Mixed feelings

First the positive...the seclusion and view were as expected.
Now the not so positive. I had short text messages with host about 3 hours prior to our arrival to give her a heads up on our ETA, where I told her that we would probably stop in Trinidad for bite to eat before proceeding to the campsite. She responded that would be fine for she had a meeting around that same time and we should all get back to her place around the same time. We stopped for dinner and arrived at the site at 7:30pm, but had to wait until almost 9pm for Jennifer to show up. She apologized for her meeting took longer than expected.
Don't let the Bed and Breakfast description mislead you. There is no B&B at this time and there is some construction being done at this time. The campsite has a portajohn and the shower listed is a waterhose connected to a water container.
This was our final leg of week and half long journey before returning home the following day, and this was by far the worse experience we encountered during that time.

Host asked us to stop by the RV to check in. We arrived at 7:30 pm to check in and set up before dark. The RV is obviously not lived in and no one was on site. Husband wanted to wait longer than I would have. No response to phone call or texts, finally at 8:45 pm host showed up and hollered from her vehicle, “Have you set up your tent?” We didn’t receive instruction where our camp site was so how could we? Host drives us to our spot which has overgrown weeds to wade through (in the dark). Husband inquired about the showers. It is a water hose out in the open, no privacy. Host said she intended to set up a shower enclosure but ran out of time. (We made our reservation two weeks ago.) Not sure why this location is called “B and B”, it definitely is not a bed and breakfast. I’ve done a lot of primitive camping and all though the view was nice, this was by far my worse experience.

We had a great experience staying here! The site is out of the way and we are very thankful to Jennifer for leading us there from Trinidad. We were able to pick our campsite and we had a beautiful view of the Sangre de Cristo range from inside our tent. Jennifer was super helpful and always asked if we needed anything. We would stay here again

Burro Canyon Bed and Breakfast
Jen was super helpful! She met us at the lake and had us follow all the way out to the site. It was quiet, peaceful, and BEAUTIFUL! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed visiting with Nugget and Jen.
