Perry Farms is the home place of the Perry Family, established in 1980, and provided much open space for the children to grow and play. It is located in the northern edges of the Chihuahuan Desert. Native fauna and flora as well as beautiful blue skies, with millions of stars provide peaceful, quiet moments of nature. Learn more about this land: Desert Camp consists of six RV spots with full hookups (electricity-30 and 50 amp, septic, water, and WIFI) and 11 unimproved tent camping areas on family property of Perry Farms. The land has arroyos, mesas, lots of flat areas to car camp, pitch a tent or sleep on the ground under the beautiful, dark New Mexico skies. There are also a few places to hang a hammock.  To the west, there are miles and miles to hike, mountain bike, or just enjoy the view of the Magdalena Mountains.  Neighbors are quiet and you can choose a spot away from anyone.

Desert Camp consists of unimproved tent camping areas on family property of Perry Farms. The land has arroyos, mesas, lots of flat areas to pitch a tent or sleep on the ground under the beautiful, dark New Mexico skies. There are 11 tent sites that are cleared off and outlined with rocks. There is potable water available. To the west, there are miles and miles to hike, mountain bike, or just enjoy the view of the Magdalena Mountains.  Neighbors are quiet and you can choose a spot away from anyone. There are no restrooms or showers. To help you plan your fun, here are a few wonderful things to do in the Socorro area. Migratory birds at the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge are wonderful to see in winter and there are so many great things to see and do there year-round. In winter, the fly-in at dusk is amazing, be there just before dusk for an amazing shot. Likewise, be there before dawn for the amazing fly-out. There are numerous trails for hiking, a great visitor center to peruse, and volunteers and staff on hand to advise you of the latest at the Refuge. https://www.fws.gov/refuge/bosque_del_Apache/ If you have time to drive around a bit, interesting geology and scenery can be experienced on the Quebradas Backcountry By-way, east of the Rio Grande, San Lorenzo Canyon, west of I-25 at Lemitar, and of course, the Very Large Array is a great tour, 45 miles west of Socorro on US Highway 60, about 15 minutes west of Magdalena. If you have a desire for heights, the drive through Water Canyon (off US Highway 60) to the top of South Baldy where Langmuir Laboratory and the Magdalena Ridge Observatory are located, is a great adventure! A bit farther west is artsy Magdalena and the VLA about 45 minutes west of Socorro on US Highway 60. If you like to golf, New Mexico Tech has a great course. Also, at NMT is the New Mexico Bureau of Mines, which houses a world-class mineral museum with rock and mineral specimens from all over the world. It's amazing! Their gift shop is quite a treat! The famous Capital Bar is worth poking your head into for a view back into history. It is found on the historic Plaza in Socorro. The Chamber of Commerce Office, also on the Plaza, has information about Socorro County, although, they have limited hours with COVID-19. Socorro has a great walking tour, the guide for that can be found online at https://www.socorronm.org/attractions/city-socorro-historic-walking-tour/. Enjoy your visit to our historical location! Perry Farms RV Park consists of 6 rv/trailer/car camping areas on the family property of Perry Farms. To the west, there are miles and miles to hike, mountain bike, or just enjoy the view of the Magdalena Mountains.  Neighbors are quiet and you may hear a coyote singing to you in the night. There are no restrooms or showers. To help you plan your fun, here are a few wonderful things to do in the Socorro area. Seeing the Cranes

Close to Bosque del Apache, 13 miles down same road. Close to restaurants in San Antonio. Sites have full hookups. Owners do sell firewood. 2nd time staying here and would/will stay again. Good jumping off place. We did day soak in Tor C at Riverbend resort about an hour away and visited Elephant Butte. Lots of wild areas and off roading around Socorro which is close by. Decent views of surrounding mountains and Cranes flying by all day long. Great if doing Festival of Cranes at the wildlife refuge.

Very nice little spot. It’s tucked in the back of a main road and very dark at night. We loved that part as the sky was so beautiful! This is a perfect stop over spot. The price is fair and having the Owl Restaurant down the street is a bonus. Definitely get the green chili cheese burger! The host was very responsive and nice. We will definitely be staying again sometime in the future.

Nothing I can think of. The location met our need for a quick overnight. The host was very helpful and willing to met us and guide us into our space after a major road disruption delayed us several hours.

Level sites with room to maneuver. Each site with water, electric, sewer. wi-fi available. Surrounded by native vegetation and enhanced with newly-planted shrubs. Owner very friendly and attentive to our needs. Beautiful views of night sky.

We recently spent three nights at Perry Farms RV in our Fifth Wheel, and it was a delightful experience. Located in the quiet town of San Antonio, New Mexico, this RV park offers spacious full hook-up sites that are perfect for larger rigs like ours. The setting is peaceful and serene, making it an ideal spot for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. One of the highlights of our stay was the proximity to some fantastic outdoor activities. We went rockhounding at the Kelly and Graphic mines in Magdalena, which was an absolute blast. The mines are just a short drive away, making Perry Farms RV a convenient base for exploring the area. We also visited Bingham, another nearby attraction that was well worth the trip. For those who enjoy scenic drives, the Quebradas Backcountry Scenic Byway is a must-see. The rugged beauty of the landscape is breathtaking, and we highly recommend taking the time to explore it. At night, Perry Farms RV transforms into a stargazer's paradise. The lack of light pollution allows for incredible views of the night sky, and we spent hours marveling at the stars. It's a truly magical experience that you won't find in many places. The host, Vannetta, was incredibly welcoming and went out of her way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Overall, our stay was okay. The internet connection was inadequate. There were no trash containers available, other than that the owner was very professional and pleasant to deal with.

If you don't need laundry it restrooms, this is a great stop ever stay. Very nice host, but a bit hard to find. We loved the little walls down the trail it back, and it's a very quiet and peaceful place to stay.

We loved this Hipcamp! Vanetta gave wonderful directions and suggestions for meals and activities. We chose it for proximity to Bosque del Apache NWR, which did not disappoint, and the dark skies and full hookups were a huge plus. Thanks so much!

Vannetta has done a great job providing spaces on her property for small RVs wanting hook-ups or boondocking. The location is great for exploring the surrounding areas. Mapquest took me to the location but without Vannetta's excellent detailed directions, I would have been concerned about going down the dirt road especially since I flat tow a Jeep. Thanks for sharing your place.

We really enjoyed our 2-wk stay at Perry RV Park. We wanted a quiet, off the beaten path spot to spend the holidays just relaxing, but we wanted full hook-ups. This little spot checked all our boxes. We spent time exploring the local wildlife and historical spots, sitting around a firepit, and gazing at the stars and milky way. Vanetta made sure we had no problems with our spot and provided a plethora of info on the local area. An excellent host! We will definitely stay here again should we come back to the area. Highly recommend!

Vannetta is sweet, kind and accommodating. My review is not a complaint, it's merely informational for others in tents. Our stay was good, likely better for RVs, I was in a rooftop tent. The neighbor dogs bark relentlessly. I was lucky enough to have headphones and downloaded music to drown them out. The skies were dark and beautiful, other folks there kept to themselves. It was good for passing through.

We had difficult time finding Vannetta's because it was quite dark & I couldn't see most of the structures, come to find out my low beams were burned out. Anyway, I called Vanetta & she immediately responded & said she knew where we were to turn around & she'll be in her driveway with the flashes on. We were in our four wheel camper so didn't need hook ups but everything was provided if needed. Perfect short distance from Bosque. And in the morning, if you aren't already awake, the cranes flying out overhead during the winter months are thrilling to hear!

Simple RV setup just outside of town. Has all the hookups. Nothing fancy but safe and the star gazing is ridiculous. Close to bird watching and resupply. Thanks Vannetta!

Excellent location for exploring Bosque del Apache - The night sky was AMAZING - We found the spot easily - Turn left at the dip sign and look for the 3 white mailboxes - from there it is a breeze. As Vannetta instructed, we followed the directions she provided closely. Vannetta is an amazing host - the spot was clean, tidy, and we loved having electricity for our Airstream. Thank you, Vannetta, for the great tips about all of the spots to explore and info about the surrounding towns! We'll be back!

Our trailer spot was flat, dark and quiet. Couldn't ask for more! We saw a roadrunner in the morning. Vanetta made sure we could find it, make sure you write the directions down. We went to the Owl Cafe both nights, the green chile burger was that good!

Our family and pups had a wonderful time at Vanetta's Hipcamp! Full hookups and lots of space to roam. The dark skies are incredible, with the Milky Way on full display. We would absolutely stay there again!
