Backed up by a small river in a protected mini-wilderness watershed area with miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, this 90-acre farm was part of a land grant mapped in 1734, predating any town in the area -- hence the town line runs right through the property. You won't know you're only 2 hours from Boston! RV and tenting spots are private and secluded. Camp on the soft forest floor under pine trees, in a shady spot at the edge of the woods, or in a field overlooking the pond. Dark skies provide vivid star gazing, fireflies, and hoot owls at night. Pileated woodpeckers, ruffed grouse, beaver, red and silver foxes, and white-tailed deer are among the local wildlife here. Drive 10 minutes to famous Ted's Fried Clams, 15 minutes to swim at Mousam Lake or to Shaw's Ridge Ice Cream or Shain's of Maine; 45 minutes to beaches and Kennebunkport; one hour to Portsmouth or Portland; 90 minutes to White Mounains. Saturday is a favorite farmers market in Sanford with many local organic farms.

Tall pines with understory trees and native plants including bogworts, the wild highbush blueberries here. Drive across the meadow to unload under the trees, then explore to pick your site(s) anywhere in the woods. Our artisan-made Porta-potty that we call The Shit Shack is a quaint wooden structure back across the meadow in the barnyard. You can pick fresh mint in the meadow and raspberries in the front field (in July). No campfires in the wood, but there is a place for campfires between the meadow and farmyard.

RV1: Forest Edge with Afternoon Shade

Vehicle site · Sleeps 5 · Vehicles under 45 ft
You've got the whole field to yourselves! This site was selected for morning sun and afternoon shade. Lots of woods to roam in. You'll be looking up at a dark sky at night, great star gazing location. Blanchard Road passes by behind some trees at the front of the field about 500' from the site. You will hear vehicles and see headlights passing, but very few cars use the road, except commuting hours. We prefer no fires in the RV site, but if you really want one, let us know and Ben can bring you a fire pit.
