This cabin won me over the moment I walked in. It was warm, cozy, and the loft was surprisingly spacious. The porch is the real showstopper, and even though it was too cold to sit out for long, the views from every window were gorgeous. It even started snowing while we were there, which added this wild, magical atmosphere to the whole stay.
The only downsides were the not-so-comfy seating, the heat being a little too powerful overnight, and the outhouse being a long chilly walk with a very rustic setup. None of it ruined the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go.
Leslie loved the lake and all the open space to explore. I even had to hop in a kayak to fetch her ball when she refused to wade into the cold water, which felt like peak dog mom adventure energy. Slippers were clutch since the floors get cold and they were perfect for padding out onto the porch.
The best moment was watching the sunrise roll in over the misty lake. Quiet, spooky, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. I would stay again without hesitation.

Hammock House at The Harrican
I loved staying at this site and Bridgett was such a good host! I originally went to car camp for a few days and unfortunately it rained the first 2 days, Bridgett offered me to switch to the cabin and I was beyond grateful! Instead of being stuck inside my car all day I was able to enjoy the cabin by the lake, it was so cozy and I got to watch the rain on the lake from the covered porch, which was just magical. Despite the rain I had a great time and the property is beautiful! Bridgett is a great host and went above and beyond for my stay here.

My parents, myself and two dogs had an awesome weekend at the Harrican Lakehouse. It was super quiet, restful and exactly as marketed. It was chilly at night and we all stayed super cozy in the house and by the fire. The only thing I would recommend to future guests is to bring your own pillow and coffee pot if you and your guests drink multiple cups. The one provided is just a little small.

I stayed at this lake house on a road trip around Kentucky while visiting from Oregon. The location is very remote and private and the hosts were great! I even ended up adopting a puppy from them lol
The lake is gorgeous especially at sunrise and sunset. There’s chairs on the wrap around deck, multiple kayaks, a fire pit (bring wood), and a dock. The lake house provides you with hand soap, towels, bedding. The kitchen has utensils/plates/bowls/pots/pans, a radio, a fridge/freezer, stove/oven, and sink. Bring your own dish soap and paper towels if needed.
We spent the day fishing on the lake and doing a puzzle inside. I’d bring extra blankets if you are visiting in the fall as it gets chilly. Overall, a wonderful stay and I’d definitely visit again if I’m back in Kentucky!

I would definitely recommend staying here! We absolutely loved the views and the quiet, peaceful environment. It was a long road to get down there but very easy to find. We will for sure be staying again in the future!

Nice little place on a pond. Morning coffee with the sunrise on the porch. Evening sunset with the campfire. Woods for hiking and fields for walking. My dogs have decided that they love fishing and require a pond at our house now. The place looks well cared for and the host was friendly and quick to reply to any questions. I would definitely book again/recommend this place.

Overall the Harrican lakehouse was a fantastic place and a great stay! Everyone in my group had a great time. I will say that the bathroom situation is a little precarious and the stairs are a little steep. On the other hand, the lake was wonderful. The fishing and boating was great as well. The lake house came with all the necessary amenities. Additionally there was plenty of space on the property for camping and exploration and although the water wasn’t flowing while we were there the creek and waterfall area were fun to explore. In short there was plenty to do and the experience was overall fantastic

I stayed at the Harrican Lakehouse with a friend on the way to Canada on motorcycles, what an amazing place. Bridgett is a great host and I’ll definitely be back.

This Lakehouse is what the photos show and SO MUCH MORE! The peace and contentment that comes with a walk on that porch is priceless! Floating in the kayak is pure heaven, and sunrise was absolutely magical! We look forward to coming back for years to come. Bridgette and her husband ( sorry his name escapes me I’m awful like that! ) were so very warm and welcoming! You’ll not regret this stay. Book as many nights as you can because you won’t want to leave!

Such a perfect weekend, we booked very last minute and Bridgett was very responsive, the little house was so cute and very clean. The pond was perfect size for maneuvering, our dog enjoyed the space as well! Will definitely be returning often. Dont forget the marshmallows!

So, I was originally supposed to be at "The Hammock House" because Harrington said it was booked at the time of me scheduling. Once I got there; the owner and I just adjusted, I paid the additional fee from one site to the other and I was able to get the house instead of the hammock site (which I would have had to set up a tent). THANK GOD I GOT THE HOUSE lol.
The location with proximity to the pond was perfect--wrap around porch with plenty of seating and right on the water. The house had everything you needed to stay for a week (we stayed 3 days). There were some cons but mostly pros! There is a shower, toilet but it is open in the only bedroom with a small divider. The water was hot to shower BUT it stunk horribly, from the sinks and the shower, once I used my soap and showered; I didn't smell from it. Privacy was wonderful and the property was beautiful, they already had kayaks we used--but no life vests. Host stated the pond was spring fed, the water was very clean with lilly pads and stocked. I had a great time with my son(13) and my dog. Host has a lot of dogs which followed her to the house to show us around, but never came down to the house afterwards. There aren't any TVs or cords to plug in phones so be sure to bring that (I did t, I thought I was going to be at a tent site)-- I like to take pictures. House is air conditioned with 2 wall units. All in all, I enjoyed it and would love to go back again.

Bridgett was very friendly and accommodating to requests such as early arrival and checking out late. Their property is amazing, especially if you’re wanting to get away into nature. The end of the drive is about 10-15 minutes at 25 mph down narrow streets through hills and farmland. The lake house itself has a perfect mix of charm and functionality (2 air conditioning units and a great ceiling fan on top floor!) with a kitchen with a good mix of dishes and pots and pans. I’d recommend staying up late on the back porch and waking up early before the sun rises to truly appreciate the wildlife and nature. I would love to visit again someday!

It was our second time staying. Got to get in pond this time since it was too cold our 1st visit. Very clean spring fed pond as i expected! Love getting in water that doesnt make you or your pets smell like thats where you've been. Cant wait to go back!

The stairs are really steep & had no hand rails to get upstairs to the bathroom. No plug in by beds for a cpap machine, had to sleep downstairs on the sofa.
Unfortunately, we picked a day when they were baling hay. We were expecting to only hear the frogs and crickets while fishing. We had to end up going in due the them baling so close, it affected my allergies.
But overall, it was very clean and cozy. The host, Bridgette was very pleasant and accommodating !!

This was my second stay at the lakehouse. We love it so much! It’s perfect for our little family. We swam with our pups, fished, and spent some time on the gorgeous wrap around porch. It was as quiet and relaxing. We can’t wait to go back!

This is the best Hipcamp on the entire app hands down. It is private, perfect for pets, the hosts are always courteous, fast, & efficient yet still manage to give you complete privacy. Good fishing, cozy cabin with great A/C, & beautiful sunsets. I have stayed here for group camping trips for work, a bachelorette party, a weekend with friends, and an anniversary. It is truly a gem & great for all occasions.

Once again, my stay on this Hipcamp far exceeded my expectations. My wife and I stayed for 7 days and it was nothing short of spectacular. Our dogs had the time of their lives and so did we. Bridgett is a wonderful host who is very easy to communicate with. I chose this location for my first solo camping trip in 40 years. It was incredibly safe, welcoming, and the sites are private with beautiful views. Bridgett has a gorgeous property perfect for experiencing nature. I plan to return and enjoy this great location again.

We love spending time at the Harrican Lakehouse. It has become our escape each summer when we just unwind, relax, and enjoy nature while still having amenities.
We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, and just listening to the birds and frogs.
Bridgett kept us informed when we had a power outage due to storms. It was still just as peaceful.
We will definitely be back again next summer.
