We are located one mile south of the Wyoming/Colorado border on the west side of Highway 287, one mile north of the rest area. The elevation is about 7,500 feet. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to our north), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything. The property line is fenced and/or marked, we ask that you stay on our property and keep close contact with your kids and your dogs leashed, or nearby, for their safety... due to abundant wildlife, as well as neighbors with horses and cattle.This private campsite is on the west side of our property, about 1/2 mile drive from the gate. Your drive will eventually open up to a large mowed field, camp anywhere you like... the premium spots are along the right/north side ridge. The site comes with a fire ring, free firewood (only when it's safe to burn.... when there's little to no wind), and hose water for fire safety (not available in the winter months). We often have gusty winds here so we please ask for extreme caution when burning a campfire. When the wind gets close to 10mph, it can be very dangerous. Also, there's a dining table with four chairs, propane grill, two benches that convert to a picnic table, hammock, sky chair, and solar lights.

This private campsite is on the west side of our property, about 1/2 mile drive from the gate. The drive to site begins on our gravel driveway, turns left and up a grassy hill, then levels out and turns right, or west... smooth drive for most vehicles. Your drive will eventually open up to a large mowed field, camp anywhere you like... the premium spots are along the right/north side ridge. We loved our stay at Rockaway! Lots of privacy and quiet. Our dog was able to enjoy all the space we had to play fetch. Brenda gave us our privacy but also reached out to check in on us when the weather turned for a bit. Lots of thoughtful details to make the stay very relaxing and enjoyable. We would definitely come back. Thank you!

This camp site is like no other camp site I have ever been to. It's obvious it was years in the making. So well thought out and no detail left undone. And in fact it's not over priced with what all is included. I'll be back!

My new favorite spot!

Brenda and Jason we exceptional hosts and their land was absolute perfection!! It was close to the highway (but not too close!! It was still quiet!) and super easy to find. Their instructions were spot on! Everything was so well groomed and maintained which made for very comfortable camping but there was plenty of wilderness to explore so you still felt like you really got into nature! I will 1000% recommend this spot and will definitely be coming back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This spot was absolutely perfect for our family! The hosts were incredibly friendly, communicative, and accommodating, making us feel so welcome from the start. The thoughtful amenities truly set this place apart—the beautiful landscape, clean bathroom and sink, cozy hammocks, spacious outdoor dining table, and fun games all made our trip unforgettable. We can’t recommend this place enough!

Rockaway was beautiful, clean, and amazingly equipped. The owners were also very communicative and helpful. The rocks and trees provided great shade and protection from wind. The grill, sink, and bathroom were spotless! Such great additions for a campsite! I would highly recommend!!!

Brenda was so lovely to meet. My husband (also Jason) and I were enjoying the horseshoe pits , when we got to meet her and her lovely two shepherds 💕 The property is behind gorgeous, and they’re so kind to provide a grill, hammock, table, firepit, firewood, sink, drinking water, solar powered lamps to light the campsite and walking trails … I mean , there’s nothing more we could have asked for ! We had to leave for health reasons in the middle of the night, and Brenda was so kind as to offer a partial refund, and we are rebooking and bringing our own two pups as soon as we can ! 10/10, I would totally recommend booking !

What a beautiful and quiet spot to camp!! The setup allowed us to camp with ease as we broke in our new camper. We were able to walk the area and explore with our dog as well. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot so close to home. Brenda was very responsive throughout the booking process as well. Hopefully we can revisit this area in the future!

The space was incredible. Brenda and her husband were very thoughtful in the layout and supplies for the camp. We didn't need to bring anything besides ourselves, tent and food. The site was extremely clean and very well kept up. Brenda was incredible with her communication and helped us with any and everything we needed. They were beyond hospitable and I would recommend them to anyone. I look forward to staying with them again.

Wow, what an amazing stay on Breanda's property. So private and cozy, which was exactly what my two large dogs and I were looking for. All of the amenities at the site are a wonderful bonus to what is truly a wonderful place to spend the night gazing at stars. I cannot wait to come back again!

This campsite had everything! It had probably the cleanest porta potty we have ever seen. It had a grill, a beautiful campfire that we roasted marshmallows on, and it has a working sink, which is amazing! I had plenty of sites to put up tents with shade as well as it had a hammock and a hanging tree swing, which was lovely. The property itself is beautiful. It had all kinds of unusual rock, formations, and plenty of area to exercise your dog if you brought one. I highly recommend a booking!!!

Great private site with great amenities. Brenda and Jason were very nice and you could tell they put a lot of thought into this site. The sink with running water from a hose was amazing to have, especially with kids. We will definitely be back.

Rock, Rock, Rockaway Camp! You can hitch a ride to Rockaway and you won’t regret it. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this brand new listing and it did not disappoint! Brenda & Jason have an incredible piece of land and have set up a great space for true solitude. They have a single campsite, it is quite large and perfectly tucked into the trees. The site includes 2 picnic tables, a large dining table w/umbrella, 2 hammocks, a propane grill, and even a nice large sink with running water. If that’s not enough, they have a very clean & large portable toilet at the other end of the site. They supply the firewood and even a hose to put out your fire. Also as another bonus, the property has enough of a signal to be in contact with them and they were great at communication. The entire property is surrounded by incredible ancient rock formations which they were kind enough to let me explore a bit as long as you stay inside the property lines of course. If you’re looking to get away from the crowded campsites with loud and rude neighbors, this is exactly what you’re looking for. We loved it, and plan to book again.
