What a beautiful and peaceful getaway! The view when you first arrive is absolutely breathtaking, and the privacy and seclusion make this place so special. We especially loved having access to the kayaks and dock. Our family made some wonderful memories here, and the kids are already asking if we can come back next year!
One thing I think is undersold about this property is the night sky! The stars are absolutely stunning! There’s a large firepit surrounded by plenty of chairs, making it such a wonderful place to sit together in the evenings. I wish I had brought a big, cozy blanket to spread out and just lie under the stars. It’s truly beautiful!
A few things to remember when packing for your trip:
* Drinking and cooking water (the listing mentions there is no potable water, but I overlooked this!)
* Extra bath towels and beach towels, especially for larger families
* Paper towels
* Life jackets for the kids
* Bug spray and sunscreen
* A lighter and firewood if you’d like to enjoy the firepit (wood is available for purchase on-site)
* A large blanket for stargazing!
* Flashlights and water shoes
* Games, cards, books, or downloaded entertainment since there is little to no cell service
* Coffee, creamer, and your favorite food essentials
The kitchen had cooking equipment, dishes, and utensils, which was really convenient!
One thing worth knowing when planning sleeping arrangements is that the toilet is located within one of the bedrooms, separated from the sleeping area by a privacy divider rather than being in a separate bathroom.
Bridgett was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we really appreciated her hospitality. This is such a beautiful place to slow down, unplug, and enjoy time together. Between the lake views, kayaking, evenings around the firepit, and incredible stars, it’s a wonderful setting for making family memories. We’d love to return!
