Nestled in the heart of north-central Maine, our campground offers a unique blend of wilderness adventure and serene relaxation along the picturesque Mattawamkeag River. As you drift back 8 miles into the wilderness, you'll be captivated by the stunning beauty of Lower and Upper Gordon Falls and the Sleugundy Heater Gorge, making your journey truly unforgettable. Once you arrive at the campground, you can choose your ideal camping experience. Whether you prefer the rustic charm of an outlying shelter or the convenience of modern amenities, we have something for everyone. With 50 campsites available for RVs and tents, including 11 Adirondack shelters located just a stone's throw from the river, you can immerse yourself in nature while enjoying the comforts of home. For RV enthusiasts, we offer 6 serviced sites with electricity, water, and sewer, as well as 8 additional sites with electric hookups and water. We recommend RVs under 35 feet for the serviced sites, but larger vehicles can be accommodated on other sites. Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do here, with miles of trails perfect for fishing, canoeing, hiking, or mountain biking. If relaxation is what you seek, unwind in our full bathroom facilities, enjoy free hot showers.
