Welcome to The Lair of Liz — a rustic, wooded retreat space in Chase, Michigan, created for people who want room to breathe, reconnect, and show up as themselves. This is a place for freedom, expression, rest, and respect. A place to sit by the fire, wander mossy paths, stare up at an absolutely breathtaking star-filled sky, laugh with your people, enjoy the quiet, or simply step away from the noise of everyday life. Whether you come alone or with others, the heart of this space is the same: be yourself, respect the land, and respect the people around you. The Lair of Liz is off-grid and natural. There is currently no running water, so guests should be comfortable with rustic camping and come prepared for a true outdoor experience. The land is hilly and scenic, with wooded trails, wildlife, fire rings, open sky, and night skies that are genuinely worth staying up for. This retreat space is still growing, but it is already shaped with intention, care, and a little wild magic. It is not a polished resort — it is a living piece of land meant for rest, creativity, connection, and personal reset. A few things to know: * Welcoming to respectful guests of all kinds * Private and semi-private booking options available * Clothing optional stays available through private booking only * Pet-friendly with supervision * Kid-friendly with adult supervision * Cannabis and tobacco friendly * Bonfires allowed in designated fire rings when conditions are safe * Generators, ATVs, and dirt bikes may be allowed with prior approval * Firewood may be available, so please ask before bringing your own * A gas station and Dollar General are less than five minutes away * Older campers are welcome here. We know many campgrounds and RV parks turn away older rigs, but we care more about respectful guests and safe setups We keep rules simple here: respect the land, respect each other, and clean up after yourself. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, hateful behavior, or trashing the property will NOT be tolerated!!! We do not have a long list of rules. Please respect the few we do have. Come for the trees, the fire, the quiet, the freedom, and the kind of starry sky that reminds you why you came outside in the first place. A gas station,Dollar General are five minutes away

We had such a relaxing time on Liz's land!! Quiet, peaceful room to roam!! Thank you for letting us camp with our pups!! They also had a great time being free to love the land!!! This was my first Hipcamp experience!

I really enjoyed myself at (Lair of Liz) the hostess an Mr Paul was really friendly and knowledgeable about the grounds and surrounding areas. They was really hopeful when we did have any concerns about anything. From problems with my tent to finding different attractions around the city. They made me feel as though that's the only place that me and mine can truly and I do mean truly enjoy camping. Did actually made us feel just like family. I'm thinking now that makes two vacations per year there one with family. And one for self enlightment. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful Michigan woods! Cool hiking paths as well. The solitude here is amazing. Very rarely will you hear vehicles. Pretty much all you hear out here is birds. Will definitely be making this a regular spot for me! The hosts here are also pretty chill and laid back, very friendly and hospitable.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We ended up leaving within the first minute of arrival. The pictures are very deceiving and we’re strategically taken. If you are just looking for a place to park your car and don’t mind it getting , have no kids or pets, this would be a place. With empty chemical bottles and sharp rusted metal everywhere it is not a safe property to walk around on. The description states you can take an RV on the property but road is very narrow with many sharp objects pointing out- I would not recommend taking an RV here, you won’t get very far.
