Arapaho Valley Ranch is a gorgeous, family-owned guest ranch in Colorado’s beautiful Grand County. Our ranch is surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest and is nestled in one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This area features hiking trails, waterfalls, and historic steam engines from the old town of Monarch. We have a private hiking trail that leads to our “kissing swing” overlooking the headwaters of the Colorado River Valley. To enhance your stay, a wide array of seasonal and year-round amenities is included with every reservation through our resort fee. All activities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. During the summer, dive into adventure with canoes, paddle boards, mountain bikes, fishing poles, hiking, and outdoor games like volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole, and ping pong. In winter, enjoy snowshoeing, sledding, and our ice-skating rink. Year-round, you’ll find comforts like complimentary coffee, Wi-Fi, and a variety of board games. This place was so beautiful! There were lots of options to stay in an RV or a TP cabin, etc. They had lots of activities to do, including canoeing and paddle boarding! It was a great experience and we will be back!

AVR is a private and peaceful space to camp with many amenities and proximity to the national forest and the Granby entrance to RMNP. Monarch Lake and its many trails are within walking distance. Be prepared for a very bumpy and dusty 8 miles on the last stretch of washboarded dirt road to get there.

We had an amazing stay at Arapaho Valley Ranch and after we left, wished we stay longer. The ranch had amazing views and walking distances to many trails and lake. The amenities such as the bathroom and shower was spotless and plenty of hand and shower towels. With a 32ft RV, we had no issue getting down to the ranch and leaving. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone!

I originally booked site 9 because it had full hookups, unfortunately the sewer hookup is on the other side of the site (right side of the camper) so I wasn’t able to use it. This site is right in the middle of everything I was willing to sacrifice some privacy for the sewer hookup but that didn’t work out. Luckily some other sites were available so we moved to site 17, the site was private but came with more connection issues. The water hook up was at the front of the site on the right side as well. I ended up parking the camper temporarily to fill the fresh tank and then backed into the site. Other than the odd connection locations I really liked the place. Nights were quiet and peaceful, and the views were amazing. I was bummed the red dog saloon wasn’t open during our trip though.

The kids loved all of the amenities at Arapaho. It was a good basecamp for Rocky Mount National Park. Monarch Lake is also 2 minutes away. Beware, the mosquitos were thick when we went in late June. Be sure to pack plenty of bug spray if you're going this time of year. It made sitting outside pretty much unbearable so we took advantage of the Lodge, cooked in the van, and spent daylight in the park. Aside from the bugs, the staff was really great and accommodating. This site was a little sun exposed for my liking so the staff kindly let us move to a shaded camp site closer to the river that was vacant. Great crew!

10/10 location/view. The grounds are beautiful. It would have been nice if we could use the showers. Having them reserved for only certain guests made us feel like second class citizens as campers. There was no electric hook-up at the RV site and nowhere to throw away trash. Most of the water pumps were not functional.

The views were stunning & late check in was smooth with an easy-to-read map! If you’re RV camping, there isn’t a sewer hookup but the vault toilet was the cleanest one I’ve ever seen if you don’t want to fill your black water tank. There’s a dump & fill station very close to the campground. Really great access to RMNP through the southwest side of the park leading you up and around the most beautiful drive you’ll ever go on. Lots of space on each site and a really great place to stay. Wed definitely go back again.

This camp is in the most exquisite setting. But the RV spots are fugly. We still had views but the sites were boxed in with privacy fencing and all standing in one large driveway like a parking lot. They really dropped the ball on the feel. The tent and glamping sites look superb but I’d skip for RV. I would instead go across the street to the state park. The RV spots are phenomenal.
