Welcome to Oxen-Le-Fields Montana! With one cozy cabin and two 12 x 14' wall tents, our 6 sunny acres are surrounded by the Bitterroot National Forest. Whether you're hunting, hiking, or just looking for a quiet getaway, the camp offers remarkable views including an abundance of wildlife, Sula Peak, and forest hills as far as the eye can see. Nestled against the national forest, we have direct access to forest roads that go for miles. Come discover the beauty of the Bitterroot at Oxen-Le-Fields Montana. With a perfect view of Sula Peak, Tent #2 is a 12x14 canvas tent featuring a comfortable king bed complete with linen, a dual-controlled electric blanket and sherpa bedding plus a cozy woodstove with free firewood, making it bookable year-round. Wi-fi is free, and each tent has one power strip inside for electronics. Patio chairs, propane barbecue, and a communal picnic table are at the campsite for your enjoyment. TENT CONTENTS: King bed with two pillows, linen, an electric blanket topped by sherpa bedding.; two camp chairs; woodstove with free firewood, kindling and matches; two lamps; one power strip for electronics, two plates, bowls, mugs, and silverware; water kettle, cast-iron pan, oil for cast-iron pan, and cooking utensils TOILET: A flushing toilet and cold-water sink are located inside the tan shed marked "Wild Wild West." WATER: Potable water is available via a spigot behind the tan shed. FOREST: Oxen-Le-Fields Montana offers direct access to the Bitterroot Forest. Follow the trail at the back left corner of the property behind tent #1 to access miles of forest roads. PETS: Your pets are welcome. While pets love to sleep on the bed, the sherpa bedding is prone to holes from even well-groomed pet claws. Please use the blanket at the end of the bed to protect the bedding (and your pocketbook) if your pup likes to snuggle with you. Please keep pets on a lead to prevent them from disturbing other pets and campers. WILDLIFE: Deer, elk, bighorn sheep, marmots, and coyotes are abundant. Bear, moose, wolves, and cougars also share the forest. Please respect the wildlife and understand the inherent dangers they pose. Bear spray is highly recommended when exploring the forest. HOT SPRINGS: Enjoy a soak at Lost Trails Hot Springs just 8 miles south. Price is $10 for a soak and shower. FISHING: Blue-ribbon trout are abundant in both the Bitterroot and Big Hole rivers. Bitterroot fishing access is available all along the Hwy 93 corridor. A community fishing pier is less than a mile south. Access to Big Hole is just a short drive away. Four miles north of Darby lies Lake Como where fishing, swimming, and other water activities are enjoyed by all who visit. HUNTING: Oxen-Le-Fields is located in district 270 next to districts 240, 250, and 321.

Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, the Cozy Cabin features power, rustic yet hot shower, apartment size washer/dryer, and a small fully-fenced yard. The small bedroom offers two single beds with full linen and a 5-drawer dresser. The kitchen offers a full fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, small table, and 2 chairs. Amenities include ground coffee, drip coffee maker, French press, tea, creamer, sugar, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and more. The cabin is heated by a large woodstove with free firewood. The patio features seating for 5, and is perfect for watching wildlife stroll through. A propane barbecue grill is available just outside the front door. The cabin was originally a hunting cabin, which reflects its simplicity. The linoleum floors and simple furnishings means easy living so you can relax and enjoy yourself.

I loved staying here. About 1.5 hours south of Missoula in the Bitterroot mountains lies this wonderful camp. It is surrounded by trees, trails, and mountains. Finding it was very easy, checking in was simple and communication was awesome. The photos and small touches of hospitality do not do this space justice. Come for relaxation and amenities, watch the stars at night, and stay warm by the fire. I was blown away and cannot wait to return.

Such a spectacular place to stay!! Just what I needed. Not only is it beautiful on the inside, the bed is INSANELY comfortable (heated blanket was super helpful during a 30 something degree night), and the view in the morning is breathtaking. Pictures don't do it justice. There's everything you need in the tent. I would highly HIGHLY recommend Lynda's property!

We spent 2 incredible nights at Oxen Le Fields. Lynda greeted us upon arriving and her kind and friendly demeanor set a great tone for the trip. We enjoyed driving up to Sula peak and exploring the Bitterroot Valley. The bed was super comfortable and we had a blast being able to camp comfortably on a cool fall weekend. Our last morning we woke up to beautiful snow covered fields and mountains. It was so cozy in the tent, Lynda made sure we had plenty of firewood and the stove and electric blankets kept us very warm. Would highly recommend staying here!

Tent #2 was so spacious and cozy! The wood stove was perfect for a chilly night autumn night, even though the wind and rain crept into the tent slightly. Lynda was a friendly and communicative host. Wish I could’ve stayed longer!

Cozy Cabin with View
This site was beautiful! Lynda was so kind and helpful. There is a nice trail near the cabin and is easily accessible (it is steep though!). The cabin was perfect, the pictures don’t do it justice. Our dog loved the fenced in area. It’s also the perfect place to look at the stars. Highly recommend!

Lynda’s tent was so nice to stay in! She is an incredible host, baked fresh cookies and had everything looking perfect. The property is STUNNING and so peaceful up there. I love how she had snacks available, watercolor and rock painting for kids, a hammock, wood stove, heater, and everything you could wish for in a place like that! Clearly, she is passionate about camping and has put in a lot of love into her sites.

Lynda was a wonderful host and we felt warmly welcomed from the first moment. The views are just as beautiful as the photos, and the location is peaceful and serene. We enjoyed access to the neighboring forest land for an evening hike. Our accommodations in Tent #1 were cozy and comfortable. We appreciated finding the woodstove stocked and ready to go - perfect for making coffee and breakfast. Water is available from a spigot and restroom facilities are in a small but clean tent with a composting toilet. WiFi and cell service were reliable. We loved our stay. Highly recommend!

What a hidden gem! Excellent hosts. Cabin was perfect. Amazing views and there is a ton to explore nearby. We especially loved just sitting on the porch, reading and drinking coffee/tea. Would def recommend!

Lynda responded well to my questions and was a great, friendly host. The views were vast and beautiful. The cabin was just right for me and my husband - coffee, views, and trails was all we needed. The porch was sweet, and even in the cooler hours, felt warm enough with a blanket and the sun to sit and enjoy. Thanks Lynda!

Linda had a great setup to enjoy an early spring glamping experience. The wood stove kept us warm through the night even with the rain. Bed was so comfortable and the setting gorgeous. She is hoping to make a bath house in the future which will be such a plus. We would definitely enjoy this space again, especially as it is dog friendly.

This tent was perfect and stocked with everything I needed plus more (home baked cookies on arrival!). It was the perfect stop for an overnight on my journey across the country. The bed was super comfortable!! Wish I could have stayed longer.

Lynda has a really nice hill-top property with some very thoughtful touches added to the tent: Little snacks, hot cocoa & tea, a deck of cards and a Hammock to lie in to watch the sunset. Something to consider is that although there is a very helpful woodstove, when we stayed in mid March it was in the 20s at night so be prepared to use every single cozy blanket and have a way to keep our liquids from freezing :) Overall, beautiful spot and lovely host

Spending a weekend in the canvas tent was delightful. The property was beautiful, bordered by public land with wonderful trails to walk and hills to adventure on. Our hosts were so nice, and helped in every way they could for any random questions we had. The animals on the property were also wonderful company. I hope to go back soon!

Such an AMAZING place!! With truly lovely hosts. We would have stayed a week if we were able. Wonderful cabin with everything you’d need and then some (due to the thoughtfulness of the hosts). Beautiful outlook. Fenced yard for the dog. Covered porch for gazing in comfort. Surrounded by forest service trails to wander. Seriously a gorgeous spot. We couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you!

Lynda's Glamping tent on the hillside was wonderful! That huge bed was so comfy and we stayed toasty warm with the wood fire stove when the temps dropped to low 30's. She had snacks, water and plenty of fire wood easily accessible. The view was great and just so relaxing. Lynda was the kindest host! Will definitively add this stay to our list of favorites!

Loved the tent! With a wood burning stove, I was able to keep the cold outside the tent while the doors were open and watch the sunset and sunrise over the mountain and take in the stunning surroundings. The bed was very comfortable. Lynda even left some snacks and hot chocolate to enjoy. I will definitely come back. Loved it!

My time at Lynda's was short but sweet! It was a perfect stop right outside of Missoula away from the ruckus with beautiful views and everything you could need to make yourself cozy. From a fresh candle, water, tea, and wood pre-gathered, it was a lovely and relaxing experience. You can tell Lynda and her husband are people who travel and have curated the experience they would want. Hope to be back soon!

Cozy Cabin with View
I stayed 2 nights in the cozy cabin. Very cozy indeed with the wood stove and the views are stunning! Cabin has all the essentials and the bed was very comfortable. Hosts were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. There dogs were do well behaved. The property and forest were unforgettable. What an amazing stay!! Can’t wait to come back!
