Welcome to Oxen-Le-Fields Montana! With one cozy cabin and two 12 x 14' wall tents, our 6 sunny acres are surrounded by the Bitterroot National Forest. Whether you're hunting, hiking, or just looking for a quiet getaway, the camp offers remarkable views including an abundance of wildlife, Sula Peak, and forest hills as far as the eye can see. Nestled against the national forest, we have direct access to forest roads that go for miles. Come discover the beauty of the Bitterroot at Oxen-Le-Fields Montana. With a perfect view of Sula Peak, Tent #2 is a 12x14 canvas tent featuring a comfortable king bed complete with linen, and cozy woodstove with free firewood. Wi-fi is free, and each tent has one power strip inside for electronics. Patio chairs, propane barbecue, and a communal picnic table are at the campsite for your enjoyment. TENT CONTENTS: * King bed with two pillows, linen, an electric blanket topped by sherpa bedding * Two patio chairs * Woodstove with free firewood, kindling and matches * Two lamps * Power strip for electronics * Two plates, bowls, mugs, and silverware * Water kettle, cast-iron pan, oil for cast-iron pan, and cooking utensils TOILET: A flushing toilet and cold-water sink are located inside the upper shed marked "Wild Wild West." WATER: Potable water is available via a spigot between the two sheds. FOREST: Oxen-Le-Fields Montana offers direct access to the Bitterroot Forest. Follow the trail at the back left corner of the property to access miles of forest service roads, or just walk outside the tent and begin hiking to enjoy all the forest has to offer. PETS: Your pets are welcome, too. Pets may sleep inside the cabin and tents but not on the beds unless you bring a blanket to protect the bed. Also, please keep them on a long lead so they're comfortable but not able to chase wildlife, wander off into the forest, or into other campers belongings. WILDLIFE: Deer, elk, bighorn sheep, marmots, and coyotes are abundant. Bear, moose, wolves, and cougars also share the forest. Please respect the wildlife and understand the inherent dangers they pose. Bear spray is highly recommended when exploring the forest. FISHING: Blue-ribbon trout are abundant in both the Bitterroot and Big Hole rivers. Bitterroot fishing access is available all along the Hwy 93 corridor. A community fishing pier is less than a mile south. Access to Big Hole is just a short drive away. Four miles north of Darby lies Lake Como where fishing, swimming, and other water activities are enjoyed by all who visit. SKIING: A short 16 miles to the south sits Lost Trail Ski Resort, home to 69 runs. Sitting atop the Continental Divide on Highway 93 where Montana and Idaho meet, Lost Trail boasts over 300 inches of snowfall every year for enthusiasts to enjoy.

Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, the Cozy Cabin features power, rustic yet hot shower, apartment size washer/dryer, and a small fully-fenced yard. The small bedroom offers two single beds with full linen and a 5-drawer dresser. The kitchen offers a full fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, small table, and 2 chairs. Amenities include Starbucks ground roast, Folgers ground roast, tea, creamer, sugar, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and more. The cabin is heated by a large woodstove with free firewood. The patio features seating for 5, and is perfect for watching wildlife stroll through. A propane barbecue grill is available just outside the front door. The cabin was originally a hunting cabin, which reflects its simplicity. The linoleum floors and simple furnishings means easy living so you can relax and enjoy yourself. The cabin is located in nature and while we work hard to ensure nature stays outside, please be prepared for the possibility of nature occasionally sneaking inside. We don’t refund for bugs or critters but If you should see some during your stay, contact us immediately and we will come take care of things for you as best we can. We truly want your stay to be memorable.
