Site 2 - Cannon Lake Private Woodland
My husband and I were fortunate to find this gem for some winter camping. The privacy is great and we enjoyed the wonderful views. The towns of Barbourville and Corbin are delightful for anything needed. I appreciated the closeness to different parks for outdoor pursuits.
Marti is wonderful. She provided great and accurate detail about the property as well as the nearby towns. We had originally planned to stay one week, but upon arrival extended our stay.

Site 2 - Cannon Lake Private Woodland
I have been camping here at this site for the last 90 days as I use my camper for business and was executing a contract in the area. The site is very quiet with hosts that will bend over backwards for you. For any additional supplies you might need, Barbourville has a Walmart and a sizable IGA that is only a short five minutes away. This site has full hookup with two lots. Mobile service was 2 bars at 4G however, I was able to Teather to my laptop with no issues and did not experience a drop in service. Called my wife every day for an hour and never had any issues. The road getting here is a bit narrow however the traffic is light and people here are understanding of this. Just have to get over near a driveway to get both vehicles by and if your towing a camper to the site, people will yield and get into a driveway to let you by. Just a great area with lots of hiking and kind people in this area. I will certainly be keeping this spot on my "must visit" list.

This campsite is absolutely a little slice of heaven. This will definitely be a return spot for me. I look forward to returning to this site every day because of its peaceful surroundings, safe location, good natured people and scenery.

Currently staying for a long term for a project contract I am servicing. I have to say that this is the best little nugget find for a camp site I have found thus far! The host is always reachable, and it is very peaceful, quiet and beautiful here. Plenty of animals to see and if you listen closely on some days, you can hear a peacock that one of the people up the road own.

Marti is a great host! As I was arriving, they were there waiting for me. They directed me in the spot I requested and had everything available. I had already had the supplies for hookups but they had everything and more to meet the needs and comforts. The area is very nice and quiet! Location is not far from the Walmart and IGA which is only 6 miles away. Will be staying longer for sure and will be returning!

We went RV camping for a weekend. It was very private like we wanted. We really enjoyed exploring the lake and waterfall areas. We also had several camp fires. They provided plenty of firewood, even put it up for us ahead of time so it stayed dry. Marty and her daughter Tiya were very helpful and attentive. They were kind enough to give us some AAA batteries so we didn’t have to drive the RV to town. Would definitely recommend this site!

Overall we had a good experience! Martha and her daughter were very friendly and helpful. They assured we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
The site itself is wide open with a shed in the middle. The shed came in handy for use of the porch and table that was provided. There is a farm across the road. You will see and hear all sorts of animals
The lake is down a somewhat steep hill and you can see it a bit from the camp site. You will hear a waterfall. Go to the right and follow the sound. There is a small area you can see it, it was nice. Once you get down to the lake it is a beautiful view with very tall pine trees. It's overgrown in many spots but some small areas to fish in you like, and we got alot of bites! It was nice to have electricity handy and the wash table with running water was very helpful.
The biggest downfall, not to the fault of the host, was that there were dogs all around us. Mostly loud at night, sometimes very early in the morning and you may get a neighborhood dog coming up on your site. There was quite a bit of traffic up and down the country road, possibly because it was a holiday weekend.... Luckily we were out during most of the day so it wasn't too bothersome. If this site was more enclosed and some didn't keep their dogs outside all the time, it would be more pleasant.
Keep in mind, we are not campground or group oriented campers. We camp in pretty secluded places but are always willing to try new places to get different experiences.

My family of four loved our experience at Cannon Lake Private Woodland! My 2 boys (16 &9) loved exploring the lake and surrounding property. It is Conveniently located to Cumberland Falls and Cumberland Gap. Martha was very accommodating prior to arrival and through the whole stay. You may need extra long water hose or extra long power cord. We highly recommend this campsite!

I really enjoyed my stay. Martha was concerned about my safety and I never felt uncomfortable here, even as a solo camper. She took me on a tour of the property and pointed out things to beware such as brambles, and the best spot to launch my kayak.
Birds were the most visible wildlife and they were fun to watch. Two robins were chasing a bluejay at one point. And listening to the whippoorwills at night conjured up all manner of childhood memories.
I believe a Hipcamp question was “would I return?” In a heartbeat. I didn’t plan enough time to see the falls, besides Cumberland Falls. And Martha’s place is a great home base for exploring the area.
