Welcome to Carlandia! We are a quiet camp, sharing the peace and serenity of nature. We believe in promoting natural areas and encouraging formation of habitat. We love this amazing planet and are happy to share this beautiful place with you! ✌🏾💙🌎 Nearly 42 acres of rolling hills planted in organic hay, organic herb and veggie garden, loads of wild berries and mowed trails! See hawks, sandhill cranes, 20+ songbirds, deer and maybe fox, bald eagle, osprey, or coyote! Minutes to waterfowl preserve, lake life, antiquing, mountain/road bicycling, kayak lakes and streams, disc golf onsite... Lots to do!

The site is located in a private sunny setting at the east end of the property and shares a fenceline with a sheep field. There is a fire pit and a large flat area for tents *Access to this tentsite requires an approximately 75’ walk from the parking spot. To prevent excessive erosion, please observe one (1) vehicle limit to site. Additionals may be parked at the gravel drive near the polebarn. Please plan your arrival accordingly.😎

Exploring the area? Checking out the state parks? Planning to bike or kayak? Gonna be in and out? The Barnyard Shady Day site is best for you! This barnyard site features a flat and grassy yard with firering and multiple trees to accomodate your hammocks. Situated between the workshop, tractor shed, and surrounded by walnut and mulberry trees , the spot allows very easy access. Though close to these buildings, it remains peaceful and relaxing, and even young fawns can be spotted by the fortunate observer! There’s a 120v outlet available at this site for your matress pumps and small devices (additional cash fee for heater or shore power use: $15/night, payable on arrival)

Piggy’s Cove

Piggy’s Cove nestled into a shady grove of trees at the west edge of the middle field.* A firering is included and firewood is available by the crate for $5 cash at the woodshed! Look to the east at dawn and see deer, cranes, turkeys, and maybe even Ursa, the little black cat! Campers can park directly at the site. If you have an additional car, it may be parked along the gravel driveway, about 50’ from the site.

What an incredibly peaceful and serene place- the fall colors were wonderful-Andi is very lovely & chill and my stay was exactly what I needed to reset. If I have an opportunity to revist, I will not hesitate to do so-highly recommend!

Spending the evening here was the most enjoyable and relaxing experience I’ve had camping 🏕️ I stayed in my little camper van and it was perfect for my vehicle! Woke up to bird song and soft rustling prairie grasses. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. The host was kind and generous and was a perfect fit to this fairytale style camping trip. I plan to make many return trips ☺️ Thank you for having me and sharing your wonderful land 🙏🏼

This was our second time camping at Carlandia, and we'll do it again in the future. Communicating with the hosts ahead of time is easy and prompt, and they were great to chat with while we were there. The setting is beautiful, and the camp site fit our needs in every way.

Fallow Fields Forever
On a 6 week camping road trip and so glad we ventured off the beaten path and found Carls property. Great kind hosts that made sure we had what we needed to make it a special stay. The property is big and beautiful with rolling hills, and an abundance of wildlife. Our site was very clean and secluded and made for a very peaceful night sleep. 100 recommend this to anyone looking for a great safe space to stay. One of our favorite spots so far!

Fallow Fields Forever
As someone new to camping, this was a BEAUTIFUL experience! The Fallow Fields site had plenty of sun to enjoy the summer rays with the perfect spot of shade by the camp fire. We were happy to find a grate on the fire pit to aid in our cooking. The trails throughout the property made for lovely adventures and the hosts were such warm faces for our arrival and departure. We would definitely return again!

We loved camping at carlandia! We were far enough from other campers that our reactive dog was able to enjoy camping as well 😊 walking the trails in the evening was so peaceful. We would definitely go back!

Beautiful land and wonderful hosts who are accommodating. Tasty produce, eggs,relishes,etc for sale at a affordable price there too. We stayed at the Barnyard so we could have access to electricity but saw another spot in a more wooded area that we will try out next time. The surrounding area is so beautiful and Carl told us about a hidden gem that we explored.

I loved it. My family loved it. The sites are far away from each other. You have the feeling of being alone and have space to roam. We went on a hot weekend and luckily there is a great swimming hole that andi told us about. The host where very kind. They gave me the feeling of always having my back but giving me all the space and privacy I love. I definitely hope to be back.

Beautiful property to camp on, I would definitely come back! There were tons of mowed paths to walk around on & it was very peaceful and quiet. We stayed on a Monday night so we were the only campers on the whole property and they let us choose whichever site we wanted which was nice. Firewood was cheap & abundant, & there were home-grown veggies available for purchase too!

Carl and Andy have beautiful land. Piggy’s cove is tucked behind the firewood shelter. The veggies they grow were delicious!

We had a great stay at Carlandia! The sites are private and spacious. Grounds are sprawling and beautiful with endless paths full of wildflowers, berry bushes, butterflies, birds, and critters — including some sweet baby deer ❤️ Outhouse was very cute and clean. Carl and his partner were so friendly and welcoming. We hope to come back soon! (:

These people are super cool - the spot is nice - farmland / rustic - price is totally right - great value - great hideout - cool people - sweet dog - quiet and relaxed - would totally do it again - almost extended my stay but I got to wandering and soon was too far out of the away )north of Detroit) to return
