Birch&#x27;s Lakeside Campground/Marina

Everything went well, the views were amazing, the bathrooms were great, the hosts were top tier. Will definitely be trying to return!

My doggie CB and I enjoyed the time we spent at Paul Birch's Lakeside CG. The campers we met were extremely friendly and helpful and its a very dog friendly place!! Site 10 was awesome and we were grateful to be their for the Sept full moon which was a spectacular site over Lake Cranberry! Charlie Brown and I will be back

We recently stayed at Cranberry Lake Campground. While the natural scenery is lovely and the grounds are easy to navigate, the overall experience left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. The campsites are close together, so there’s very little privacy. Several neighboring dogs were off-leash, and a few even came into our site and up to our fireplace—one even came over while we were sitting down to eat our dinner. It seemed like leash rules weren’t being enforced. The restrooms were portable toilets—not full bathrooms—but they were maintained and clean, which we appreciated. Another off-putting moment happened during check-in. A staff member was kindly explaining things to us while training a new employee, but a man - owner? - suddenly jumped into the conversation to explain (rather defensively) that WiFi boosters hadn’t been installed yet—even though we hadn’t asked about WiFi at all. His tone felt abrupt and unnecessary, making the interaction feel more like a confrontation than a welcome. We made the best of our stay, and it worked for our SUV tent setup, but between the lack of privacy, off-leash pets, and awkward customer service, we’ll likely try a different campground next time. For $65 a night, I’d say skip it and look somewhere else.

We really enjoyed this small family owned campground directly on the lake! Sites are very well maintained with a fresh level gravel driveway for the camper with new picnic table and fire ring. We stayed at the end of season so it was very quiet. Bathroom was clean and nicely done. Plenty of hot water on demand. The location is remote, but the campground has a well-stocked camp store. Otherwise; there are very few options within 25 minutes to eat out or get supplies. Perfect if your seeking serenity and lakefront camping. Thanks Paul !

Overall it was nice. The view was amazing. The owner was kind. The seasonal campers were also kind. There is zero privacy, because the sites are on top of one another. The downfalls of this place were that there was no where to put our trash before leaving the grounds, we paid $12 for a very small amount of wood (basically enough for a single fire) and the bathrooms were disgusting. The men’s had toilet paper and tubes every where, the shower was okay just tiny. The women’s toilet was covered in feces and the shower was not very clean. We arrived on Friday and left on Sunday and they did not clean the bathrooms at all. For the rate, I thought it would at least be clean.

Folks here are k8nd. Polite & helpful. Park is not cheap( not terribly expensive either) but neither is your stay. Bathhouse there are 4 clean and ready for use. On site store & diner, it's a list lol

We had an unbelievable, Serene experience at Cranberry Lake. The views were stunning and spectacular, the deck on the grass was a great convenient addition and it was super comfortable. The hosts were helpful and friendly ! we will definitely be back !!!

Nice small private campground

It's a nice little campground especially for campers that loves water / boating. It was a great spot where we can go to places to hike / check out places near Cranberry Lake and nearby towns. The seasonal campers were very nice. We love the country store and they love our dog "Rocko". The only downside is the site does not have sewer hookup and the location of the dumping station is at an awkward spot (high ground) and tight spot to park camper to get a good flow to drain the tanks out.

My son and I had a wonderful experience staying in our campervan at Birch’s campground. Paul and his family were so friendly, welcoming and helpful! The general store on site was well stocked and makes delicious sandwiches. The facilities were incredibly well-kept. Best of all was the view of the peaceful Cranberry Lake. 100% would stay again!

Gorgeous place with kind people

PJ and Erica are the absolute sweetest and helped us out so much when we experienced disaster on the road and had to have a special tire delivered to us. The campground is gorgeous and has clean bathrooms and showers and a cute little store with every little forgotten item you might need. Everyone who we encountered here was just wonderful.

We enjoyed our time camping here. It's a small campground right on the water. This is a small community of campers enjoying their time on their boats. There is a small marina there and does get a little bit of foot traffic and boat traffic.

Lovely spot on Cranberry Lake with some seasonal campers. This is behind a general store so you can grab something’s you may need. Beautiful view of the lake and close to many hiking spots.

We loved camping on site 14 at Birch's waterfront campground on Cranberry lake. We met many friends there! Our JRT Stella greeted all those walking up from the docks just a few steps from this ideal spot with a great fire pit and amazing view of the dark night sky. Tight fit but the view was worth it

The pros- the view was lovely. The deck, picnic table, and fire pit were outstanding. The small marina was nice for launching our kayak and the camp store was well stocked. The hosts helpful. The cons - very tight fit. The seasonal camper next door is right on top of site 10. Their dog roamed free, and they smoked cigarettes and cigars right next to our camper windows, so we couldn’t have our windows open when they were smoking. It’s their right to smoke, but if this bothers you, it is a deal breaker. The dump station is difficult to get to. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Hidden Gem

Cranberry Lake is a hidden gem - the campground and marina are beautiful. The long term campers are amazing - we felt so welcomed and loved the sense of community we were brought into. The proximity to beautiful hikes and walks was outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

We spent 4 days at Birches Lakeside Campground. Quaint little private site, beautiful views, friendly people, a country store with a little bit of everything. Young owners on site, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Great stay at Lakeside at Cranberry Lake!! Beautiful lake side camp site!! Quiet, clean, beautiful scenery! PJ was a great host. We rented a boat and had a time on the lake. Will return!!

Perfect spot on the water-peaceful, quiet and clean, owners and campers very kind and welcoming. Bathroom/shower spotless and Air Conditioned. Property is maintained and they are improving docks, interesting Dock Lock system for boats. Hope to visit again soon.
