Learn more about this land: Remember this is a primitive camping area. No electric. I can bring you fresh water for drinking and cooking, or you can get it from our spickets at the greenhouse and garden area. You will have 3 choice's to camp Next to a small pond in a shady place (we are cleaning up from some storms, it may not be ready for camping however you can still explore on foot and fish) An open grassy field next to the garden, this space has spickets to hook up for water and a regular outlet for electricity but not to run a camper. Under a large oak tree. You can drive right to this area. Very quiet and peaceful. There are 2 spots by the pond, 2 spots in the grassy area and 1 under the oak tree. Water is available for all at the open grassy areas.

You will have 3 choices to camp; At this time we only have camping at the Big oak camp spot due to previous storm damage. The pond is open for fishing and relaxing on the dock 1- Next to a small pond in a shady place   2- An open grassy field next to the garden, (there are regular electrical outlets in the garden area only - not RV outlets (we are working on getting some) 3 - Under a large oak tree beside the open field. There are 2 spots by the pond, 2 spots in the grassy area and 1 under the oak tree. Water is available for the open grassy areas, you can get water from that area to fill your tanks/Jugs. I loved tent camping here! Me, a buddy, and my doggo camped under the trees here for 2 nights. The place is great and well taken care of and the host Lorine was a dream Super Host! She let us use her spring water to top off our containers, sprayed the grounds with anti-bug spray, and checked on us occasionally to make sure we needed anything while also giving us a tour of her grounds! Loved sharing stories with you Lorine! Will definitely be back here again.

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Camp site was very private. Driveway was pretty rutted but you can manage by driving around the ruts.

I loved this spot and would recommend to anyone looking for a primitive, star gazing oasis outside of Savannah. Lorine’s quick responses and help were greatly appreciated! 😊 hope to come back again

We had a lovely time camping at Lorie’s place! It was a short stay, but the land is beautiful, quiet, and full of wildlife. Lorie is an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Can’t wait to stay here again!

This was a great place to stop overnight. Lori was a great host, she even built a fire before I arrived and gave me a stack of firewood. My dog loved running around on the land, and there was plenty of privacy. 10000% recommend!!!

Under the old Oak with the protection of the overhanging branches but a great view of gorgeous sunsets and better sunrises!! We were warmly welcomed and the sweetest little fur balls helped my ‘girls’ feel welcome!! He even showed them the doggie pond himself!! And cooking a Thanksgiving turkey on a campfire was GREAT fun!! 🥰😘 Wonderful memories of a wonderful and perfect stay at Magnolia Hill!!

I had a wonderful time at Magnolia! It is an absolutely beautiful setting, with well maintained spots. The spot was private (get the space under the sprawling live oak!), but felt very safe. I camped out of, and slept in my van. The camp space is flat, so it’s really comfortable. The hosts are generous with fresh produce, and the fresh eggs are a real treat. Lorie is an accomplished artist, and I plan to return for a painting lesson. Say hi to Ginger for me while you’re there!

we only met jim, he was so great!! told us all about his property and cute sunset spot and he gave us like 8 eggs. we will def be back for his veggie garden and pond next year!!!

What happens after you had everything? Some jump in their camper and find people like Jim and Lorie. Arriving on their dirt road we were welcomed by Lorie, Jim, and Ginger with a basket full of eggs and pecans from their Homestead. We were escorted to the Live Oak on the edge of the field. The air is fresh and a silence that makes you feel taller than the trees, a salubrious feeling that you appreciate after leaving the hustle of a big city. Lorie and Jim bring laughter like the fresh breeze of Ossabaw Island. This Hipp Camp offers tours from the river, to the salt marshes, that lead into the open water of the small hidden cities and islands on the Georgia coastline, it is truly extraordinary on what Lori and Jim have to offer if you can stay a few days. In the case you are looking for inspiration or ideas to paint that picture you never thought you could, or start that scrap book, or just create a special moment with someone you love, Lorie offers a variety of art classes on-site. If playing in the dirt after many weeks in RV park is what your missing the small pond next to the potato field and the upcoming greenhouse may be the place you find yourself standing alongside of Jim. Need a small camper repair? Jim makes it his business to help others-all you need to do is ask. Jim’s and Lorie are another example of an American Family working together to create a better world.We Loved our stay here and we will be back to see the Shorebird migration.

I spent two very relaxing days at Lorrine's primitive camping spot. She was a gracious host who struck a perfect balance between being helpful and giving me my space. The fresh eggs were delicious. I stayed with my small travel trailer in an open field that was close to their nearby fishpond. Did a bit of fishing and got a few bites.

The perfect weekend retreat!
Magnolia Hill
Very peaceful and perfect for what my partner and I were looking for in a weekend retreat. Our site next to the pond had plenty of space surrounded by trees. Different species of birds and bull frogs were the extent of the wildlife and they kept us entertained! Lori, the host, went above and beyond in making sure our 3 night stay was the best it could possibly be.

HIDDEN GEM. You want to stay here. It was so peaceful, so beautiful, so perfect to reset and to stay a few days. We would have stayed the whole month. Lorine and her family welcomed us with open arms and gave us the space to have our own experience. I cannot wait to come back.

Great stay!
Magnolia Hill
The site was wonderful. Lorine was accommodating and provided lots of helpful directions and guidance. The property was peaceful and secluded. Nice soft ground made for a great night’s sleep. Would recommend!
