Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Spectacular 12 acre property that is centrally located to a wide variety of recreational activities; hiking, rafting, paddle boarding, boating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skiing, hiking/climbing, wildlife viewing, & more. There are elk on the property in the spring and fall. The property is populated with Limber Pine, which gives a true rocky mountain camping experience as well as privacy between campsites. There are 8 dry camp sites 4 RV/Tent (Pull Thru sites) and 4 Tent sites. Groceries/Restaurants at Dove Creek (10 min). San Juan National Forest/Dolores River Recreation (7 min). The McPhee Reservoir (25 min) with boat/snowmobile rentals, etc. Mesa Verde National Park (35 min), Telluride (1.5 hrs.), Durango (1hr.), Moab (1.5), Cortez (30 min), are a short drive with plenty of activities.

Fort Cedar Site #2-The sites are better equipped for class C RVs, Cabover campers on trucks, as well as vehicle tent camping. NO TRAILERS at sites. If you have to bring a trailer, you’re gonna need to park it at the residence and retrieve it later. Four-wheel-drive recommended for all sites and required for site 5. there are NO CAMPFIRES at this time, county has banned fireworks & any open fires. It’s too dry. Barbecues, charcoal, and propane grills are fine. Make sure all combustible items are completely extinguished. I. E. Charcoal briquettes. Please abide by private property signs, you are free to explore and walk the roads & forest- the property is on the border of U.S Bureau of Land Management, which is to the north of the property. I’m on site every day. If you need something, please ask. E.G. Water, shovel, first aid. No cutting trees or branches. You can collect deadfall that’s on the ground. Please feel free to clear any area on the ground of deadfall or debris to accommodate your camping. If you see elk antlers, please leave them on the ground. The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts come out to the property and collect them every year. I’d like to continue to support them. There are small wildlife, deer, elk, bear, and there has been sighting of a mountain lion. The summers are absent of most wildlife with the exception of some deer, the bigger wildlife- elk, bear, mountain lion are predominantly here during the colder months. Please DO NOT discharge any firearm on this property unless it’s an immediate danger to life and health. I’ll let the sheriff determine that. There are places to safely function check your weapon, please get with me and coordinate that. I’m happy to oblige. Sites are at 6900 feet, be equipped with water, and stay hydrated. Lastly, quiet hours are from 10 to 6 AM. Please respect others during this time.
