Overall, we had a great time. The site was as listed. About a 20 minute walk in. The host said normally this path would be mowed but it wasn’t which made it a little bit more of a challenge to get down to the site, but was doable. Once you are at the site, it’s a beautiful spot to camp, swim, play. The host said she hadn’t been down in a while and unfortunately some of the last people there left quite a bit of trash dumped in one spot. We were able to overlook it and still had a great time. If the path and site are maintained, this is a 10/10 spot. Be aware there is no cell service here which made a bit of a challenge. Maybe it would be good to have some form of self check-in.

Couldn’t stay the night. Too muddy and was impossible to access the campsite without an ATV. Ended up asking to cancel and only received a small portion refund. Would recommend only if the path over was accessible by foot.

Host was nice, but the walk to the campground was no fun. A 15 minutes walk through mud and there was no wagon to help with the gear. Dry wood was accessible through the host, but no way of transporting it with the gear on the back and without a wagon.

I've been coming to this spot every year. I love it and so does everyone that I bring with me. It's definitely a haul down the path to the site, but makes it an adventure — which is always great. So private, lots of land, plenty of wood to scavenge, right on the river, little beaches, and beautiful stars! I love this place.

Overall we had a great experience. The campsite is beautiful and private, located next to the river, surrounded by a lush forest and flowery fields.
The downside is the long walk leading up to the site, which was in no way accessible by car. We had to cross muddy ponds with our stuff and we would’ve packed differently had we known.
Fellow Hipcampers, beware and pack light!!!!!
On the positive side, the site is beautiful and feels safe (even as a group of young women). Christina is nice and lives right across the parking.

Highway noise is constant and very loud. When I got to the site it was littered with garbage...6 tires, lawnmower, pile of junk from other campers, old gross sleeping mat, etc
I also didn't feel the site was private. Both days there were people hanging out on the rocks directly in front of the campsite beach (maybe 30 feet away) as well as people floating down the river in tubes just feet from all my stuff. It made me uneasy leaving the site to go hiking in the mountains but luckily everything was fine there.
The walk in was described as wet and muddy so I won't fault it for that but it's not exactly pleasant walking through mud up to your shins multiple times the second you get out of your car. This could easily be fixed with a couple loads of stone/gravel and would go a long way to improving the site.
The campsite itself is quite nice...beautiful river with a nice beach and a nice little private area to setup camp. Unfortunately I just can't recommend it though. I actually left a night early because I finished my hike and just didn't enjoy being at this campsite.

The campsite itself is gorgeous. However, cannot undersell the over 1/2 mile hike in through sticky mud and tall grass. There is not a toilet available as noted (this was fine for us, but good to know) and while they welcomed us to leave trash bags (we opted to carry everything out), there were not trash cans or recycling on site. We had a few wonderful weekend once we were setup, but that was much more of a process than we thought we bargained for. Bring your backpacking gear and supplies you can carry in one load through mud. Hiking boots were a must for that!

The site looked wonderful in the one photo posted. I’ll never know however if it was. The path in to it was impassable slog down a long muddy trail that kept getting muddier and wetter until I came to a puddle inches deep that covered the path and that I would have had to wade through. I opted not to. Christina was very nice I will say and gave me a refund right away. I’m dry weather it might be fine but is still a long walk in.

The host lied about the bathroom situation. Do not be mistaken. If you stay here, you will have to dig holes for #2 and go in the woods for #1.
The 0.6 mile access road to the site is not passable by vehicle. Park at the very beginning and then hike in your supplies by foot, otherwise you will have to get in touch with Keeseville Towing. The access "road" is very wet and muddy. Be prepared for your feet to be soaked by the time you start setting up camp.
The campsite itself is quite private and beautiful, save a pile of junk tires, an abandoned lawn mower, and a small collection of refuse left behind by others.

The site is not safely accessible and should not be allowed to have people camp here until the road is fixed. The road down to the site is not usable despite what Christina says. We were reassured upon arrival that in our ford ranger would be able to drive all the way to the site. Not even a 1/4 mile in we got stuck in mud for 4 hours. Christina was not responding to our messages even though she told us upon arrival she had neighbors who could help if we were to get stuck. Thankfully we had a shovel which we dug for hours. We tried for to get out of the mud and called tow companies who quoted us $350 an hour to get towed out of there, which Christina shared after we got stuck that many other campers have been towed out of there. Thankfully we found some stray pieces of wood to put under the tires and had to beg the her to come help us with a traction ramp that she had. Christina was clearly under the influence of something and kept falling into the puddles and getting her foot stuck in the mud. Once we had the traction ramp we were able to get out and left immediately. Christina refunded us for the reservation but we still lost money due to the Hipcamp fees. The whole thing was so absurd and would never want someone else to experience what we did. The road is not safe. You cannot turn around anywhere. There are HUGE puddles with thick slick mud and the trees are so overgrown on the sides that it scratched our truck the whole way down. DO NOT GO IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!

While the site itself was pretty much as described, “walk in” is an understatement. A 0.5 mile trek through swampy marsh and ankle deep mud was not anticipated. Don’t leave anything in your car unless you want to struggle four times over.
The river has changed dramatically and the pictured rocky, on river spot is no longer accessible. There is a lot of debris from previous flooding that has not been removed which we were surprised to see had not been removed. Things weren’t really maintained as the price would suggest they are. Christina is a very nice person/host and it’s obvious she cares for the land but don’t expect things to be as described for this listing.

This spot never disappoints! I come here every year and will be continuing to come back. Christina is amazing to share such a special spot. Lots of space to wander around, a great river and beach all to yourself, beautiful mountain views - and a rewarding walk in. Love this place.

This is a LONG WALK to the site. Don’t expect to be able to carry a tent, cooler, or anything you’d actually need for camping. During a rainy season you’d have to track through knee-deep mud. Ended up staying somewhere else. Highly recommend hipcamp checks out this listing again as it’s not a place campers can realistically get to.

I came to the area to have a secluded tranquil camp with my pooch and that’s exactly what we got. It was spacious, beautiful, quiet and unique.
That being said, I would only be able to stay here again if I had a vehicle large enough to drive to the site. The walk is estimated to take 10 minutes but when you’re carrying camping gear, firewood, and miscellaneous items in, it is about 20 minutes through mud and very large puddles to deep to walk through. I loved the site and Christina was super friendly and personable. She’s hoping to be able to make it easier for campers to get to the site in the future but for now I recommend driving in as the walk leaves you feeling exhausted by the time you get your belongings down to the site. We almost turned around and went home but I’m glad I stuck it out and stayed as it really is peaceful and beautiful once you get settled. I would recommend if you’re walking in to only bring bare essentials, as the walk would have been more manageable if I hadn’t been as weighed down by my gear. Beautiful area and great host

Beautiful location in pristine land. But be warned- without a raised 4wheel drive vehicle, it is a walk-in site only
The host suggested I could try to take my little Toyota on the path but that would NOT have been a good idea as I imagine it would still be stuck on the two foot deep mud and puddles. Glad I opted to walk. A little steep price for the absolute trudging required to haul in to the site, but very beautiful once settled in ⛰️ 💕

This place is truly awesome. My only critique: I just recommend you double-check the condition of the 10-minute trail if you do not have a 4x4 vehicle. Our walk was a bit of a mission and we got all muddy... there were some spots which were not passable without sticking your foot through some mud. This was obviously due to the heavy rains and flooding, so it's nobody's fault. Just double check the trail condition with Christina so you aren't surprised.

Wonderful private camping spot right on the river. The tent area is spacious with plenty of tree cover that kept us dry during the rain. The little beach is perfect for playing in the water, our dogs especially loved swimming and running around. We were able to drive directly to the campsite with a 4WD pickup, but if you have a car with less power and lift you'd definitely need to walk in instead as there are a few big puddles on the way. Christina was a great host and we enjoyed her campsite.

It is a beautiful hidden spot, perfect to visit with your dogs.
We had a private river, a very pure and safe area around.
She was very friendly and helped with directions before the camping
We would love to visit it again soon.

Really nice remote site, no one else around for miles. Very nice river with a small beach area to sit in the sunshine and swim. Wonderful views and a good amount of shade in the tent area, kept the tent nice and cool during the day.

Overall we had a wonderful time, Christina was welcoming and helpful getting us settled. The location of the campsite is set right against a windy river and surrounded by trees and forests. It is a stunning place to rest your head for a camping trip. The site itself is near enough to civilization, making this a great spot for new campers looking for something less crowded than state sites. Lots of hikes just a quick drive away! However, this was not a drive in site in early April, even with a 4wd jeep, which was not made clear until we arrived. Also dry wood was not provided, despite the hip camp posting saying it would be, meaning another hike out from the river to get to our car to drive to a place that sold dry wood, then hike the wood in to the site. Given dryer conditions and a touch of love, this site would be a wonderful experience! Don’t be deterred from coming here, just be prepared for a bit more work than the posting makes it seam.

LOVED camping off road on our jeep tent! Man, this place for sure is a hidden gem and fully worth it if you go all the way down to the creek and water view! It was the perfect setup right in the middle of nature! For sure wildlife is around at night and it’s pitch black. Beautiful views when you wake up, especially during the fall. Temperatures did drop so the only thing I’d probably change is just coming in the less colder months perhaps end of spring earlier fall. The place is absolutely gorgeous and can be walked. But I’d recommend just driving a 4x4 to be able to get to the campsite. Dog friendly site, perfect spot! Christina was so helpful and friendly!

Belle place où camper, l’eau est parfaite pour une petite baignade. Très bon accueil, on nous a guidé jusqu’au terrain, la personne était très gentille. Le seul désavantage est qu’on entend la route, surtout le matin quand il y a beaucoup de circulation.

Upon arrival Christina was super helpful on eta ,location, when arriving Christina could not have been more helpful on showing us down to the campsite !
I would highly recommend a 4x4 (I have a Jeep) and drive thru the mud to get to the river area. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT
we had so many choices :Camp under the trees or camp near the water or camp in between the water and trees on an elevated area.
The stars were our flashlights and the sound of the river water flowing by was so calming.
This place is a hidden gem and the host was amazing. I won’t spoil to much but totally worth it !

This experience made me realize how important check ins are. I appreciated having a place on the highway available to park my car but it would’ve been good to know the space was flooded and uncampable before driving 200 miles.
