Our stay at Badger Creek Ranch was awesome! The location is remote and beautiful so we were able to get away and relax. But it's also a working ranch so we had the benefit of some nice amenities like a fully functional bathroom and the standard camping setup like a fire pit and picnic table. It was everything we needed for a weekend away and was close enough for adventures in Salida and Buena Vista. As an added bonus, if you're interested, the team at the ranch was so cool to chat with and they let my son help out with feeding the horses, sheep and chickens, which he loved! We certainly hope to be back sometime, it was a great experience.

I loved tent camping at Badger Creek! It was secluded, the stars were beautiful, and we were able to walk around on the land and explore the area!

We loved the camping spot and location! The road coming into the area is beautiful. We were close enough to visit salida and canon city during our stay but far enough out to really be camping.

My wife and I chose the glamping experience. We loved the property, people, and amenities. Huge open range with pretty sunrise and sunsets. Tons of birds around, including a hummingbird that comes right up to the tent. Bathroom and shower next to the tent, and an open community room with fridge and sink. Hosts were very friendly. Would definitely come back!

This was an amazing property with amazing hosts! They are very clear and descriptive with directions and the sites are well maintained and stocked with wood! The other campsite was occupied of our 2 nights but they didn’t bother us at all. We brought a telescope and got some amazing views of the moon. We definitely plan to visit again in the future!

My daughter and I stayed at the ranch and “car camped” It was beautiful and peaceful, and the hosts were very welcoming. It had a compositing outhouse next to the site which was very clean, and then a full bathroom with shower and kitchen to wash dishes in a bunkhouse which was very close to the site. The night sky was gorgeous and we also loved the super friendly horses! Would definitely recommend and return in the future!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary under the stars, with a warm fire and complete silence. The drive alone was worth the trip. We went on Sept 18th and the leaves were starting to change. Cows were on the road with their calves, just a peaceful environment. The hosts let us walk around their land and admire the rock formation and horses. Firewood was available which we appreciated. It gets cold, bring proper gear!

Such a beautiful plot of land with amazing owners! Very hospitable and welcoming. The property can get hot during the day, so I would recommend bringing something like a pop up sun shade. Amazing stars at night and very peacefully secluded.

We loved car camping at Badger Creek Ranch! There is a composting toilet as well as a running water toilet (and shower!). Everyone was super friendly and helpful on the ranch. We loved the dogs and horses! The morning and evening offered beautiful sunrise/sets. We will be coming back!

If peace and quiet and star-gazing is your style then Badger Creek Ranch is what you need. They sit back on an incredibly large chunk of land, that is about 50 min from Salida and roughly 75 min from Canon City. The landscape is gorgeous and it’s a fully working ranch with horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, and chickens. The ranch hosts are incredible nice and they offer everything you could need. They supply fire wood and even a bucket of water to put out your campfire, there’s also an outhouse or a more equipped bathroom with shower if needed. We loved this ranch and will definitely book here again.

Our tent camping experience was amazing! To start, the drive was just beautiful. We came at the perfect time to see baby cows and deer. The hosts were so gracious, providing extra firewood and even a hammer when we forgot ours to stake the tent. Perfect place if you are looking to unplug and unwind!

We loved camping on and exploring Badger Creek Ranch! There were so many birds and nests, coyotes, and prairie dogs, we were able to just turn off our phones and watch the world around us. The tent site is quiet and private but close enough to the main ranch that we could duck inside the common space when a storm rolled through. There is an outhouse close to the site, full bathroom with a shower and running water in the bunkhouse, and a common area with a sink and fridge if you need. We were so glad we chose to stay here and would love to come back again!

Beautiful and secluded site. I stayed at the lower camp and was able to drive to campsite. Beautiful rock formations surround the camp. It's quiet and provided great star views.

Badger Creek Ranch was absolutely amazing!
We had a great 3 day sleeping there in our own car.
The bath was so clean and better than we thought.
We lit a fire and it created a magic atmosphere.
They have nice animals like horses, cows and chickens.
The people who work there are incredibly nice and helpful recommending us a hike (secret hike), a town to visit or they are there just to have an interesting chat.
We hope we can come back!

It was great staying at Badger Creek Ranch. Their directions worked great and the drive to the property was gorgeous. It truly was a unique property and had good camping spots. The hosts were very friendly and worked hard to make sure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. The horses were very friendly. Sunset was truly gorgeous. It was great being about to have a campfire at night and look up at the stars.
