Very nice campground with plenty to do. Great place to bring the family and be able to do your own thing.

People that work there are great. Site was perfect. Store was nice. Ice cream shop was a very nice and needed added touch. Pool, jacuzzi and slide were excellent. Overall just a great experience. I’ll definitely be back.

The camp itself was clean. We loved the amenities, the store, and the staff. The check-in process was not smooth because Hipcamp did not provide the proper information needed to access the camp. We would recommend. However, we recommend booking directly through Winding River Campground. There were annoying “neighbors”, but that can happen anywhere. Additionally, staff politely reminded them that there were other campers around. All in all, great weekend!

I would book directly with Winding River Campground as the information from Hipcamp to and from Winding River campground got lost in the relay of information, Especially the access code to the campground gate, we had to find the campground phone number to get the information from them directly. The campground has WiFi but the cell signal outside the gate is not good so we had to drive a little ways away to get cell service.

20/30/50 amp Full Hook-up Site Riverfront
We didn't stay long but it looked beautiful, right by the river and lots of space to explore. Sites were spread out, not right next to each other. Great hookups, friendly hosts.

    Riverfront Pop-Up/Tent
Booking through hipcamp does not allow you to select a site, only a type of site regardless of photos. So the campground will place you wherever they have space. This led to me insisting on the riverfront site I paid for. There is no privacy, sites are small and right on top of each other. The entire row of riverfront sites we were a part of had a floodlight mounted on the bathrooms pointed directly over, on all night (sites 502-506). Trying to fall asleep in the light while feeling like I was sitting around my neighbors campfire as they chatted was not the best camping experience. It's a cute family campground and suited best for young kids. A positive was our ability to bring kayaks and set out from the campground for a 5 mile day on a good stretch of wilderness surrounded river. Banks are steep and slippery with clay but we still stopped for a picnic lunch and a swimming hole. Towards gillman park is open but towards the 111 rt access is impassable with trees.

Great amenities, but campsites for renting are super close together. Thankfully it wasn’t busy, otherwise it might have felt claustrophobic.
