The ranch was the site of a sawmill in the early 1900s when the old Rio Grande Southern and Galloping Goose Railroads ran through the property along the Dolores River. All that’s left now is a little shack in the middle of the meadow and some remnants of the railroad tracks in the river.

Each site is designed for comfort and connection to nature, with space for up to four people. This cute and cozy a-frame is on a 50 acre semi-primitive campground just outside the historic Colorado mining town of Rico. Fish, ride or walk along the full mile of Dolores riverfront on the property, or head into town. Drive ~35 minutes to Telluride to take advantage of world-class outdoor recreation, dining, and festivities. Pet's are welcomed on the ranch for an additional fee of $20/dog. Wifi is available for an additional $5/day - please contact the host for access.

Riverside Big Canvas Wall Tent

Our riverside canvas wall tent feature a comfortable bed and fresh linens, solar powered battery to charge phones, a fan and lights. We also provide a lantern, a propane heater, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector and a fan. Large tent is 16’x20’ and features a comfortable king size bed and a queen size futon and can accommodate up four people. -Each site includes a fire ring, camp chairs and picnic table. Guests also have access to our fully stocked communal outdoor kitchens, yard games, fire pits and other on-site amenities. -There is no running water at the sites, however drinking water and water to clean up with will be provided for your stay. -There is no shower or toilet at the site. However, there is a clean and sustainable shared outhouse within a short walk of the sites. You are always welcome to visit the Matterhorn campground (15 minutes driving) for a $10 shower. -This space is off-grid, so please be aware there is no air conditioning. There is a fan you can use that runs off solar. This space is perfect from early morning until about 11am and then from around 4pm on. Mid day can be a bit hot and we suggest going out on day trips to explore and go on adventures. If you are booking in late May, September or October just be aware of the temperatures dropping.

Riverside A-Frame Cabin

Our private riverside cabins are located a few minutes walk from all the amenities the camp has to offer. The a-frame cabin provides a comfortable bed, fresh linens along with a solar powered battery to charge phones, a fan and lights. We also provide a lantern, a propane heater, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector and a fan. The cabins are 16’x22’ and feature a queen size bed and can fit two cots and can accommodate up to four people (ideally two adults and two children). -Each site includes a fire ring, camp chairs and picnic table. Guests also have access to our fully stocked communal outdoor kitchens, yard games, fire pits and other on-site amenities. -There is no running water at the sites, however drinking water and water to clean up with will be provided for your stay. -There is no shower or toilet at the site. However, there is a clean and sustainable shared outhouse within a short walk of the sites. You are always welcome to visit the Matterhorn campground (15 minutes driving) for approximately $10/shower.
