Sacred Cedars is home to the Sacred Cedars Wilderness School. The property is roughly 13 acres with 4 different eco-systems to explore. At the heart of the property is an ancient grove of Cedar trees, hence the name, Sacred Cedars. Sleep under the boughs of the mystical cedars. Gaze at the wetland area for a cool soothing place to chill. Sacred Cedars is raw land, and completely off-grid. We provide tent and hammock camping spots, with 2 canvas tent glamping spots.

This site is under the mystical canopy of the Sacred Cedars, with outhouse, community outdoor kitchen, picnic table and fire pit. Sacred Cedars is completely off-grid. There is solar power in the large yurt to charge up your electronics.

Huge secluded forest, but still close to Sandpoint. Loads of Mosquitos sadly. Outhouse was great and Karie offered a lot of things to do and see on her land.

Karie was an awesome host! We had the whole camp to ourselves and it’s tucked into the woods which was nice. It had a full kitchen with a fridge and fire pit a short walk from the campsites which was very useful.

We loved staying on Katie's property. She was very kind and we had some wonderful conversations in the common area yurt. We would definitely stay with her again!

It’s a beautiful area! My family and I had fun exploring the area, and will plan on staying on the land more during the day than we did this trip (which was for lake swimming and fireworks!). We happily used the kitchen in the yurt and it made it feel like clamping to not have to set up our whole kitchen/cooking area like usual.

Loved being surrounded by the majestic Red Cedars, so magical! Also we really enjoyed sitting around the fire getting to know Karie better and learning about her wilderness, primitive training skills and hearing about her time on the survival reality show, "Alone". Everything needed is there: outdoor kitchen, fire pit and wood etc. Karie is a great host and so inspirational!

Ahern's Vintage Family Camp
Katie’s land was beautiful and we so enjoyed staying in the canvas tent! Fun using the kitchen in the morning and walking around the property a bit. Definitely would stay again!

Scared Cedars was the perfect place to have a quiet time connecting with the forest, complete with hooting owls at night. Karie was very welcoming and an incredible host, making me feel right at hom. I had no problem finding the perfect place for my tent. The covered kitchen area, complete with a fridge and stove, was very convenient. Highly recommended.

Off-Grid Living Under Sacred Cedars

Karie's land at Sacred Cedars is such an incredible place! It was an honor to be welcomed to there and have the chance to meet her. Sacred Cedars is a wilderness school where Karie teaches survival skills and off-grid living. The tent area is nestled under the cedars, and a little higher up on the property are the covered kitchen area, outhouse with composting toilets, and a solar-powered yurt (where classes are held.) Karie is a lovely and diligent camp host who takes great care to ensure you feel welcome at right at-home. She very kindly upgraded me to one of the tent shelters when she heard I planned to car camp (sleep in my car.) It was very cozy and had a complete queen size bed inside with lantern & nightstand, to boot! My pup was traveling with me and was also made to feel very welcome. I'm telling all of my friends and family about this special place and the awesome classes that Karie teaches! The next time I go I will plan to spend more time there to explore some of the hiking trails and learn more Karie's expertise.
