This place is for a very certain type of camper, but if that is you, then it's great đ
This is a primitive one acre lot in what looks like a neighborhood that never got developed. It's all wooded (no paved roads, all grass) and there are houses close but there is privacy also. No power or water but we did fine for two nights with our five gallon for cleaning etc. we had a great time going to Crystal River, Three Sisters Spring and Rainbow State Park. Lots of places nearby, convince and dollar general five minutes away and downtown Crystal River shopping is awesome. Host was kind and quick to respond đ

Our stay at was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived. The campsite itself was spacious, clean, and perfectly tucked away for some real peace and quiet.

This is not a camping. It's a private lot in the depths of the wood with nobody around. You can access the lot by a kind of hiking trail. Rain was announced and I'm really worried about mud. Sure I couldn't get out of there with my Vanllife (RAM Promaster 3500). So we found somewhere else for these 3 nights. I asked for a reimbursment but Joseph said no. I'm very disappointed. Never again with Hipcamp.

I loved my stay here. The land is natural but fairly level, you can park any type of rig however you want or spread out some tents with space. The access is easy, and you don't need to do any backing in.
The area is great, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere at times but just around the corner are so many attractions and places to eat and drink.
We planned like 11 days here but stayed around 5 more. Had we not had something back home to take care of we would have actually stayed longer.
Joseph is a helpful host and gave us good info. We never met but I spoke to him on the phone very friendly.
We liked iot so much we bought a piece of land across the dirt road from it and are doing our winters down here in the future. I don''t have a bad word to say about this place. Had a great time there.

Great little off grid site! The shower pole was extremely useful to hang shower bag and set up shower enclosure. Host answers messages and phone calls promptly as well!

Overall the trip was OK, we had concerns of rain which turned out to be a real issue but we're told the weather will be fine. It was not. Any activity we set out to do was met with rain and had to end our rendezvous early which ended up in us cutting our trip short. I guess greed clouded judgement caused the owner to not be "real" with us about the situation with rain and he just wanted a quick buck, which from the campsite might not be that far of a reach. THE SITE IS NOT AS ADVERTISED IN THE PHOTOS! You get about .18 of an acre in someone's "backyard" ,thank god we were the only campers because that wouldve been cramped, with none of the water scenery shown in photos. They advertised a 4.6 mile walk to a natural trail which is no where to be found. No immediate access to the beach,which from the pictures they show you would think it is. The beach also leaves alot to be desired. If the owner was more honest about their setup I wouldn't have much of an issue outside of the quick money grab. I wouldn't recommend this owner or site to anyone.

Other then the mix up on what road to take(which would of been fine if we didn't arrive in the dark) it was a affordable campsite with things nearby to do. No run ins with wildlife or bugs and good host who checked on us several times.

I love the campsite. There was only one other house around so it was very private. Perfect for anybody that wants to be off the grid. Not that far from town or restaurants. I would definitely say here again.

Solid piece of land with easy access to Crystal River. Joseph was very communicative and responsive. I liked the platform to accommodate a large tent as it rained and that helped keep the rain from getting in. Met all our needs.

The site is perfect if you can camp independently! Itâs close to a variety of the springs and you will see manatees! It was a quiet site with easy parking and a picnic table and a fire pit. Exactly what we needed. We were scouting for a work trip and this would be a great site for a larger group.
We will be back.
Joseph was also very responsive which was appreciated.

The pictures and text on the Joseph's site seemed to indicate that his property backs up to the Crystal River. It doesn't. The text in the second paragraph is copied from a park website where you can camp and hop in the river. It was disappointing to realize this upon arrival.
Despite the fact that he pictures a toilet on the listing, there is no toilet. If you aren't tenting, this won't be a problem.
The road to get to his property is very rutted and if it is raining, may be difficult to pass.
Grateful for the place to stay, but wasn't exactly what we were expecting, however, the price was right.
