Dancing Bear Farm is a working farm with silvopastured chickens, turkeys, goats, and horses. Campsites are at the edge of the hayfields overlooking a view of Mt. Ascutney and Mt. Sunapee. Excellent sunrises! During your stay you are welcome to visit the animals, explore the forested trails, and walk up to the pond. There is a campfire and pavilion that guests are welcome to use, as well as a restroom with flush toilet and handwashing sink close to the campsites. Firewood is provided. We can also offer a customized farm experience for an additional cost! Hike with the goats, harvest in the garden, or meet the baby animals! Traveling with kids? We can offer a private kids farm class while the grownups head off for their own adventures. We sometimes host educational workshops on site, including in the pavilion. When you book we will let you know if your stay coincides with an educational program. Guests are welcome to join in with a 15% discount to any of our public workshops!

Pitch your tent along the edge of the hayfield or find a more secluded spot near the pond or in the forest. Dancing Bear Farm is a 43 acre working farm with goats, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. Our campsites are ideal for wildlife viewing and relaxing in nature. Campers will have access to the shared use wash house with flush toilet and handwashing sink, as well as a rustic outdoor shower (cold water only). You are also welcome to use the shared use campfire and pavilion with picnic table. There are trails through the forest and around the hayfields to explore. Please note that are a working farm and you may encounter the sights, sounds, and smells of farm animals. The tent site area is up the hill and further from the main farmyard area. We are happy to show you around! We are also an educational farm and may have events scheduled during your stay. Hipcampers receive a 15% discount off of any scheduled events or workshops you might want to attend during your stay.

We loved staying on Julia’s farm! I definitely recommend the farm tour/goat visit. It was so much fun to meet all of the animals and learn about what they do at Dancing Bear Farm.

I loved tent camping at the dancing bear! The owner was friendly and took the time to pointing out all the highlights of the property. My dogs loved the open space to roam around and the view were absolutely beautiful.

First time Hip Camper ! I will be back ! Little farm tucked away on the mountain hillside. Very scenic and beautiful. The Sunrise with the misty mountains was my favorite part. The flushing outhouse was kept very clean and was very convenient! My friend and I really enjoyed the selection of snacks and fruit in the basket as well. We were able to walk around the garden and green house as well. We loved trying purple tomatoes for the first time. The large puppy Dakota was also really friendly and was very tame. Never begged for food! Will trip here again.

A wonderful property! Would stay again. Very clean, very friendly, with lovely little touches. Was a joy to watch the sun set and rise on the farm. Rooster started at exactly 5:05am! Was audible but nothing you can’t sleep through. Found it to be a joy to walk the property in the morning. Looking forward to a fall visit as the season quickly changes!

I recently stayed at this tent spot and had a great experience. The location is on beautiful farmland that’s very well maintained, giving it a peaceful and open feel. The site itself felt private and quiet, which made for a relaxing stay away from the noise. Some road noise can be heard but we were far enough back that it didn’t bother us. The bathroom facilities were mostly clean and well-stocked, which I appreciated. While not spotless, they were definitely in good condition for a camping setup. It was nice to have a real toilet to use. Overall, it’s a lovely place to set up a tent if you’re looking for a simple, private, and scenic stay. I’d definitely come back!

Amazing Cabin and Location!!

Amazing site and fabulous hosts! Cabin with amazing views, facilities exceeded expectations, and the pond was a huge bonus. Hosts were available and helped us get situated with all the many options onsite. It is a real farm! The fire pit, Adirondack chairs and grill made the site super comfortable. Speaking of comfort, the cabin was spacious, beds and linens clean and comfortable, the mini front porch chairs perfect for a quiet cup of coffee surveying the mountains in the distance. We brought our springer spaniel and she also had the best day ever!! This was our first time using Hipcamp and we will certainly be going back to Julia’s site as it offers a beautiful refuge in a beautiful region. Their efforts made this site a memorable one! Cabin, 5⭐️, Local Farm 5⭐️, Site and Amenities 5⭐️ but the Hosts truly made this a site to remember.
