Satilla Sleepover Camping Haven
First we were sent an address and some questions about if we were on an RV or a tent. We were in a tent. Then we were sent a different address. When we arrived at the new address it was an empty grassy lot in the center of town. The restaurant across four lanes of traffic was the restrooms. Not acceptable. Called to tell her we couldn't possibly stay in this surrounding. Then we're sent back to the original address which is about 25 minutes away. We were told there is NO restrooms available at this location. We were left with nowhere to camp. Really need to have my money refunded as we didn't stay in either location.

Stars Aligned River Retreat
Michelle's land was peaceful and she even started up the fire pit for us. My dog enjoyed the walks over the boardwalk to the river.

What a great place to crash! Basically an empty lot across from a legendary bbq joint, Captain Stan’s Smokehouse in a sleepy town that time forget.
I used it as the first stop on my digital nomad journey, and the host was amazing, the people of Woodbine are an absolute joy to hangout with, and the countryside is just a slice of heaven!

We really enjoyed our stay here, the cabin is very cozy and peaceful. Its a beautiful walk along the boardwalk through the cypress trees to the river.

Beautiful log cabin very comfy and unique. hubby and I went for our anniversary and enjoyed every moment. Hosts were awesome and welcoming. We enjoyed hiking and kayaking at the nearby lake and just lounging around the cabin, what a great experience 💜🌳

Had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at the cabin! Very easy place to simply disconnect. The property is well maintained and the cabin is cozy and well appointed with essentials and unique pieces. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating but respected our privacy the whole trip. Would certainly recommend!

Very nice cabin away from all the hustle and bustle of the world. Such a peaceful place. Within an hour of us getting there, we saw deer & a turkey. Great place to get away & just relax in nature. Can’t wait to do that again.

What a relaxing cozy getaway ! My husband and I had a fantastic weekend and it was perfect ! Thank you, Shelby & George, for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We are an adventurous older couple ( 60’s ) who enjoy hiking, kayaking and star gazing. Stars Aligned River Retreat allowed all of that and more ! The stars were amazing, listening to owls every evening, watching wildlife graze in their natural habitat and allowing ourselves to destress and enjoy Mother Nature…what a wonderful experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back !

Had a lovely stay with George and Shelby. The apartment was clean, well maintained, and provided everything a family of 4 would need. Communications were spot on before arrival and hosts we're super generous during the stay. The fire pit and common area is well lit and kept us warm. Definitely a highlight of the stay. Boardwalk to the river provided easy access to the river.

Nice little spot off of i95 to spend the night tent camping last minute when we hit traffic on our road trip down to Florida. However, it’s right off the road, so I’d make sure you pack earplugs and an eye mask if you’re a light sleeper.

Really beautiful place, super peaceful and excellent upkeep, everything was very clean as expected and the cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas! The kitchen has everything you need, the oven works great, they had some spices for cooking. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is very nice. A note for families with young children: I would’ve like to have some suggestions for other things to do around, like walks, parks, activities etc. I probably would not recommend the place if you have young children as there isn’t much to do around except sit around a fire and take a short walk to the river. In a cold and wet time it’s hard to take advantage of the latter. But I could see this being more fun during the summer time, when it’s warmer. I was able to take a walk with the stroller on the road and not see anyone but it didn’t feel too appealing. Other than the specifics of our group, this place would be AMAZING for a couples retreat or older group needing to just get away and play games indoors or by the fire.

As usual, I was just looking for a place to pull in to sleep safely for the night on a road trip. I really wish that I could have stayed longer. It is exceptionally private, and it appears to have great equipment available to enjoy the river, and the facilities looked very well maintained.

We LOVED staying here! This is a beautiful property. We were too exhausted from the last few days of our trip to go, but the owner offered to take us down the river in kayaks. The cabin itself is so charming. We loved walking down to the river. Highly recommend this stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay here. Clean and cozy. Hosts were helpful, welcoming, and gave us plenty of privacy for the quiet down-time we were looking for. Would love to come back with more time to get out and explore the coastal islands.

We had a wonderful stay at the Stars Aligned River Retreat. George and Shelby were wonderful hosts. Communication was easy and clear. They gave us our space, but were more than happy to assist with any questions. George also took us on a quick tour of the nature preserve that surrounds their property and set us up for a relaxing kayak trip down the beautiful Satilla River.
As for the kayak trip, I'd highly recommend! George showed us where we'd be getting out of the river so we'd be sure not to miss it. We coordinated on a meeting time that allowed us time to check out a pretty beach south of their property.
The setting was beautiful. We enjoyed talking the boardwalk to the river and hiking to what felt like a private beach. We set up a hammock and didn't see another soul for hours.
The cabin itself was great, complete with a comfy bed, cozy reading nooks overlooking the trees, and cute, outdoorsy decor. The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook--pots, pans, cutting board, knives. They also had a bit of cooking oil and little creamers for coffee. We didn't double check whether they would have charcoal for the grill, but they did, and we were able to use the propane grill when we got a later start on dinner than expected.
It was a great experience that we'd highly recommend!

Stars Aligned River Retreat
My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay at Stars Aligned River Retreat. The cabin was large, comfortable, and included every possible amenity. The property is also large and private, and is adjacent to a wildlife preserve which the hosts, George and Shelby, help to manage. On our first night, George gave us an ATV tour of the preserve, explaining aspects of the ecology including the old-growth cypress trees. The property has direct access to to the Satilla River, including a private beach which had just about the finest, whitest beach sand I've come across. I needed to make some repairs on the inflatable SUP I had brought along, and George was kind enough to lend me the tools necessary to make the repairs. George and Shelby offered to drop us off upriver for a 2-hour kayak tour, but we elected to just head down to their private beach where I paddled around for hours, chasing swallowtail butterflies, while Carly lounged on the beach. Our stay at Stars Aligned Retreat was one of the best I've experienced and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Stars Aligned River Retreat is a spectacular place to stay. George and Michelle have thought of everything and provide an incredible experience for people from an array of interests. Their property is gorgeous and the surrounding preserve is full of wildlife, trails to explore, and river to boat and fish. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful bathroom. The hosts were nice enough to provide us with a tour of the preserve and a fire at night - keep them informed of your preferences and they will be sure to accommodate. We highly recommend this spot.
