Nestled in the heart of New Mexico, this campsite offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere that appeals to those seeking a peaceful retreat. The welcoming hosts, De De and Kevin, are consistently praised for their hospitality, ensuring guests feel at home. With amenities like a refreshing pool and access to nearby trails, it's a spot that invites relaxation and exploration. The unique clothing-optional policy adds a sense of freedom, making it a memorable experience for many visitors.
My wife and I stayed at De De's campground for two nights in mid-September in our 15-foot trailer which we parked at one of the camping pads with artificial turf. We had an expansive view and enjoyed the freedom of wandering on the property and adjacent public land in our natural attire. Can't help but love New Mexico! De De answered all of our questions before the trip, met us on arrival, and stayed in contact throughout our visit. If the weather hadn't turned sour we would have enjoyed being there for a third night. The pool looked so inviting if not for that. Got to know the other couple at the campground, in fact we agreed to stay in touch and plan a return trip together!
Nakation is a fantastic Hipcamp. DeDe and Kevin were fantastic hosts. They went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. There is a nice short out and back trail on BLM land that is perfect for morning and afternoon/evening walks. The pool area truly feels like an oasis. The sites are very well maintained and most include a large area covered by recycled sports-field turf. Clothing optional makes this a must return for us. In addition, we met another couple that we plan to camp with next year - so the trip was a double win for us.
The property was beautiful and a great place to relax. The pool area was so nice, especially on a warm day. I stayed at one of the RV sites and they are quite exposed - both to wind and view. I definitely plan on returning!
Exactly as advertised, a primitive retreat, private and secluded, relaxing and quiet. De De and her partner were lovely: very welcoming and friendly. The swimming pool was a wonderful respite from the hot desert sun and the patio/barbecue area was simple but well equipped with plenty of seating . The shower was a bit cool in the morning but warmed up somewhat in the afternoon/evening. This was our first time at a Nakation getaway and it was definitely a very enjoyable experience. Our dog also had a great time, we didn’t need to put him on a leash for the whole stay! We came home relaxed, refreshed, and excited to go back soon!
This is our second 3 night stay and we enjoyed the freedom, serenity and seeing all the improvements and hard work that has been done. Well done, we’ll be back.
I had a great 3 days. The weather was great during the day but windy ar night. DeDe and Kiven were great hosts. They were willing to help with any problem. I will be coming back again.
Beautiful Property, I didn’t get the chance to meet the hosts but the sites were extremely well maintained. Lots of room for privacy if that’s what you’re looking for.
Dede and her husband are awesome. I came here to relax before a bike race. I hiked a bit, caught a short ride, had a shower……. Everything I hoped for. I stayed another night in my way home and chatted with both of them for an hour or so. I enjoyed getting to know them a little bit.
If you’re coming thru, book a night or two here.
This was a great night out for us! The spot was really cute and comfortable, and good rock hunting on the blm land surrounding. Dede and her husband were very nice. We definitely will be staying again! Thank you!
Very welcoming host. The sites are very private and peaceful. The campground has awesome amenities, including showers and a portable toilet that was clean. I'll be returning!
I really enjoyed my time at DeDe and Kevin's place. Very comfortable to camp there. The scenery and freedom were appreciated; the pool and shower were too. I will be back!
Next time I’m near Nakation, I’ll be sure to book a stay. The property is lovely & the freedom to roam many acres of adjacent BLM managed public lands is an added bonus. The pool area was great and De De was very helpful and gracious.
Great hosts, so welcoming. Her pictures of her land did not do justice as to how pretty it really is out there. Her pool felt so good in the early summer when we were there; the trampoline was a bonus to lay on and view the beautiful dark sky..It was such a relaxing time, we will return.
This was a very enjoyable Hipcamp experience. DeDe and Kevin were gracious hosts and I greatly enjoyed chatting with them in their nice pool patio area. There is a vehicle track that extends from their property about 1/2 mile into BLM land for a nice quiet hike. I parked my trailer in their pull through RV parking area which has a turf pad for each RV site. The ground is soft, and some balancing is needed so be sure to bring wide trailer leveling blocks. I was the only camper during my visit, so had the pick of camp spots. Overall excellent experience!
Absolutely gorgeous landscapes, nice privates spots. The hosts were very communicative, had great suggestions for nearby activities, and a clean bathroom available.
We loved our stay at Nakation in our RV. Perfect secluded camp site in the gnarly scrub at the back of the property to enjoy some back to nature risqué quiet time 😜 …
We loved camping on De De's land. It was very relaxing, quiet, and private. She was a great host with many amenities. We will definitely camp there again.
This place is perfect . Thankyou De De. This place is small enough for privacy between campers. The wet area is nice (pool, hot tub and solar showers). Overall, a great place to relax. I’ll definitely be back
I had a very relaxing experience at DeDe’s campground. My tent site was clean with a nice even surface to set up. They have laid down artificial grass which was great for keeping dirt and such outside of the tent. The pool area was really nice. Spent a couple hours of pleasant conversation with DeDe and Kevin chilling next to the pool. Highly recommend this campground and would definitely stay there again.
