Had a great experience camping here! The walk down to site #2 didn’t take long and there was a wheelbarrow out front for us to use. The sounds of the river was soothing at night. Would definitely camp here again when we’re in the area!

Camping on Karen’s land was magical! It had amazing views and being so close to the water was very calming. Her directions were very thorough as well as her explanation of where everything is and what she provided. It’s like an air bnb in the woods! Pets are allowed and we brought our dogs and they had a blast as well. Plenty of room for them to roam. My boyfriend and I had the best time and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful spot. Loved the views from the outdoor potty! No signal at all for AT&T. I had to drive back to Twin Lakes to communicate with the world.

Karen’s campground is AMAZING. It’s really well maintained and has lots of space. It was really nice to spend time on the deck and by the water. It’s also really close to several of the 14ers and Willis Gulch as well as Leadville and Buena Vista. Highly recommend this spot!

Amazing views driving to the campsite. It is a ways in the mountains but totally worth it. Super high in altitude though which may cause some discomfort if your not used to it. There was a lot of bees but no stings. Wouldn’t recommend going this time of the year (mid September) as it got super cold at night (low 30s), unless you are very prepared! Lovely place overall

I stayed at site #1 and the sound of the creek all night was wonderful! It’s so nice to sit by a fire next to a creek and each the evening come on. There are helpful toilet institutions and a campground only a couple of miles away if you want to use that toilet. The deck was a great spot to sip some coffee or a beer. 😀
Karen, the host, was very helpful and easy to email and very responsive.

Very Nice camping! Site was well kept. Booking was easy and smooth. Karen was very accommodating to our group. Beautiful camping right on the water, nice tent pads, cool outhouses, stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Close to Twin lakes, great hiking, Aspen and Independence pass. Place was quiet and enjoyable, secluded and fun! We will be back. Thanks for a. Wonderful time.

Moose crossing was amazing! The views and rushing water right next to the tent were just perfection... and the makeshift outhouse just ideal with the best views. My pup also enjoyed all moose crossing had to offer. I can’t wait to book a future stay! Karen (the host) was great with communicating everything we needed to know about our stay and we had a wonderful time!

This really is the most beautiful Hipcamp we've done. Seeing the mountain in the mist in the morning is wonderful, as is listening to the river at night. The parking area feels a little close to the road (you can hear cars during the day from the parking are) but all the campground sites feel secluded. We had a trailer so we slept up by the parking area, but would take our food/coffee down to eat at the picnic table by the campsite.
There are a lot of thoughtful touches everywhere. I would love to come again!

Beautiful setting and the stars are amazing at night. Toilet situation sounds odd but really was no problem and the deck at Camp 1 is pretty cool. Lots of small kindling, but you probably would want to buy firewood and bring it with you. Not many private campsites like this in the area, it was great!

Amazing location! We loved the fire pit right next to the river. Appreciated little details such as laminated potty instructions, clothes line, water buckets, lights near cliff and walkways. Sites were larger than we expected. We will definitely be back!

Words cannot describe the beauty of this spot. The rain could not even dampen our good time! Secluded atmosphere even though there is another campsite. Have already booked a 2nd trip!

This place was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better spot. Direct access to the water. Great fire ring and outhouse set up. Extremely clean. I will be back!

Stayed here after a hike at Maroon Bells and was beyond thrilled to have chosen it. Driving over Independence Pass and landing here was a real wonder. The site is gorgeous and well laid out; and a well-organized host ensures you know exactly how to get there and any and everything you need to know while there.
Fire pits with grates for cooking were available and wood. And we appreciated seeing a bucket, shovel, and extinguisher handy for putting out the fire.
Sleeping beside the flowing river in a perfectly private site was wonderful and we look forward to returning :)
Oh and the pool-noodle seat potty really made us laugh and we will never look at those again without remembering our beautiful mountain adventure.

We absolutely loved the spot. A little slice of heaven about 25 minutes from Independence Pass. Easy to get to, and central to Aspen, Leadville and Buena Vista. We will definitely return.

Excellent place to spend a few days. It rained 2 of the 3 days but with good gear rain doesn't matter. Well kept tent area and trail to the sites. Views were great and at night the star scene was phenomenal. Will definitely be back, no doubt

Karen’s land is incredible. Spacious with views forever. This is our second year going and we can’t wait to book a third. The location just adjacent to the river with La Plata Peak towering in the background is surreal. Karen is a great host also. She is easy to reach and super accommodating. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person last year and I’m so thankful for her being willing to share this amazing space.

Great location! Other than the beauty of the site, the second thing that popped on to mind was just how clean and maintained the site was.
Tent sites are secluded, and adequately separated (if that is something important to you). The camp site areas down by the water are nicely appointed (picnic tables, fire rings), and the “outhouses” are specific to each site, and care has been taken to ensure a pleasant experience (TP, bags and hand sanitizer provided by host at the time).
The adjacent Lake Creek stream/river was flowing strong the end of July ‘22, provided great ambience.
Vehicle camping in the drive is also a viable option. I had reserved both sites and vehicle camped while the other family with me tent camped up near the driveway. We reserved the lower camp site areas for exploring, creek access (stack stones, sit and relax), fires, and some some quality time playing cards on the picnic tables.
Overall, very impressed and very happy - will hope to book again!

The site is so gorgeous and peaceful! I've never had a campsite so close to a creek. It was the perfect getaway. There are lots of trees to put up a hammock or two and surprisedly the outhouse is much better than expected. We loved everything about Moose Crossing. Will definitely try to book again with friends.

What a gorgeous place to camp. My wife and I had a fantastic time. We want to come back very soon. The site was big and private. The people on site 1 had kids and two dogs and we never heard anything from them. Beautiful and relaxing, which is what we wanted. Thanks Karen!
