This camping site is spectacular! Beautiful views out onto the water and a fantastic way to experience the changing seasons.
Annie was a lovely host who quickly answered any questions we had. Including clam references so we could make a mean camp clam chowder for dinner.
Was an absolute pleasure, we will definitely come back!

Site 1 was an awesome spot! Plenty of room for a 4 person tent. Annie was great a communicating with me during the week up to my stay and the day of. Definitely going back again!

My friend stayed here first, and after she told me about it and showed me pictures, I decided it would be a great place for a September weekend getaway and it was! Very private - we only saw other cars in the parking area but hardly saw other people the whole time. Anna’s instructions were clear and the site was clean and roomy. Beautiful view to enjoy the Maine coast and watch the sunset.

We absolutely loved Annie's site! We stayed for 2 nights on site 3, and while other campers were at the other sites we barely saw them at all. The waterfront access is gorgeous, and we took paddle boards out for a morning paddle, highly recommend!! Annie gave us tips for nearby parks and day hikes as well.
Things to keep in mind -- this is very barebones rugged camping. The sites are clean and clear with fire pits, but there are no tables or chairs, so if you're staying multiple days be sure to bring your own surfaces for cooking and chairs for chilling. Hammocks would do well here! And while the path is clear, it's also rugged so carrying large items can be tricky in the dark (like we did when we arrived after sundown our first night) so watch your ankles. Lastly -- if you go for a paddle on the bay, launching at slack high tide would be a million times easier than at low tide like we did!

Annie was SO welcoming and easy to communicate with! The campsite was gorgeous and we loved waking up near the water...and also, she found out we were on our honeymoon and left us a really sweet note and flowers at our site to greet us when we arrived! We only spent one night there, but I would love to come back for a longer stay 🤗🏕️

Oceanfront wilderness camping was amazing! The views all around at our campsite were incredible! Overlooking the Atlantic and being surrounded in nature was so relaxing and rejuvenating. The area around the fire pit was great to hangout and place our tents and hammocks. Our mini aussiedoodle puppy has a ball too! He loved playing in the seaweed and running on the rocks! Can’t thank our host Annie enough, she was kind, attentive and accommodating! Will definitely be coming back!

Loved it here!!! My husband and I came for our anniversary with our 2 dogs and it was the perfect getaway. We stayed at site 4 with our own private water access which was so nice for the dogs to explore and for us to have a glass of wine while we watched seals playing and hunting in the bay! The directions to get to the campsite were so clear and easy to follow. The campsite itself was very spacious and clean with plenty of fallen trees to cut up for firewood. Annie was a great host!! We will definitely be back!

Oceanfront Wilderness Campsite
Staying on Annie's land near Friendship, ME provided everything we had hoped for: easy access to a gorgeous site that felt more like a wilderness experience than a car camping one! It was really a little bit of paradise, with a cozy site nestled in among the tall trees, overlooking a lovely cove. We spent hours sitting on the rocks below our site, and stored a kayak right on the beach for easy access. We watched osprey fishing, fish jumping and a playful seal just yards from our perch atop the rocks. The site was simple, just a fire pit and a cleared area where we pitched our tent atop the soft loamy soil. It was everything we needed! During our stay, there was one other site in use most nights, and while we could wave to the other occupants down by the shore, we didn't see or hear each other once in our sites. It was a wonderful site for our chocolate lab who could charge down the path into the water, or sun himself alongside us on the rocks. Annie was extremely kind, and gracious, and reponded immediatley to my occasional texts throughout our stay. We hope to return again soon!

Stayed at Site 2 over Labor Day weekend and it was everything I expected (i.e. beautiful, secluded but not too far from parking). The overlook is accessible to the northeast and worth the views. The Jameson Point Lobster restaurant nearby (5-10min drive) is also worth a visit. Will definitely visit this campsite again!

Annie’s place is so beautiful! The drive out is gorgeous and her directions to the site are spot on. All 4 sites we’re booked when we were there but it still felt nice and private. It is really special to have such exclusive access to this incredible forest and coast. Annie was also very helpful and communicative - we had a family emergency that we thought would cost us the trip but she helped us rearrange. Thank you!

Beautiful and private camping grounds. Plenty of wildlife but felt safe! The beaches are more rocky and tide had brought a lot of seaweed but still gorgeous and Serene area to wake up to. Plenty of space, having the portapotty is a plus, and Annie was very nice and accomodating! Can’t wait to be back here soon!

Annie was an incredibly accommodating and responsive host. The property is really unique, and we enjoyed sunning ourselves on the rocks by the water. I was hoping that the overlook on Site 2, where we stayed, would have offered more of a vista but it was pretty grown over. Overall, good stay!

Me, my husband and our dog stayed at site 4 and it was perfect! The view from the site was so dreamy and relaxing. We lucked out with a beautiful sunset! Annie was super helpful and responsive and her detailed directions got us there with no issues. If we are ever in Maine again we will be staying in site 4 again!

Loved it here! Really liked how pristine it was. Beautiful sunset overlooking the water. Lovely walk to the campsite through the forest, and not far. Soft forest ground, moss and ferns added a special ambience.
Annie and her husband are sweet and attentive-- and even arranged for a kayak (first time for us in Maine) which was great and made our trip! Secluded wilderness experience that we were looking for. We'll be happy to come back with pleasure!

We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again! Our site was a short walk from the car so we could bring everything we needed. The sites have a great view of the water and we spotted a few seals. Annie was a great host. She was very responsive and provided clear directions.

Both Annie and the campsite were exceptional!
Annie was extremely communicative, had great response-time and gave us everything we needed to prepare properly and get to the camp site with ease.
The site was stunning! We were at site 2, which was nice and private, surrounded by pine trees but also had a great look-out to see the ocean.

What a treat! This camp was phenomenal; the location is off the beaten path and it is 100% worth it. We stayed in site 4, which features ocean views from your own little private copse of pine trees. It's only about 300 feet from your tent to the water and it is super easy to paddle or sup from this spot.
Annie is a terrific host, very friendly and responsive and we could not have been happier with our stay at Tents and Tides.

Our stay was beyond wonderful in this campsite - in every way. You'll find yourself in a magical forest at the edge of the water. Our hosts went above and beyond what any other host has ever done for us. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great location with nice views and easy access to great coastal waters. The camp sites are well maintained and organized, with designated trails/toilet/firepit/clear campground. Although you can hear people from the neighboring sites, there is plenty of privacy (no line of sight).

Beautiful and secluded spot on the water. Good distance from other campers and seemed like everyone was respectful of space and noise. Watched the most spectacular sunset from our little rock outcropping in the water and saw crabs, birds, and a few seals in the water.
