Peary’s Community Garden is a private garden area on our land with several small garden plots. Amenities include webber charcoal grill, Solo fire pit, with limited firewood, picnic tables, outhouse, non potable water, wide gravel access road, field and forest walking trails. Pets on leash ok. Short walk to vegetable and flower farm stand at entrance to Sadie Lane. Single site is near end of 500’ Sadie Lane, a private gravel road. 1/4 mile from I-295 exit. Hipcamp proceeds go to support the community garden and pay for compost, fencing, fertilizer, seeds, water system and related garden needs. Site is suitable for parking a small camper or van. One gravel site, suitable for tenting next to the existing Van or RV parking site. I will only accept one camping site per night. Several acres of trails through old fields and woods adjoin the site. Deer, turkeys and ticks are plentiful. Sadie Lane is a very wide gravel road but there is no dedicated turn a round at end.Site is on edge of Sadie Lane, a wide gravel road that I built to access Peary’s Community garden. It is the only site. It fronts on our garden common entertainment and picnic area, where I occasionally host community picnics and pizza parties. You will be the only campers on the 10 acre lot. There may be gardeners working on their plots during the day. The 10 acres is yours to enjoy, but be mindful that Maine has many ticks. The actual camp site is suitable for a small camper or van. Several trees are spread through the site that are perfect for up to ten sleeping hammocks. Sadie Lane is quite wide, but at this time, there is no dedicated turn a round. I have a gravel pad, covered with wood chips, for tent camping, which is adjacent to van/camper parking area. Only one site, but camper/van site and tent pad are rented as one site with possibility of having van with additional tent area about 30 feet away. I-295 exit, toward village of BOWDOINHAM, go 1/4 mile, Sadie Lane will be on your left by farm stand, Garden Side is nearly at end of Sadie Lane, on left. Site is by picnic tables, wood chip pad for tent or park camper on side of Sadie Lane. Solo fire ring for your use. You can use wood in blue bucket, under crooked post metal roof, near fire ring. Wood is $5 per blue bucket, honor system. Do not use wood by pizza oven. If Brian, your host, is off grid and not available, Lily, who coordinates the community garden, is available to help at 207-837-4569.

Brian and Luana's instant booking was much appreciated when I needed an impromptu place to camp for the night. Brian met me upon arrival to give me a brief overview and answer questions. Road noises aside, it was a peaceful spot to camp for the night. Grateful for the luxury of a compost toilet and dry firewood!

super nice little area, good directions once i got there. super close to the highway, was in there early, hungout for the day and then left early to climb mount washington! 3 hour drive, worth it :)

Such a great spot for my tent and to be at! Very convenient and close to Brunswick and amenities! Brian was accommodating and checked on me but never too much! There are gardeners in and out of the area which I thought was so lovely! My only woe was the highway noise can be loud depending on the night. I loved the little store at the end of the road too!

Brian was helpful and very welcoming. The site was beautiful and the nicest outhouse I’ve ever used! It was a great combination of being alone and not feeling out of touch.

A beautiful spot tucked amongst a community garden! The spot was clean, quiet and peaceful. We saw both deer and quail. Brian was very welcoming and gave us great local recommendations.

This a good place to stop overnight but I wouldn’t consider it a destination. Houses are within view and there is traffic noise. Also, as stated in the description, people will be wandering about working in the garden that is right at the site. We paid fifty-two dollars including fees and a lot of the camp grounds charge the same with more amenities.

This was such a cool location next to the Community Garden! Private, clean outhouse, close to the highway as you pass through. This spot is a gem and Brian was a great host, making sure we had everything we needed!

This was our first time tent camping as well as using Hipcamp and I must say we lucked out with finding Brian’s property. He was very welcoming and accommodating. We have a 12 person glamping tent and had no issues with space for it. We camped with our 5 and 2 year old boys as well as our dog and everything was perfect. The picnic tables, outhouse and fire pit was a nice touch. Would highly recommend.

This site was awesome! My group of 6 had plenty of space to set up and the area is absolutely beautiful! Everything was very clean and Brian was great with showing us around and making sure we had everything we needed. I absolutely would stay here again!

Adiquit for a stop over on the way north, the included firewood was appreciated, the outhouse served its purpose and trash disposal was supplied, as another Hipcamps in the area wanted to take it with you, along with human waste.

I loved the campsite. It is very well equipped, clean outhouse with light and hand sanitizer. Brian prepared not only firewood for us, but also kindling. The site is not far from the road, but quiet, we got a good night sleep. Overall had a great time and would recommend!

Flower farm camp!

My partner and I camped just one night on our way north for a wedding. The place was clean, quiet, and overall beautiful. The site abuts a flower farm and a greenhouse with veggies. The pictures don't do it justice; such a stunning property!! We met Brian and his lovely golden Oscar in the morning. Both were extremely friendly and we felt so welcome and at home. Make sure you stop and grab some fresh produce and flowers at the farm stand on your way out! Thank you for the awesome stay! We will be back.

Easy in and out. Never met the owner. They had such a nice set up with picnic tables, wood, a fire pit. Didn’t use it because we came in later and left early. Definitely felt in the woodsy.

A Safe and Beautiful place to camp!

What a great place to camp! The location is easy to find, the space is beautiful. There's a farm stand right at the end of Sadie lane, so we had only a short walk to access excellent provisions. If you like to walk, there are acres of mowed paths through beautiful glades and groves. We stayed five days, so we had the opportunity to meet a number of the people who had garden plots. All of them were very friendly and kind. Brian is a great host. I felt safe, welcome, and cared for. I highly recommend this site. My only caveat to would be to say that traffic on the local highway is a constant, though quiet, background noise. We heard plenty of owls and other wildlife in our tent at night, but it was accompanied by the murmur of cars and trucks. For us, this was not a problem at all, but it's something that's worth knowing if this is important for your comfort while you camp.

Peaceful campsite with the essentials. Clean vault toilet stocked with TP and sanitizer. The solo stove is way better than your average campfire ring, and had plenty of firewood, which saved money and making another stop. We saw 3 visitors to the community garden and otherwise had the place to ourselves. Easy to find a level spot for a RTT and there’s also a mulched area for a ground tent. The hosts stopped by to say hi but gave us privacy. There’s a convenient farm stand at the end of the road. There is some highway noise, but that’s to be expected based on the location. Lots of stars visible :-)

A great spot to stop while on a road trip. This was probably the cleanest site I’ve ever been too, including the outhouse. It’s super easy to access and matches the listing exactly. Brian was really accommodating on our late night check-in and super friendly when we met in the morning. Bring your own drinking water and you’re set!

Brian, Luana and their dog Oscar were the best hosts! Such beautiful land, a beautiful community garden with amazing history, clean bathroom and such kind people. Book and your money will go towards helping Brian keep up with all of his town community work. Can’t wait to stay again!

I loved tent camping at this site! It was quiet and we had the site to ourselves which was really nice. Brian was super responsive and open to suggestions on making things better. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone! And I'd be happy to stay there again some time :)

This was an awesome little spot. The host, Brian, was very hospitable and accommodating. There’s lots of open space and plenty of spots to set up tents/hammocks. I would definitely recommend staying here.
