Cozy Cabin
Great site with a ton of trails and water activities available. Went fishing and caught some bass. Breathtaking views l.

We loved Jims Cozy Cabin. Jim was super laid back. This was a perfect place for me, my husband and our two pups. We stayed only two nights but could have stayed longer. Our pups loved exploring the farm and I loved floating in the pond with our neighbor. Whom stayed in the beautiful canvas tent on the other side of the pond. It was very secluded with all the amenities you'll need. He offered to help with our fire and he blew up floats for us. He even offered us fresh veggies from his garden. The cabin was very clean and cute. A/C worked great and was much needed. Cabin was only an hour away from Galena IL and 30 min from Dubuque IW both towns have great shopping, bars and restaurants. But if you're just looking to get away from the city and see the stars this place is where you need to be. We loved sitting on the dock at night looking at the stars. You can tell Jim spent a lot of hard work on his property to make it beautiful with all the flowers and hanging lights everywhere even around the lake. When we left we couldn't thank Jim enough. We will be back.

Helped us cart our luggage to our cabin via ATV, helped us start a fire, showed us around the land, super clean pond with clean paddle boards and floaties and friendly fish, tent was very clean with important supplies provided, the air mattress was also very clean, canvas tent stayed completely dry through the storm, bathroom was very clean and stocked and also had a shower as well, great hospitality and friendliness! We had such a calming time here and enjoyed the solitude with a lot of beautiful nature! We would recommend this place!

Mother nature's platform tent was exactly what we were looking for! The moment we arrived Jim showed us around the property and told us everything we needed to know. Also gave us a ride over to the tent with all of our belongings in his Polaris due to it being a bit muddy from the rain. The view from the tent overlooking the pond and the hills beyond it is a uniquely beautiful scene. We enjoyed swimming in said pond and cooking in the fire pit(once Jim helped us get the fire going). If you book a weekend here, you will not be disappointed!

Due to weather we upgraded our stay to Jim’s cozy cabin and absolutely loved it. It was clean and equipped with everything we needed, only steps away from the main building with a clean bathroom, and dock access to the pond. The property itself was beautiful and full of hiking trails and wildlife. Jim is a thoughtful host, giving us a thorough overview of the property, setting up our fire pit, and even providing toothbrushes which we forgot at home. If you’re looking for the perfect camping or cabin getaway, this is it!

I absolutely loved my stay - incredibly ! Jim was super helpful and insured everything was good. Bed was comfortable and I enjoyed looking out the tent each morning and night from the bed. Definitely returning!!

We loved our stay at Mother Nature's platform tent
We were a little nervous at first to be staying at the Mother Nature's platform tent, since we were some of the first folks staying there, but we were pleasantly surprised when we got there!
Mother Nature's platform tent was the perfect getaway for us and well worth the drive.
Our accommodation was newly renovated, had a rustic charm, and had everything that we needed, and then some. Jim was also incredibly welcoming, helpful, friendly, and communicative throughout the whole process. Right away, when we got there, Jim showed us around and answered our questions.
The surrounding property was quiet, beautiful, and scenic up in the (wherever we were) with plenty to do — we even got to feed the fish nearby!
We would definitely love to make our way back. Oh, and pro tip, try the dandelion wine 🙂
