were a bit of car traffic at night and figuring out where to dispose of our trash, but overall it was a great little getaway. We would stay again:)

This is my third time back. By far the closest to all the action - Minnewaska, Mohonk, the Gunks, New Paltz. Wally is very attentive and accommodating. The space is very peaceful and we heard an occasional horse which I thought was awesome. Can’t wait to come back next year.

Wally is so friendly and helpful! There are many sites of your choosing, and it's first-come, first-served! All well spaced out. I needed some help with my fire, and Wally came to my rescue. He also recommended Damn Good Honey Farm for breakfast, and that place is amazing! Definitely need to try it out if you visit! All sites have fire rings, and some sites, if lucky, have a charcoal grill!

Overall it was great! Good views, lots of other campers which made it very comfortable! I did not like that the bathrooms were not taken care of.

What a gem! It’s a fantastic location and the farm stand really is fantastic. You can however hear the traffic on the road from most of the property.

Tent camped here at The Gunks. It was absolutely beautiful and the Minnewaska Star Park is only 10 mins away! Damn Good Honey Farm is delicious!!! Wally is an amazing host and we'd definitely stay here again!

Beautiful space! Spacious, with plenty of room between campsites. The nearby "damn good honey farm" made delicious breakfast sandwiches. And Wally is super friendly.

OK, but not worth $25 per person…
Overall, the campsite and experience were fine. However, I was disappointed and felt that the price of the campsite, at $25 per person, to be excessive.
The pictures provided by the host do not represent the reality. The campsites were 15-20 yards from others. Thankfully, our neighbors were respectful and quiet. However, I was able to hear and see the highway, which was not ideal. I’m sure some of the sites further away were more private, but it felt crowded.
The directions and expectations by the host felt contrived. I was sent a multi-page document via text with all the rules/regulations/backstory. I would suggest making the directions and rules more concise.
Overall, not a bad experience, but for $25 per person I was extremely disappointed. Our group spent $90 to sleep in a grass field off the side of a highway.

Convenient to the gunks. The toilets are a disaster. For $100 for a camp site , the hosts should have something more sanitary.

We had a lovely stay at Wally’s farm. Such a peaceful location with each site very distant from each other to ensure our space and privacy. Very centrally located to many shops and hiking trails while also feeling like you’re secluded in nature. The honey shop nearby is walking distance and you can honestly get most of the things you need there. We’ll be back for sure!

Beautiful property, love the views and the horses right near by. Also check out the damn good honey farmstead literally a 2-3 min walk.
Overall I enjoyed and would definitely come back.

I had the nicest time camping for two nights at Wally's. The area is perfect if you like to visit New Paltz and Woodstock, it's only a few minutes from Minnewaska too! I tent/car camped solo with my dog and felt safe, I'm really grateful for that! I personally didn't use the bathroom and left camp to do so, which wasn't a problem considering there are cute restaurants and breweries nearby to eat/get takeout/use bathrooms. Wally sent really great and funny instructions and being a planner myself I found them very clear and useful. He's a very kind person and a really cool dude. I left feeling recharged and feel like I slept better on the farm than I do at home! I'll be back plenty more. Thank you so much!

I stayed 2 nights to ride at Lippman park which is very bery close by. As other campers have mentioned it's a great place to see the stars! Very peaceful at night. I stayed up the hill which has a couple of nice private spots. But I think the more private spots are down below. I have a micro camper van and was able fo drive up the hill because it's been so dry. I can definitely see how wet weather would make it difficult ti drive in spots. Wally is very friendly and helpful. Overall a great time!

Very well kept grounds. Some sites were out in the open, and a few were secluded. I chose a secluded site with a great view of the mountains. I felt very safe there overnight.

This site is beautiful, host Wally is very nice and checked on me when I arrived. Yes the porta potty’s are foul, but are any porta potty’s not foul? lol if porta potty is your destination then don’t stay here, but if beautiful stunning views, very well kept campsites with fire rings, great ice cream just a 5 min drive away, and right next to property is Damn Good Honey for a damn good sandwich for breakfast, then stay here. I would go back in a heart beat, honestly did not want to leave. And for the price…you cannot beat this place.
