Great Location, Awesome Getaway
My wife and I stayed in the Slopeside tent for 2 nights. The spot is a small ski hill that is converted to camp sites for the off season.
Very easy getting in the location, the directions were spot on and communication prior to arrival was excellent.
There is parking dedicated to this tent in the grass. The tent is set up on a wooden platform about 30 yards or so up one of the ski runs. It’s a bit of an incline, so be aware if you have any mobility issues. Also, keep this in mind when deciding what to bring. We had a foldable wagon and a cooler with wheels. That helped out immensely. Lots to explore right there. You can get a great hiking workout exploring the ski runs and property. Even have a nice creek that runs along the front of the property to walk along in.
Our tent was clean and ready for us. There is an inflatable bed on a stand. No sheets or blankets, so pack your own.
There is a picnic table, 2 chairs, a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), and a small metal fire pit (bring your own wood).
The ski lodge is open To use the restrooms and showers.
One shower stall indoors and one outdoors. These aren’t 5 star hotel accommodations, but it’s camping and they are a great thing to have access to after a day of hiking, swimming or to wash the campfire smell off.
We went to nearby Otter Brook State Park to take a dip in the lake. We also drove to nearby hiking trails, so many to choose from for all skill levels.
There were other groups camping in tents throughout, but this location is in an area where you have privacy if you want it.
We had an excellent time and were very happy with the location, tent and amenities. The site is not far out of Kenne, so you have everything you could need a short drive away. Can’t wait to come back again!
