Wildflower Pond and Woodlands

What a precious place. They’ve covered so many details: directions are clear, sites are clearly marked and spaced out/private, toilet/outhouse is comfortable, dishes can be washed, shower also available, firewood bundle waiting at the fire pit, and the gorgeous property was clean/spotless/no trash anywhere. It was also quiet. Will definitely be back!

This was our second time coming to Wildflower Pond and we had an absolutely wonderful time. We have been to many hip camps along the east coast, and this is by far the best one. The love, intentionality, and care put into this space is obvious and something to be cherished. If you want a relaxing time in nature, I highly recommend staying here.

Magical

This was a wonderful experience. The site was clean and very taken care of. Nature treated us well, we got to see many beautiful birds. Nights were quiet and peaceful. The Pileated place is amazing, so cozy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to camp. Bring peace with you, respect the owners and others living around that area.

Cute/Cozy Place with Minor Drawback

It’s a great little area and they’ve done a lot to make it cozy and welcoming. Out of their control however were two things that people may want to be aware of. Our 1st night was great-quiet, peaceful, just us with our little dog and the stars, as we listened to distant coyotes singing. Second night however, someone too close by decided to do target practice with a rifle (high power kind with sequential shots). The shots rang out far into the night scaring our dog and disturbing our evening. After a brief pause, they’d start up again and it became quite disturbing. Added to that (and may have been related) a dog barked incessantly off and on most of the night. The host couldn’t be held accountable for these things, but if this is the norm people need to be aware (especially those who have a sensitive dog or may have PTSD). So we had a great night and a meh night. We were in a tent in Owl Burrow …. maybe those in an RV or on one of the other sites wouldn’t have minded as much.

I arrived shortly after sunset and set up my tent, took a cool shower which was really nice and refreshing after the springs! The place was cute, you could tell they put a lot of love and care into it, which is also quite inspiring. I needed a safe space to rest last minute and so there it was.

Close to San Felasco

We booked this site last minute because it was super close to the San Felasco trails and we had a full day of riding planned- I'm so glad we found it! The property was beautiful, the outhouse was clean and well-kept, and there was even an outdoor sink for washing our dishes, a huge fire ring, and a picnic table. We wish the water in the pond had been a little higher and more conducive for fishing, but that is no fault of the owners, and we were still able to catch one bass. We will definitely make this our new home stop for long riding days in Alachua.

One of the best experiences weve had. Allie was so amazing. You could see and feel the love in the detail. Still a primitive experience but with organization. She allowed us to pet her beautiful horses and made sure we felt welcomed. Thank You Allie. Super reccomend.

We only spend 1 night and got in after sunset, but Allie’s instructions were super clear on how to find the site. The site felt safe even showing up after dark. In the morning, we had the chance to walk around and check out the farm. Everything is super cute. We might check out the A-frame in the future.

Heartfelt Peace on a Soul-Fed Farm

5 stars for peace, charm, and the best night’s sleep under a sky full of stars If you’re looking for a beautiful peaceful place to unwind that still feels tucked away but not too far off the highway this is it. No KOA!!! Yay Easy to access even with a big rig. I pulled my 34 foot quad bunk and diesel truck right up to the 30 amp hookup with no problem. The property has that perfect mix of wild and welcoming. There’s a sweet little pond full of catch and release fish, great for kids. Bring some worms and let them catch their first fish in a setting that feels like magic. Lots of places to just sit and unwind or Lay in a hammock Our site had a perfect fire pit and they offer wood on site along with fresh eggs straight from the hens. Hands down the best eggs I’ve ever had, especially with a T bone on the skillet. There are also some super cute A frame rentals, a garden, a few pups running around, and some farm animals that made our stay feel even more special. Allie the host was incredibly sweet and helpful to me and my family. You can feel the love she’s put into the land. If you’re looking for peace, stars, nature, and a real deal farm stay that’s kid friendly and easy to settle into this place is the one. Will absolutely be back.

A nice quiet spot to enjoy an overnight retreat away from everything. Interesting compost bathroom cutely decorated. Great views. Nice quiet spot with safety. Great host delivered firewood promptly would recommend and stay here again.

Pileated Place was absolutely amazing and was a haven to relax in and slow down. I spent my birthday here with my sister, we stayed 3 nights and it was a blast. The shower, toilet, and sink are awesome perks. Plus there are fun springs and other attractions nearby!! I definitely recommend doing the farm tour with Allie at Five Hammocks Farm :)

This spot was so lovely! We stayed in the A-frame cabin that was cozy, we loved our campsite and this spot. Our last night of the three we heard the crickets and frogs chirping and it was pretty magical. Bummed we didn’t get to tour the farm, next time!

I was not able to stay at Wildland Pond because I fell & broke my tibia in my right leg. I was able to text Allie that I was at the Emergency Room and would not be able to drive for at least 30 days. Was there anyway I could switch my dates? I also did not see a way to contact Hip camp to let them know. It would be nice to be able to contact people when u have a medical emergency. I am still in the hospital and won' t be able to camp for awhile. The hotel I had booked after my hipcamp stay was easily cancelled with a complete refund. I have stayed at other hip camps in other states before & I was able to talk to the hosts in person. I have always enjoyed my hip camp experiences, but I think I need more reliable ways to communicate if a medical emergency happens. Thank you for considering this situation. Annette

This is a nice quiet spot to camp outside of Gainesville. My kids and I had a good experience. The outdoor bathroom was nice and clean. The outdoor shower was freezing so just be aware that there is no hot water. No big deal though. We would camp here again if we were in the area.

Awesome primitive camping

Staying at Allies Pileated Place was awesome. We were just there to kind of have an adventure, see what worked for us, and what doesn’t. We’re learning little, by little, and we thought it was the perfect way to start camping. We loved hearing the dogs howling, the coyotes yipping, and the owls hooting at night. Would love to go back at some point in the future.

Beautifully kept campground, great hospitality and close enough to town for amenities if you forget anything. Nice having running water and facilities for those that don't want to resort to nature only. We will definitely be coming back soon

We loved our stay on Allie’s land! It was secluded and very well-maintained, and the camping area was spacious. Loved having access to a bathroom, which was super clean! There were other guests camping in the area, but they were far enough away that we didn’t even realize they were there. Loved the fresh eggs and firewood options. Would definitely stay here again!
