We had a lovely time on the property! All of the animal life was beautiful and the trail around the pond is a great way to stretch your legs after spending too much time in a tent or setting up a fire. Highly recommended

Reqlly nice place with a pond and all sorts of amenities. They even provided some fore wood. Great location 30 minutes from Acadia.

I wish we stayed longer!

My husband and I were visiting Acadia and spent the night at the rabbit run spot. There was firewood and water set out for us and we were given clear instructions on how to get there. Best of all: a bathroom with a toilet and running water!! You’ll be greeted in the morning by chickens, ducks, and their dog Sadie if you’re lucky. If we’re ever back in the area we’ll 100% be staying here again. Thank you Mike and Cheryl!

By far, this was the most pleasant Hipcamp experience I’ve had. Every site at this homestead is nice, well-maintained and easily accessed. The host, Mike, was truly amazing as he went above and beyond to help us out! Upon our arrival, we realized we had some vehicle issues. Mike was more than willing to help accommodate us while we fixed the issue. What could have been a terrible situation was made better by the fact that we had stayed at this location. We would 100% recommend booking any site at the True Serendipity Homestead! You get a quiet, beautiful view and you’re helping a true homesteader!

We ❤️ True Serendipity

This was our second trip to Acadia National Park where we chose to stay at True Serendipity and we can’t wait to keep coming back. The worst thing about our trip was that we couldn’t stay longer! It is a beautiful site with great hosts and plenty of amenities to elevate the experience.

Wow!! True Serendipity is an absolutely incredible, and downright magical place. Mike and Cheryl were so kind and accommodating and our rather large group had an incredible time with plenty of room to rest and explore. I personally loved Bobcat Island. I will definitely be returning next time I visit the area to get a blacksmithing class in and cannot wait!

I loved the campsite. I like how the owners setup each camp site a little privately. I arrived late around 8:30 pm, it was dark but big thanks to Mike as he came to show me up my camp site and even let me use his fire starter and lighter.

Wonderful homestead with several campsites, a pond, hiking trail, chickens (and fresh eggs). All the campsites are spread out and were very private. It's conveniently located near Acadia. Definitely recommend!!

This was my 2nd time coming to this site, and the third and 4th site that I have stayed at. I love it here. I drive for over 8 hours to come up here but it’s very worth it. So beautiful and peaceful. I also don’t believe you will find better host. I also tend to find really great people stay here too!

Rejuvenating Paradise Near Acadia

I don't know where to start or end, so before I ramble I'll say, every aspect of this place is paradise, and, as aptly named, true serendipity. Picture: impromptu roadtrip to Acadia. You're close, it's getting dark, you need a place to sleep that's cheap for how close it is to the park. Check all the sites, everything is wildly expensive and/or way too far. Then you see True Serendipity Homestead. It checks all the boxes-- a few dollars more than some other spots, but clearly worth it. Well ranked, just what you need. Something about fresh eggs. You book it and book it. You get in after dark, set up and go to sleep. Next thing you consciously experience is the roosters crowing outside your tent. You get up, feed them and the other birds some bread. Mike comes by to welcome you and have a chat. You venture in the light-- STUNNING. Tasteful. Beautifully etched into the natural land, with so many amenities you'll spend a week without discovering them all, this place is a nexus of good people, grounding nature, peaceful serenity, and rejuvenation. Some days I didn't even go to the park! Be sure to take a boat out, walk the pond loop trail, make neighborly friends, feed the chickens, check out Mike's workshop, grab fresh eggs and veggies for your meal, or just lay back and chill. Stars at night by the pond were the best I've ever seen. Mike and Cheryl are lovely & kind and so cool, and they built the entire thing themselves! Mind-boggling. I'll be back-- see you there!!

Very kind, responsive and generous hosts! Everything about the site was as advertised. It is a private and very well maintained camp site. The property was beautiful! It is conveniently located near acadia however there is also plenty to do at the camp site itself. I would certainly recommend staying here and would absolutely book a stay at bobcat island again.

Best campsite we've ever been too, full stop. The hosts are extremely hospitable and the homestead is unbelievably wholesome. It was also amazing to learn about blacksmithing with Mike and to have a tour of the garden with Cheryl (cheers for the tomatoes!). The location - close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park - made it even better. We really wished we could have stayed longer, and will for sure be back someday soon. Thank you Mike and Cheryl!

Take the forging course they offer!

The trip was amazing. We stayed on Bobcat Island and had a lot of good space to ourselves. The first bundle of firewood was free and that's all we needed to make s'mores and have a comfortable night. Mika and Cheryl were fantastic. I *highly* recommend the forging course if you like working with your hands. Mike's great at teaching it.

Stayed at duck hill sight with my girlfriend and son. The sights are all awesome. Well taken care of, nice fire area and you get a free bundle of wood with your sight and additional bundles were only $5 each so you get a lot of wood for your fire. Mike and Cheryl were very responsive to messages and very accommodating. We did a blacksmith workshop where we made a feather coat hook and it was an incredible experience. Mike was very patient and an awesome blacksmith teacher.

We stayed at frog's nook. It's right in front of the pond, close to the restroom, and has a fire pit with rotating grill nets! Make sure to enjoy the fresh eggs, tomatos and the chubby carrots

Let me start off with how gorgeous this property was! This was definitely one of the most beautiful camping spots I have had the pleasure of stayinh at. I loved my own little private spot with a perfect pond view. It was very quiet at night with a lovely wake up call from the roosters! I I had an opportunity to chat with Mike during my three night stay and I have to say he was as welcoming as they come. Mike's and Cheryl's property was a joy to stay at and I hope to be back soon! ❤️

This was the perfect spot to book for a trip to Acadia! Mike and Cheryl are the loveliest couple, and were incredibly welcoming. Upon arriving, Mike came down to my site and introduced himself, and gave me a run-down of where all the amenities were located around the property. Not much later I met Cheryl, and she was very excited to show me how to hold the baby chicks. I loved it! Everything about this property left me feeling inspired and relaxed. Duck Hill in particular felt private, and I had no issues with other neighbors (who I hardly saw anyway). You get a great lake view, lots of sun AND shade, and it’s close to the restroom. It’s also close by to where the animals stay, which is fun to watch them! Plus, the property location is great. You are nearby the local chain shops if you need something last minute (Walmart, Home Depot, Gas stations, etc), but it is still a very quiet, secluded area away from the main roads. Being only 35-60 minutes from the best spots in Acadia was also a huge plus and made getting around very easy. I would highly recommend True Serendipity Homestead for solo travelers like myself or for couples and families! I can’t wait to come back again!

Second review for the same trip. We left for a day and came back, that should tell how much we liked it. Having an actual flushing toilet and sink is a huge plus for a hipcamp they also have a spring fed well water supply in the middle of the property so you can fill up anything you need.

I stayed at True Serendipity Homestead and booked the Frog Nook site, and it was awesome. The spot feels private but still close enough to everything you’d need. Woke up to a really peaceful morning with plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy some coffee. The hosts were easy to deal with, laid back, and made the whole experience feel really welcoming. Our morning chats with Mike learning about the land and the town were a highlight for me. Definitely one of those spots that feels like it’s got some character instead of being just another campsite. We actually checked out and came back a day later to extend our time in Acadia. Ill be back next summer for sure
